About this property

Northern Lake George lakefront

Classic knotty pine cottage and guest quarters privately situated on 3 wooded acres on the banks of the north basin of Lake George. The compound accommodates 8-10 and is ideal for a two family share. The main cottage sleeps 4-6 in three bedrooms (one queen, one full, and a bunk room). It features a full service kitchen with dishwasher and microwave, a wood burning field-stone fireplace, a full bathroom, flat screen TV, and wifi. The adjoining renovated barn building has a master suite that sleeps 2 with a private bath and twin loft, flat screen tv.. The hayloft is now a dormitory style room with 3 twins that is stocked with games. There is a powder room at the base of the stairs. A washing machine, dryer, and additional fridge are available for use in the work shop. Next to the barn is a large campfire pit for roasting s'mores, grills for barbecues (gas, charcoal, smoker), a treehouse and picnic table.
The 600 feet of lakefront is across the street. There are stairs down to a deck that boasts 2 docks with a slip that will accommodate up to a 24' boat. The deck has a 5 stool bar, gas grille, serving table and ample additional seating.
The lovely Hague town beach is .25 miles (easy 5 minute walk) south on Lakeshore Drive. This family friendly beach and park has a sandy beach with access to shallow roped and guarded swimming for even the youngest members of your family. For your convenience there are picnic tables, an extensive playground and restrooms. The general store is a minute walk into town from the beach and sells drinks, sandwiches and ice-creams!
There is so much to this family friendly old gem.

OVERLAKE

The property had adequate room for up to 12 people. A separate guest house provided a quiet area suited for older folks such as myself. Flowering pots and perennials added to the charm. Great views of Lake Gorge. Generous kitchen facilities. Two docks with safe moorings.

Wonderful Week at Lake George

The property was exactly as advertised. Truly enjoyed our week and the accommodations. The cottage and outbuilding were perfect for our group, allowing for everyone to have their own space but plenty of room for all our activities. Thank you Lee and Marijke.

House was very clean. Owner easy to work with. Teens loved having their own space. Lots of steps to water. We loved cooking on the new grill. House could use additional lighting.

Perfect Lake George Cottage

I have been booking a home in LG for 8+ years and its always tricky to find a place that checks all the boxes. This years we found a gem in the northern part of the lake! Dock has plenty of space for 26ft tritoon we rented from Snug. Beautiful sandy bottom right in front. Grill with plenty of seating to relax and soak up the sun and views! House was perfect for family with teens. There is a separate room above the shop for the kids to make as much noise as they'd like with its own 1/2 bathroom. There is a separate bedroom and bathroom attached to the shop that is perfect for a couple to enjoy some quiet. The main house has 3 more bedrooms with a full bathroom. The home has plenty of cooking areas inside and out with all the necessities. Yard has great space to relax, eat and soak up the mountain and lake view. Only down side to the home is the walk to the lake which is very minor. Highly recommend staying and would love to come back next year.

Hague Cabin

We had a wonderful two week vacation. The home is extremely clean and well stocked with dishes, cookware, and utensils. The covered front porch overlooking the lake is a perfect place to hang out during a rain storm. The dock area has plenty of room and the water toys (kayaks and paddle board) were a plus. Lee and Marijke are perfect hosts, very responsive!

A Week at the Lake

Had a great time, even when it rained. Broke out one of the supplied puzzles when it rained & took advantage of the kayaks & stand up paddle board when the weather was nice. Lake is beautiful at the north end with several state owned islands within kayak distance. Water is incredibly clean & clear., & not too cold!

Lake George Rental

Hands down, a fabulous vacation!! From the beautiful property to the amazing scenery, truly a great stay. The property is so well kept and beyond welcoming. The comfort of the place was like being at home. Communication between the owners was top notch. I have rented numerous vacation homes and this was by far a favorite for myself and my children. Thank you so much for the great memories.

I don't know what to say except this place is shangri- la

From the beautiful outdoor fire area to the 3 separate sleeping quarters, to the cozy adirondack lodge feel and the gorgeous lakeside bar area, multiple grills, multiple lake toys, every convenience you can think of on a pristine spot on beautiful lake george. This is truly a home away from home- there is nothing the owners haven't thought of, there is nothing you lack in this gorgeous home. Best rental we have ever experienced. Thank you for your wonderful hospitality! We enjoyed every minute!

Great multi-generational cottage

Our family has young adults up to a 90 year old and there was space for each generation. While the younger members were paddle boarding or kayaking, grandma was able to watch comfortably from the porch. This was the first time we put the younger folks in charge of dinner. There was a fire pit for hot dog night and plenty of pots, pans and dishes for the twenty something year old who is a gourmet cook. Thanks for a great week.

