Great location and comfortable cottage
The cottage is in the perfect spot to enjoy Lake Simcoe (swim on the dock, sunset viewing) and the surrounding area for cycling and exploring. Joan was great and answered all of our questions promptly. We enjoyed our stay!

Charlotte’s Cottage...back in time
Staying in Charlotte’s Cottage is like a trip back in time to my Great-aunt Betty’s house after Uncle Jack died. Inside this roomy and bright home, it was spotlessly clean and tidy. Pictures in the listing are accurate, showing vintage furniture, knick-knacks, and artwork, just as Charlotte left it. The cottage is was very well-stocked with all toiletries, paper products, plenty of kitchen tools/utensils, lots of mugs, and a few condiments. Back den and front sunroom were nice to have quiet personal time. Appliances were quite new. New gas grill was great. Views from front windows of the lake were very nice and sunset at the dock was lovely. Outside, backyard and nice dock/boathouse things were a bit worn with several broken/questionable chairs around, missing Uncle Jack’s loving care. Fishing poles, some beach toys, Inflatables and water shoes were available. Front yard was fun with our frisbee and badminton set. Bring your bikes and canoe/kayak for some great fun. Keep your eyes open for the mink couple!

Awesome antique furnished bungalow!
The inside of the cottage and boat house looked exactly like cottages I remembered visiting while growing up, very nostalgic. Both are fully loaded with anything you could possibly need, from afghan blankets and extra pillows to matches and bbq lighters. We were also surprised to find salt/pepper, condiments, and basic essentials (we were unaware all of this would be here and wouldn't have needed to bring our cooler had we have known!). We brought all essentials from home and then did grocery shopping once we got up to Keswick, I highly recommend Zehr's over Walmart. The boathouse is truly a generous gift. You will find everything you could possibly be looking for as far as water/outdoor fun. All tools needed for the nighttime fire including a fireplace bellow, there's also large inflatable water toys and a very strong air pump to inflate/deflate, water shoes, life jackets, fishing gear, boating accessories, rakes and shovels to clean up the washed-up shells/seaweed. We were constantly at ease anytime we were in need of something - whether it be found in the boathouse or the cottage. With the full moon above us we had a few extremely windy/wavy evenings which caused some seaweed and excessive shells to wash up on shore. With myself raking and my husband pitch forking it into a pile it only took about 20 minutes to clean it up. Well worth the results - take the extra 20 minutes and then enjoy the entire rest of the day! The water stays shallow for a very long time and is pristine crystal clear. We didn't encounter any boat traffic from the direct neighbors so it was safe to lounge on big inflatables/free swim far off the dock while not needing to worry who might be backing out from their dock. Perfect!

Great escape just north of the city!
Charlotte’s Cottage is a cozy place for a small group to spend time away from the city. Everything is clean and easy to use and there’s enough space inside and out. The views of the lake are amazing too!
