Definitely one of the best VRBOs we've stayed in! Our group of 9 adults had a fabulous Thanksgiving holiday in this inviting home with a MCM vibe. The kitchen was extremely well-stocked. The 5 large bedrooms have comfortable beds. Two lounging spaces, each with a working fireplace! Interesting artwork all around. Beautiful city views from both floors. The host responds to messages within minutes. Highly recommend!

We had a great stay in this home! It was close to everything we needed. We were in the area for the Marine Corp graduation and it was close to the MCRD. We went to the beach and restaurants close by. The house is dated but the views were incredible! We had a 3 year old with us and there were a few too many exits outside for our comfort. But he enjoyed the fenced garden. May be the only time we ever stay in a home where we ate fresh kale and carrots from the garden! And the host brought us beautiful fresh eggs from the chickens.

We enjoyed our stay at Canyon Ranch. Location was perfect and the house is close to everything. It was very easy to communicate with Michael and we found him to be a great host. House is very spacious with the wonderful view all around. All and all, we will again stay at this property next time we are in San Diego.

The house was a bit dated but the grounds and views were gorgeous. All the bedrooms, and towels were clean. Not all the closets in the bedrooms were accessible for hanging up clothes. The refrigerator had food residue, the coffee pot had not been cleaned, and the kitchen counters were sticky. The host was friendly and attentive.

Epic views, timeless design, incredible landscaping

You will not be disappointed if you choose to stay at this property! The views are even better than the photos, the grounds are immaculate, and the house itself is an amazing throwback to a bygone era. We had ten and were more than comfortable. Host Michael is on top of everything and gives great suggestions for food and outing options, just ask.

Spacious and welcoming

Great house for a family gathering with kids. Location is terrific. House is older but in good condition and plenty of room for everyone. Downstairs family room allows kids to hang out and socialize while adults can enjoy each other upstairs. Host was very responsive to one small maintenance matter.

I hate leaving bad reviews, but I could not avoid this one. No where on the description nor on previous reviews is it mentioned that this house is directly under the flight path to the airport. The description states that is is near the airport, no doubt about that because you can hear all 450-500 flights directly passing above the house. We were unable to hang out on the patio or enjoy the backyard as it was just simply too noisy. The flights end at 11:30pm and start right back up at 6:30am. The house is also very outdated. The only new items in the house are the refrigerator, sink and dishwasher. There isn't even a microwave. The kitchen wasn't as clean as we would have liked and the upstairs bathroom tub/shower had mildew and mold - definitely needs to be re-caulked and desperately needs a new shower curtain. We did love all the space in the house and all the bedrooms were large and spacious. The house could be a very cool house, very retro, but even if it were completely updated you would still have the issues with the flights flying directly over the house.

I’ve lived in San Diego for most my life and enjoy all the variety of activities San Diego has to offer. There are all the different beaches with their little beach vibes towns, lively downtown, mountains, hiking, biking, and of course Balboa Park just to name a few. The main reason I love to host is that it allows me to share the same enjoyment I receive from living in San Diego. What is great about my home is that my home is centrally located so it’s very convenient to get to all the attractions you want to visit.

I practice architecture and development by day. Creating housing allows me to enrich that fabric of all the different and unique communities of San Diego. When I’m not working I love to travel, I have been fortunate enough to travel to many places around the world with my wife and family. There are items in every room of my house that I have brought back with me from traveling.

My number one hobby is surfing and being in the Pacific Ocean. I consider myself lucky everyday that I can wake up and see it from my home and love that I can share that with others.