Charming Lake Front Property

Beautiful country style home. Fit all needs for all age groups. The children loved playing in the Tree house. We rented a boat for the week and the dock set up was amazing for entertaining. Lee was very accommodating and made us feel at home. Beautiful view of the lake for our morning coffee. Overall experience exceeded all our expectations. Being in the Northern part of the lake aloud us to be able to experience the crystal clear waters and true beauty of lake George. Would highly recommend this property and will definitely put this on our christmas list for next year.

Charming Lake George Vacation Home!

We have four grown children, and two are married. We were looking for a vacation spot in Lake George where everyone could have their own “space” and also have room enough where we all can join together for family time, games, meals, etc. This sparkling clean, well maintained lake style home was exactly what we were looking for! The kitchen is spacious and well equipped, the grills are convenient, and table space is ample. The campfire area is spacious, and we had a few nice fires with everyone. The dock across the street is private, and we kayaked, swam, relaxed, and had coffee there. The front porch is beautiful and peaceful with a great view of the lake. Away from the hustle and bustle of Lake George, we enjoyed the peace and tranquility of this property. The owners are wonderfully kind and very responsive. A beautiful home at a stunning lake amidst inspiring mountains lead to a perfect vacation week for all of us!

Amazing Week!!

We spent a wonderful week with our children and grandchildren...6 adults and 4 children. The owners were there to greet us and show us around when we arrived. They could not have been nicer. The house is designed to all be together as a family but also allows plenty of places for private time. The view from the front porch is so beautiful and peaceful. Everyone enjoyed using the kayaks, huge raft and SUP that are available with the rental. Plenty of books, games, etc. for all ages. The house is located above the lake so there are a lot of stairs but before we rented Lee and Marika did advise us of this expressing concern that a couple of our grandchildren were 4 and under. So many things to do around Hague....we all forgot just how beautiful and clean the lake is. We will be back....thank you again for opening your home to us!

Perfect Vacation Spot

We loved this home. Clean and very comfortable with plenty of room for our large group of adults. We love Hauge and this house was the perfect find. The two houses gave plenty of room to spread out. It felt like visiting a friend's lake house. We spent the mornings drinking coffee on the dock before paddling around the local islands with the kayaks that are provided with the house. We fished and swam off the dock, there is a sandy bottom in the area around the docks. We rented a boat for the week from Dockside Marina, (they are just a few steps from the house) which provided us with a nice deck boat plus water-skis and tube. We bbq'd in the evenings and enjoyed a few bonfire nights. On the one rainy day we sat in the living room playing board games. There is ample room for 8 people without feeling crowded. The homeowners are great! Very friendly and met us when we arrived. Kept in touch to when we had a wicked storm one night to let us know where to find candles and flashlights in case of loss of power. Very sad to leave and we look forward to returning.

Fun Family Getaway

We just got back from staying at Overlake in Hague in North Lake George. The owners Lee and Marijke could not have been more helpful and accommodating. They were there to greet us and give us a tour of their beautiful home. Lee gave us his cell and said we could call or text with any questions during the week. Lee reached out to check on us early on and gave us some restaurant ideas. He even went out of his way to contact a boating company to inquire about renting a boat for the day. The kitchen was fully stocked. Beds were comfortable. Plenty of blankets and pillows. So many water toys...kayaks, stand up paddle board which my teenage children absolutely loved and a fun blow up chair to swim to from the dock and then relax on for hours. It fit 4 grown adults comfortably. Let's not forget the tree swing!! We made sure we went on it every day. So fun! Lee and Marijke...thank you for sharing your beautiful lake house this past week. We made some great family memories!

Overlake - Our Family Loved it

Property is located in a beautiful part of northern Lake George. Ticonderoga is near, so quick trips for a pizza pick-up, ice cream or WalMart shopping are little bother. The owners met us for check-in, and gave us a very informative tour. The pride they take in the property was obvious. We spent much time on the well-maintained deck and docks at the edge of the lake. As a bonus, we got a surprise text from the owner telling us of a fireworks display on Hague beach. They were 100% visible from the docks, and we enjoyed being able to cook on the deck, swim in the lake, and cap it off with an excellent show. All amenities were as described in the listing, and we had no problems with any of them. Steps to the lake may be difficult for those with mobility issues, but it's obvious they are working to improve them. We did wish there was lighting immediately over the dining table, not for meals, but for games and crafts. We had no problems seating 10 for meals. All in all, Lee and Marijke provided us an opportunity for a great weekend in a good location, and we would not hesitate to book the property again. Oh, almost forgot... there is a 'secret' rustic swing for the adventurous. Our grandkids (and even Grand-pa) enjoyed it greatly!!

