About Rathie Bartlett and Jade Bartlett (daughter)
I was born in Sri Lanka and went to school and lived in the UK from a very young age. I spend a lot of time in Sri Lanka and am lucky enough to spend some of the cold winter months there. My daughter Jade will be helping me to manage the bookings for our holiday home in France. I love France and enjoy the food and the wine. I really love swimming straight from the villa into the sea. I am usually in France for at least 2 months of the year and love to come for the Voile de St Tropez which is at the end of September. It's wonderful to see so many sailing boats glide past the headland and sometimes across the bay.
Rathie Bartlett and Jade Bartlett (daughter) purchased this House in 1999
Why Rathie Bartlett and Jade Bartlett (daughter) chose Sainte-Maxime
My family has owned this property for nearly 20 years. We chose to buy it as it's drive-able from the UK and when it was holiday time with the children we could get into our car and drive across without having to book far in advance. My children are now grown up so are not reliant on summer holidays to visit. We had such a great time in the summer as a family we would love to now share it with other families. The villa has the most unique location. It's right on the water. I always wanted to have a house on the Mediterranean as I find the Atlantic Ocean too cold to swim in even during the Summer months. From the terrace I can go swimming and snorkeling which is great. You can catch your supper from the rocks if you are a good fisherman as there are plenty of beautiful fish in the water. I prefer to snorkel and see the shoals of thousands of sardines and large fish swimming about. You can almost touch them. The Med being non tidal is very safe for even young children to swim in. There is a beach just below the terrace which can be very sandy depending if the wind has blown a little seaweed on to it. There are plenty of rock pools to explore. Cherry Beach is a 2 minute walk and is a beautiful sandy beach which is supervised and swimming areas marked. There are many restaurants along the beach for tasty meals or sundowners. I prefer my terrace as it's quieter and the views are magical day or night. The area around the villa offers visitors so many different attractions from having a peaceful and relaxing time to water skiing, sailing, wine tasting, restaurants, clubs, bars to sandy beaches and breath taking scenery to markets to designer shopping. Ste Maxime is a family resort but the bright glitzy glamour of St Tropez is just across the bay. Using this beautiful villa as a base it's possible to tailor make a holiday which will be fun for everybody in your group.
What makes this House unique
Sea frontage. Just around the headland at Point de Sardineaux, is St Tropez with beautiful views too it from the headland. The headland makes the water look magical when large cruise ships, sailing boats and other vessels leave St. Tropez harbor and glide past this headland. This is particularly striking at night time from the terrace. The terrace is just as enchanting at night time. There is no 'black view' as the twinkling light of Les Issambres makes it look like a twinkling wonderland. The house is truly magical in the day time or evening. Once through the gates people do not want to leave. I have at least 3 families who return annually. This year I have added a chiminea in the terrace fire place and it makes it very cosy to go out and collect drift wood in the day time and light the chiminea at night. The sun rises are stunning as is the moon rise making a silver line to the heavens. There is absolutely no interruptions to the beautiful views out to sea. The courtyard is a peaceful place with 2 large olive trees and many herbs and flowers growing and a fountain. It's lovely especially in the afternoon to relax and play cards or read a book. The lawn is a great place to soak up the evening sun. The villa is about a 45 minute walk to Ste Maxime along the coast road which has beautiful views across to St. Tropez. There is a pavement all the way. There are 2 tennis clubs close by, again with beautiful views. The one in Les Issambres is flood lit. Lovers of golf will be spoilt by the hilly but beautiful golf course in Ste Maxime. Equipment for hire and lessons are available there. There is a water park in Set Maxime and a tree adventure course too. There is go karting, ten pin bowling, mini golf, fun fairs and many more activities on the doorstep. During the Summer weeks there are wonderful firework displays all along the cost. The pyrotechnics are especially amazing on August 15th.

