Perfect little cottage for family or small group. Great location, walking distace to lake, park and restaurants. Host was great, very responsive Hoping to go back next year for longer.
Place was clean, as advertised n we loved our time out back or walking in neighborhood so much! Hot tub was the perfect way to start or end a lake day or a rainy day. Thank you!
Was a very rustic cottage on a nice property right across from the marina. Limited supplies. Very little cutlery and no dish towels - had to wash after every meal. Only one towel per guest, so recommend bringing your own as well. No extra garbage bags and not sure where to dispose of garbage on checkout - instructions were “dispose off the property”. No outdoor bin - so not sure if we were meant to bring our own garbage home with us?
Felt a little spied on - we had friends over for dinner and immediately were sent a message asking how many people were in the cottage. On a last minute decision, the friends had signed up for the Georgina marathon and couldn’t find accommodation so they ended up staying over. We told the owner we would have 2 guests for one night, but that we would be checking out one night early ( with no expectation of a refund for that night). The owner still charged me an extra $100 despite the fact that he would be incurring no additional costs.
We enjoyed our time at this cottage. The landscaping is beautiful and it is a short walk to town. We enjoyed the use of the BBQ as well as the hot tub. The host was very prompt in replying to all of our questions.
A few recommendations would make it even better. The kitchen has no basic foods (e.g. olive oil, tea, ketchup) aside from coffee, salt and pepper, so this is helpful information for guests to know up front. There are no beach towels available if guests want to visit any of the nearby public beaches on Lake Simcoe. The outside of the property would benefit from a good power wash to clean out dead insects and debris. There is some firewood available at the cottage for an additional charge; however, there was no starter available for the sauna, which also would have been helpful to know in advance.
Our family, 4 adults and a 3 year old, really enjoyed our stay here. The property met and exceeded our expectations. Everything was clean and the location was great. We will definitely be back. Our only suggestions would be to supply some extra bedding/pillows or mention that they are needed in the listing. The grounds are beautiful could possibly use a power wash to get rid of some old spider webs and bugs. Little things. Otherwise it was fantastic!
