Waterfront Cottage With Spectacular Views And Private Beach

This home sits on the edge of a bluff with unobstructed views of the water and a secluded cove with direct access to a beautiful private beach. You do not have to leave your living room to feel that you are in nature. This Ca. 1960 two story cottage was fully renovated in 2015 with central air and all other modern amenities. There are glass panels that are 14 ft wide in the living room and other floor to ceiling glass panels and sliding doors that welcome the endless sunlight and cross ventilation. The property is very private with a landscaped garden and many flowering perennials, the green lawn leads to an infinity deck, ideal for sunset dining and your morning coffee.

Wonderful stay

What a spectacular home. The house is comfortable and clean and the backyard made us feel like we were vacationing in Greece or the Mediterranean. The hosts were incredibly welcoming and responsive. If I could give if more than 5 stars I would.

Unique and exceptional property.

Our family had an incredible month long vacation at this property. The views of the Long Island Sound are exceptional and the landscaping is truly captivating and meticulously maintained. The house itself was well stocked, clean and very comfortable. The private beach boasts beautiful sunsets and sunrises. We certainly hope to return sometime soon.

Gorgeous setting; wonderful stay

The photos, as good as they are, really can't do justice to the home's setting and beautiful landscaping. This is a truly gorgeous and cozy perch on Long Island's North Fork. The location itself isn't walking distance to much of anything, but it is just a very short car ride to Greenport, Orient Point, Southold, Shelter Island, and other nearby destinations. Tim was a fantastic host. He checked in with us constantly, was very flexible with us when we hit a few snafus, and he did everything possible to make sure our stay was comfortable. The house is well-appointed, cozy, and clean and really was everything we wanted and hoped for. And the little private beach (pebbles, not sand) accessible via stairs from the house and the lovely "overview deck" for morning coffee and family outdoor dining at sunset were huge pluses. We hope to be back again next summer.

Perfect getaway

The property is in an idyllic location. The house is very comfortable with particularly comfortable beds which we appreciated. Property manager was extremely helpful and even ordered a kettle for us and planted extra herbs in the vegetable garden

Incredible setting and view

The setting of the house and the view was even more stunning than in the pictures. The house is very clean and charming and convenient. The garden is absolutely beautiful. The owner was very friendly and responsive and accommodating throughout the whole stay. Will most likely come back next year.

Perfect getaway

We cannot say enough good things about this property and owner. For a second, you think you are in the South of France in Cap Martin... the greenery and the trees overhanging this beautiful view of the water-- it's just sublime. The house was perfectly clean and beautifully decorated without being fussy. The pictures actually do none of it justice. We had such a wonderful time and only hope we can visit again. (Also note that we had a baby with us, so it was important that packages were able to be delivered, and when that came into question, the owner, who was on vacation himself, got someone to come over and handle installing a mailbox to ensure all deliveries. He was extremely responsive and attentive-- and he and his wife could not have been more welcoming and kind). We've been coming out here for five summers now, and this was by far the most beautiful location we've had. Thanks so much for a perfect end to our summer!

Amazing house and location.

We had an incredible stay. The location is amazing. Listening to the waves every night and morning. The house was beautifully landscaped with incredible views for sunsets and sunrises. The beach is down a staircase well equipped for lounging, swimming and fishing and we rented kayaks and launched them from the beach each day. Great proximity to Greenport for town and great food, town green, carousel and walking around. The hosts were very welcoming and personally showed us around with instructions. We can’t wait to return again and would highly recommend this house for anyone looking to stay on the beach with access to a lovely house and all that the beach has to offer with plenty of space to relax and enjoy the amazing North Fork.

Most comfortable, relaxing stay by the beach

This is a perfectly located, well-maintained, and fully stocked beach cottage. Its design, including the large windows all around, and its decor are refreshing in and out. Beautiful views of the Long Island Sound from sunrise through sunset. The owners generously provided everything needed in the kitchen and bathrooms. Everything was very clean. With the exception of occasional landscapers working in the neighborhood, expect complete quietness. The backyard with the hammock and the deck overlooking the beach is a wonderful hangout. The private, pebble beach is a perfectly manageable stair climb. Good quality beach chairs, umbrella and towels are provided. There was an unexpected problem that came up but it was dealt with immediately by the owner and did not really interrupt our stay. Trash and recycling collection is also arranged from the property itself by the owner, which is often not the case with other rentals in the area. (With other rentals we were asked to carry garbage to the side of the road or another fairly remote location.) The location is also great; the cottage is close to Orient Point (with its park and beach), Greenport (with multiple good dining, shopping, and ice cream options, as well as the ferry to Shelter Island), a number of good farms (for fresh local produce and baking goods) and wineries. There are also other dining and hangout options in and towards other nearby towns (on route 25), such as Southold, Cutchogue, and Mattituck. Overall, this cottage is a great option on the North Fork! Highly recommended!!