Villa sea breeze on the waters edge
We are a family of 5 adults and spent a wonderful week at Villa Sea Breeze the location is amazing right on the waters edge the sunrise is breathtaking from the terrace. The pool and terrace area are ideal for relaxing and dining .
The interior has an old world charm with beautiful views to the sea.
Thank you Liz for your review. I look forwards to welcoming you back in the near future.
What a great find! From the initial contact and personal experience from Jade in booking; the extremely comprehensive welcome pack and brief from Rathie; to the welcome tour from Phillipe... and then of course the whole experience of staying in such a beautiful location... we just can not find fault with a thing. Even when faced with the challenge of an external failure in phone and internet connectivity we were provided with a 4G 'Orange' Wi-Fi box. Basically the customer service was just great.
The property itself is just so authentic - the pool sits perfectly off one of the two en-suite main bedrooms which we stayed in and is bathed in sunshine virtually all day. The views of the moored yachts awesome - all from your own terrace overlooking an enchanting little beach - this accessed through your own gateway no less! The snorkeling was incredible... I even caught fish off the terrace - mainly thanks to Phillipe bringing me a huge bag of bread and telling me the best way to go about catching them - I put them all back but you could grill on the great Weber BBQ provided or even make your own soup!
The local beach bars and restaurants - just a short stroll down the road - seemed 'just right' in terms of how busy they were and quality and cost of food and drinks... A five minute drive to Sainte-Maxime Centre for a much less frenetic pace than Sainte-Tropez - albeit a hop on the ferry, taking not more than 15 minutes, a must to get up close to the super-yachts anchored outside the port... (go on a Tuesday for a massive market incidentally).
My seven year old summarised it all - 'thanks for organising a brilliant holiday house daddy..............' I feel certain we shall be contacting Jade and Rathie again surrounding a repeat visit in the next year or two...
Thank you so much The Holfords.
We look forward to welcoming you back next year.
This is our second stay at this amazing villa and we will be back! There is simply no other location that is better than this. We spent our days swimming and snorkeling right from the house, or relaxing poolside, or grilling on the terrace overlooking the beautiful Mediterranean Sea. If we wanted to leave, we walked to the beach club down the street or took a short drive into town.
This home is so comfortable and well equipped and it really feels like a second home rather than a vacation rental. There is a lot of space for two families to move around and sleep comfortably but there is simply no place better than on the terrace relaxing. We are counting the days until we can return.
Thank you for taking the time out to write a review on my villa.
Coming all the way from the USA for a second time makes me very happy that my villa feels like a second home. I do try to create this atmosphere to make my guests happy and relaxed. I am very glad that you enjoy the beautiful South of France and all it has to offer its visitors.
I look forward to welcoming you again in 2018, if not before, until then, I wish you and your family all the very best.
Just a dream
Direct access to the beach, magical views from the terrace and a perfectly equipped Villa made the stay being a peferct Holiday . We will definitely come back next Year .
Thank you very much for your review Nadia. I am very happy that you enjoyed the villa so much and got value for money.
I look forward to welcoming you and your family back in July 2017.
A wonderful week in the South of France
We took three generations of our family to the South of France - my sons, grandparents and sister. The house is perfect for a large group - lots of bathrooms and living areas both inside and out. The kitchen is compact but well equipped - and anyway, we barbecued everyday on the fabulous terrace looking out to sea. What really makes this property stand out from the many we have rented over the years is its amazing position, right on the shoreline with immediate access to the beach. The views from the large terrace are truly spectacular. It was a joy just to sit and soak up the sun and views each morning and evening. The pool is a good size, so my boys (9 and 11) were in heaven with both beach and pool to choose from everyday. Inside the house felt like a home - not a bland holiday let. Overall, highly recommended!
Thank you Katie for your review.
I am glad that you had a lovely holiday in my villa. I am happy that you appreciated the homely feel of the villa, which I strive to achieve. It is suitable for all generations and I am pleased that you enjoyed the amazing views from the terrace.
I hope to welcome you again soon.