All you could ask for wonderful family vacation spot with spectacular view of beautiful Lake George

We are a family of six and each of our four children, ages 14 to 22, brought a friend! We thoroughly enjoyed every aspect of this property, from the dock to the well appointed house! The owners supply such a wonderful assortment of lake toys, which normally come at an additional cost! The lounge float, kayaks and paddle board were a huge hit with all of us and there were many hours spent enjoying them. The dock itself was a great hang out spot for fishing and listening to music and enjoying the stars. The main house and barn were spacious enough to give everyone their own space, the large dining table that sat all ten of us was a great spot for meals and games at night. The family room was furnished simply with very comfortable couches. The kitchen was very well stocked with pots, cooking tools and all you could need to prepare meals. The "barn" bedroom was very comfy with private bath and the kids loft was a great spot for the teens to hang out at night when they wanted their own space. The home exudes the love and attention that the owners have obviously put into every detail of decor and furnishings. The owners were on site when we arrived to show us around and they were very helpful pointing out restaurants and hiking trails that we would enjoy. They were a delightful couple that want you to enjoy their family home. All in all this was one of our best family vacations and we did not want to leave! We look forward to returning in the very near future!

Beautiful House at the quiet north end!

If you have looked closely at this listing along with many others, this house has one obvious downside...there is a road between the house and the dock. As soon as you accept that, this place is fantastic! We have stayed at several houses along Lake George, and we had a great time at Overlake! The house AND the "barn" BOTH sleep people very comfortably! The house and the "barn" both have clean, updated bathrooms. The property has every modern amenity available; yet still has the wonderful Adirondack "camp" feel to it! The dock is the best we have ever had on the Lake - very sturdy, plenty of bumpers, and even whips to keep your boat off the well protected dock with 5-6 feet of depth at the end. We have a 24' boat that had lots of room and depth to spare. The dock even had a grill, bar, lots of seating, and an 8 person floating "island" to enjoy! Many rentals leave you looking for a decent pan or bowl in the kitchen, yet this house truly has you feeling like you are just borrowing a friends house that isn't rented out. Everything you could want from good pots and pans, cooking utensils, knives, etc. were available in the kitchen. There was even firewood and kerosene available onsite if you wanted to have a campfire in their outdoor fire pit! We met the owners on day one and they were very friendly and inviting. This house is on the top of our list to rent again!

The quintessential Lake George experience

Firstly, Lee and Marijke are great hosts. You can tell they love the house and property. They met us at the house and showed us around the property and pointed out any quirks to the cabin to make our stay easier. Lee is super responsive to any questions or issues. The house is the perfect Lake George Camp. Three bedrooms, single bathroom, good living space. The kitchen is nicely stocked with quality pots/pans/knives/everything you need. But the bonus is really the barn. There is another master bedroom with its own bathroom and then a good loft with several twins with its own half bath. The layout works great if you are coming with adult siblings/spouses and kids. Everyone has some privacy to retreat to. We really loved the front porch. The lakefront and dock are all great. Sandy bottom. Dock space for your boat. We really liked the privacy of both the lakefront and property. The single negative is the steps from lake to house. Its a good 4 flights of stairs. Two and half from the lake to the road and one and half from the road to the house. The pictures show it. If you do google road view, you can see the concrete stairs from the road to the house. We just made sure to gather everything we needed and minimized the number of times we went back and forth. No A/C, but lots of fans in the house (thanks for that!). We loved it and will be back next year. Thanks Lee and Marijke.

Delightful!

What a delightful property! The owners are fun, flexible, and organized. The house(s) made it easy to have two families of 4 stay together, yet still have their own space. Our boys (12-16 yrs. old) loved to hang out/sleep in the upstairs part of the shed. We heard lots of laughter coming from the shed at night. The kitchen is a functioning kitchen with spices, pots & pans, blenders...everything you would need. It's wonderful to sit on the front porch and enjoy the view and breeze. Behind the house is a great spot for yard games or throwing a ball around... and on the side of the house is a fire-pit with enough seating for 10 people...and a tree house! This property has many charming and unique features. Plus another frig in the shed. :) The only drawback is the road you need to cross to get to the fantastic dock the owners have set up. Caution is needed. But, the deck/dock...oh my...it's wonderful! The deck at the dock has stools to pull up to a wonderful bar. There is also a grill, tubs filled with supplies for bbq, kayaks, a paddle boat, and the best part is the ginormous raft anchored to the bottom of the lake! The water is clear and clean. We also rented a boat and kept it at the dock for the week. We had a really great time staying at The Overlake House. Created lots of great memories. There's so many things to do in the area. We had a fabulous week! Thank you Lee!!

