This is a unique, wonderful place. We liked everything about it. The hosts made everything about our stay easy, and we really appreciated all the things they've done to make the place cozy and comfortable. It had all the qualities and amenities listed, although what was really unique about is harder to describe. It felt like staying in a friend's cabin who wanted us to enjoy it even though they couldn't be there. And the cabin is surrounded by a beautiful part of northern New Mexico that's enough off the beaten path that you feel like you've really discovered something special.

Kevin, thanks so much for your kind words, we love hosting guests like you. Take care and come stay again!
What a great place. While it is small it does not feel cramped. There were ample supplies and it was very clean. Listening to the Elk trumpet while resting by the fire was the highlight of our visit. This cabin was a welcoming and restful stay after our long day at Chaco Canyon.
Perfect spot for us after a day of exploring in and near Chaco Canyon, host provided excellent directions for access. It was too late and too chilly for us to enjoy the outdoor seating area, but we made good use of the plentiful dry firewood (don't laugh, we're from the Pacific Northwest where dry firewood can be a challenge!) to have a cozy fire in the woodstove. Impressive internet speed. We appreciated the bottled water and coffee/tea/cocoa selection!
We loved the bed and covers - so comfortable and cozy. The water filter in the frig was great. Responsiveness of host was great. Nice snacks. Everything was very clean. Feeding the birds was such a treat! Wi-fi was good enough. What didn't work as well as that the water was lukewarm in sinks and shower. The induction stovetop was locked and we couldn't figure out how to use it - really clear specific instructions would help a lot. We found the very deep couches and the bar stools not so good for our seating. Lots of pillows would help for us shorter folk and a couple of chairs with backs for dining. There were many thoughtful touches of coffee and tea, wood for the stove, snacks for people and birds. The carved bears were really fun. Nice walk to the lake and around it. Obviously lots of love has gone into this place and with a few adjustments it would be great! We appreciated the reasonable distance to Chaco Canyon. Oh, one other thing: the directions need to include that the road off the highway is dirt and unsigned. We kept looking for the name of the road to go up and our cell service didn't work there. A young fellow at the nearby market was a great help.
We just spent a wonderful weekend in this cabin. Todd was available to answer any questions we had. The house was very neat and well stocked. We cannot wait to be back!
