About this property

Las Palmas Beachfront Palms Villa, Roatan Bay Islands, Honduras -

Both Villas are similar with 2 bedrooms/2 bathrooms with showers and set up and furnished in casual comfort island flair. They have a refrigerator, stove/oven, microwave, washer and dryer, but only Reef Villa has a dishwasher. We are privately owned duplex in the Las Palmas Resort with beach access but the resort beach chairs are not part of your rental rate and if you wish the concession manager will work something out with you for the period of your rental.
Our rental rate structure has two choices:
1. Short-term rate at $200 per day per villa or $300 per day for both villas, plus $250 security deposit one villa or $500 for both, Marketing Website Service Fees, and we pay all Utilities (Electricity, WIFI Internet & Cable TV).
2. Long-term rate of $1,500 per Villa or $2,400 for both Villas for one or more months and guest pays for Electricity and Owner pays for Internet and Cable TV. For each rental month your total would be $1,500 per Villa or $2,400 both Villas in rent, plus $250 or $500 security deposit, Marketing Website Service Fees and Electricity. Using AC could run between $100-$250 PER VILLA PER WEEK (based on energy saver measures) so this needs to be considered when choosing which rate structure best suits your group. YOU WOULD BE CHARGED AN ADDITIONAL AMOUNT BASED ON INCOMING/OUTGOING METER FOR YOUR ELECTRIC (3 TIMES WHAT IS IN THE U.S.) AND IT WILL NEED TO BE PAID IN CASH UPON DEPARTURE OR MONTHLY TO THE PROPERTY MANAGER.
Both Short and Long term rentals guests are to get their own on island cell phone as there is no phone in the villa.
19% HONDURAN TAX CHARGED ON RENTAL RATES.
We provide:
Start-up roll of toilet paper for each bathroom
1 set of linens (sheets/pillows/blankets/towel set per guest) per stay.
1 clean upon check-out
The Las Palmas Resort is centrally located on the Island and within 5 to 10 minute drive from the Airport and two grocery stores that are similar to US standards in terms of choice and pricing. Las Palmas Resort is about a 20 minute drive from West End where the majority of restaurants are concentrated.
The Las Palmas Resort has one of the best beach coves and reef system access for snorkeling and is just 50 feet from our front door. There is no pool at Las Palmas Resort available for guest use buts the protected shallow cove provides for a calm place to wade and float on rafts. We hope you choose either our Palms (lower Villa) or Reef (upper Villa) or both Villas at Las Palmas Resort for your vacation to Roatan.
Our property manager will pre-arrange and meet you at the airport or ferry or at Las Palmas entrance but you provide your own transportation via rental car or taxi to and from Las Palmas Resort. Once arriving at Las Palmas you will be escorted by the property manager to our villa/villas “Yellow Duplex House” and oriented to the villa.

Great time in Roatan

The house is in a fun location. You will want a car to get to the fun areas of West End and West Bay plus explore the Eastside. Nice bar/restaurant next door where we made new friends for life. The condition of the house needs some TLC. Everything worked, mostly. There were some issues with a AC unit and with the toilets. We were able to communicate those issues with the property manager and they did their best to get them fixed. Some updating of the plumbing fixtures and furniture would go a long way.

Planning to return !!

We stayed at Las Palmas, (lower villa) March 1 to April 1/17. Villa was clean, comfortable and well appointed. Location was amazing, right on the beach. Resort staff were detail orientated and care of beach area was meticulous. Property managers were available and helpful. Ongoing construction on site, but only to improve resort. We are already making plans to return next winter. Thank you for sharing your home with us !!

Loved the view and comfort of the house.

We arrived and loved this home from the start, then discovered many problems such as the water smelled so bad we thought we would have to leave. The property mgr said to run it until the smell was gone. Ok.did that, then the air cond did not workjthe screen doors kelt falling off and the shades kept falling down. Not a good start. Keven was great and did the best he could to make us comfortable. No one explained the electrical to us and tell us there would be an added expense, Not in our contract, no mention from anyone until we moved out and heard from Marc Walch and extra chgs re electrcal. Not ok. We were not advised about reading the metor, nor were we aware that was an issue .We put up a good faith security deposit and would like it returned.

My wife Linda and I had our Las Palmas Villas constructed in 2003 and come to the Caribbean Island a couple times per year and thought it would be nice to share with others when we are not on island.

Why they chose this property

Coming to Roatan is different from most Caribbean islands as here are no major chains here. While English is spoken everywhere on Roatan, it is still part of Honduras where Spanish is the primary language. Us dollars (small denominations) and credit cards are welcomed most places. So if you like warm water, great snorkeling everywhere, fantastic island restaurants then Roatan is a place where you can experience your own "Jimmy Buffet Margaritaville".

What makes this property unique

Custom made Honduran bedroom furniture and mahogany kitchen cabinets. Honduran pine wood floors and porcelain tile bath floors and showers. Decks overlooking the Las Palmas beach cove and hillside. An Island style property that is basic with casual comfort.