A classic Adirondacks lake house

We just returned from a week at Overlake and it was one of the most memorable and special family vacations we have had. A main reason for that was the setting - Lee's (the owner) charming home. It's perfect. First, you get two homes in one here. The classic main cottage - clean, fast internet, plenty of room and a fantastic porch. Then you also get the barn/hayloft cottage as well. The hayloft is stocked with games and perfect for children. It also stays surprisingly cool. It's attached to the barn and a nice queen sized bedroom with a modern bathroom and tub. A perfect set up for two families. The lake is fantastic. Crystal clear water. Boats coming and going (you are close to a marina). There is a ladder you can maneuver down and a platform to stand on. Between both of the docks is about 3 and a half feet deep so you can stand and hold smaller children. It's almost all sandy around so you don't need to worry about rocks underwater or anything. The view is fantastic. The porch is great. Seeing all the boats out on the lake and sitting back in the Adirondack chairs with a cold drink. Something else you often don't see up on Lake George, especially lakefront, is all the green space this house has. There is a flat, manicured space right in front of the home you can play on that looks out onto the lake. There is also one in the back. There are so many positives to this home but saving the best for last is the owner. Lee and his wife are so down to earth and truly made us feel welcomed. You get the feeling if something were to go wrong they would make sure you could still have a great time and deal with anything else later. This is their family home and they treat it with the respect it deserves. It shows. Thank you Lee and your wife for a great week!

Beautiful Lake views from the house and everything you could need at the dock to enjoy the water

This property is private and clean. The house and barn make it easy to have multiple families enjoy the property. Lee and Marijke have thought of everything to make it easier to enjoy the lake. They have a bbq grill and table on the dock for cooking with bar seating for 5 with additional chairs for 4. They also have a bbq next to the house, so you could grill where every you and your family are hanging out. We were a party of 12 for the first weekend and there was plenty of room for all of us on the dock and in the house. Marijke has tubs under the table on the dock with plastic glasses and paper plates. Their moto of if you finish it replace it, made it stress free to get a feel for the layout the first few days, before we went to to the store to get additional supplies. There was more than enough space for everyone. The house has 3 bedrooms (1 bunk room and 2 rooms with double beds), a bathroom with a tub and shower, a kitchen with a small table and a family room and dining area (that accommodated all 12 of us). The barn has tons of space, with 2 private entrances. The "Master" (in the front part of the barn) has a small porch, double bed, loft with a twin, and bathroom with a tub. Using the barn doors to enter, you can get up to the "Loft" which has 3 twin beds and a game area. Also, through the barn entrance you can get to the powder room, washer and dryer, and extra frig. We weren't expecting the separate entrances; but, it was nice to give the kids separate space to sleep and/or stay up late. The front porch overlooks the lake. While we were there had the pleasure of a full moon and thunder storms. We could see it all from the porch. Many evenings we spent on the dock after dinner. The lake was easy to enjoy from many view points, 2 of the rooms you can see the lake from the beds, dining area, family room, barn deck, front porch and, of course, the dock. 2 things to note. 1.) You have to cross the road to get to the dock. It is tricky to see the road on the the way down to the dock, best method is to get to the 3 from last step and look both ways (you can see better from there). 2.) Some of the walkways around the property are stone and uneven. This property is perfect for families with older kids and not appropriate for young children or an older person that has difficulty getting around. We loved the house and hope to rent it again next year!!

Wonderful Cottage on the North end of Lake George

Overtake is a beautiful cottage, with a barn right behind the cottage. This is an ideal set up for large families. Upon checkin theplace was spotless. When our lils needed a break, they could go to their own separate place. There were plenty of dishes. Glasses, pots and pansand table to accommodate our large family. The waterfront dock is large and fabulous with a grill. We grilled lunch everyday and ate at the bar. Lee and his wife greeted us like we were old Friends. The one con was the cement steps leading down to the dock. This 62 year old gramma and the ones with little ones had a difficult tiime navigating the steep steps. We had a great week. Thank you to the owners for opening up your families home to us. THANKS. BETH
