Wonderful space to gather with family both inside and outside. Loved the short walk to the park and downtown Croswell. Made good use of the record player!

We loved our stay here! Very clean and easy check-in. Well stocked kitchen and the information binder was greatly appreciated. Saw mama deer and her babies every morning! A short walk into town as well as the Swinging Bridge. Nice quiet neighborhood. About 10 minute drive to Lexington & a 20 minute drive to Port Sanilac. Thanks for a lovely 5 days!

I'm glad you enjoyed the Riverbend Retreat!! Thank you being great guests and I hope to have you back 😊
Excellent communication with host. Property had many nice “extra touches” like warming towel racks and heat lamps in the bathroom, two electric fireplaces, canoes (with good lifejackets!), an outdoor fire pit with great chairs, and even a guitar with a tuner! Fabulous place for a peaceful getaway in a friendly small town! Two thumbs up from my husband and our college and high school boys!

Thank you for staying at the Riverbend Retreat. You were the PERFECT guests and are welcome back anytime!!!
Nice home at the end of the street, very private and quiet. Very close to downtown Croswell and short drive to Lexington. Was planning on having two adult women in a room, but they had a double bed and a twin mattress underneath the bed which wouldn’t fit in the room had to move it to a different room which would be my only complaint. Otherwise, nice place.

I'm sorry you had a hard time with the bed situation. We've never had that problem before and the trundles get used quite often. As stated in the listing there are 4 bedrooms, 2 bedrooms with trundles, I'm surprised to hear neither of them worked. Also the couch can easily be converted to a large bed. I'm surprised to hear non of that worked for you. You had 5 guests on your reservation, if in fact you had only 5 guests, that should have been plenty of sleeping options even if 1 trundle was a problem. I ask any guests reading this response to this review, if you ever have any problems with the trundles -or anything for that matter- reach out to me and it will be addressed immediately. Either way, I hope you still managed to enjoy your stay.
My family (me, my husband & 3 kids - 2, 4 and 6 yrs), we had a great time at the riverbend house! The location is perfect. Walkable to a little downtown in Croswell where there is a little market and ice cream shop. Lexington is only 10 minutes away to access the beach, shops and restaurants. The house itself was very comfortable, plenty of space both inside and out. The house is the last on the street, right up against the Black River. Very quiet and peaceful. We saw lots of great wildlife, which the children loved. We walked to the splash pad several times. All around a very nice stay!

Thank you for staying with us and being exceptional guests. I'm glad you all enjoyed it. We hope to have you back!!
Great spot on the river, beautiful grounds with river access for fishing/canoeing. A short walk to a cute park, small downtown area. The house was clean and nicely decorated. Unfortunately a well tank failed just prior to our arrival and we were left without air conditioning and one of the toilets. Owner tried to rectify and was in frequent communication with us, but the problem could not be fixed during our stay, so it was quite muggy and sticky - especially upstairs. The owner did offer a partial refund if we had chosen to depart early, but we had nowhere else to stay. Thankfully she did refund us a small portion of the stay for our inconvenience.

Thank you for staying with us and I hope to have you back. . You were excellent guests. Any host would be lucky to have you. The well is fixed as of this morning and everything is working as it should. I'm so sorry I couldn't remedy the problem sooner. Thanks again and I really do hope to get the opportunity to make your stay absolutely perfect in the future!

My husband and I reside in Southern California but I was born and raised in Michigan, not far from the Riverbend Retreat. We have 3 sons and 3 grandchildren. Our oldest son recently moved to Michigan so we decided to buy a vacation house to have more opportunities to visit the grandchildren. We love traveling, camping, boating, canoeing, and just about any other outdoor adventure you can think of!
Why they chose this property
In Historic Croswell, the property sits at the end of a quiet street so we only have neighbors on one side and a river on the other. Downtown Croswell is a short walk from the house and offers grocery, bar/grill, ice-cream parlor, coffee shop, and more. The public library is a quaint walk a block away. Behind the house sits Riverbend Park with the historic Swinging Bridge, Splash Pad, Disc Golf Course, and picnic area. 5minutes to the Village of Lexington, Golf Courses, winery, breweries, restaurants, shopping, sandy beaches, and events. We have it all!
What makes this property unique
Riverbend Retreat is 1/2 acre of vacationers dream. The property is absolutely beautiful and private. The abundance of wildlife and river access is unbeatable. You can jump on a canoe and easily paddle in either direction. Wildlife to be seen are deer, beaver, geese, turtles, and more! If you follow the river 1minute behind the property, you land right at Croswell historic Swinging Bridge and Riverbend Park with playground, picnic area, Splash Pad, and Disc Golf Course. You can get there by foot or grab a canoe and paddle your way there. With 2 fire pits overlooking the river, you'll soon find that you can be content just hanging around the property but, if you decide to adventure in the area, there is so much to offer!
