Great spot to make the most of Crystal Lake, Beulah, Frankfort, Platter River and more! The house had everything we needed and the hosts were great.Important to note if you have kids: like many homes on the lake, you need to cross a 35 MPH road to access the beach.

Perfect location and very well equipped!! Most cottages in this area are not air conditioned, but this one is and has an amazing kitchen with an air fryer, food processor, blender, toaster, waffle maker and Keurig coffee maker. Private beach and a creek goes through the yard.

The cottage was very clean and had everything we needed for our week long vacation. The only downside was that the property was very close to a rather busy 35 MPH roadway, and most vehicles were traveling much faster than that. The vehicle traffic was consistently loud all week long, to the point where we didn’t want to leave the screen door open or sit on the front porch. The beach access is also very close (within 10-20 feet) to the same roadway. The view of the lake is partially obstructed by two boat lifts and two large pontoons from neighboring properties when you are looking down the lake, though it is still a great view. The cottage itself was wonderful, but we prefer more of a peaceful setting with less noise

Clean Cottage

We enjoyed our week stay at the Creekside cottage. The cottage is clean and well equipped with everything we needed for our weeklong stay. However, the pictures of the dock and lakefront shown in the listing need to be updated in our opinion. There is a large boat lift and a smaller jet ski lift occupying both sides of the dock. There is also a battery pack sitting on the dock. My family was disappointed to have limited use of the dock, swimming area and obstructed view of the lake, which is quite different from the pictures in the listing.

We had a terrific stay in this well-decorated and maintained cottage.

I enjoyed the comfortable furniture and bed and grill. My wife absolutely loved the decor, sinks, shower and cooking supplies. Kids enjoyed Belgian waffles almost every morning. My boy (age 10) enjoyed the YouTube Channel, WiFi, creek jumping, and rocks. My girl (Age 3.5) enjoyed the bunk bed, circular layout ('round and 'round), dock, and rocks. ***Suggest though that the owner take care of the wasp nest growing on the point of the garage roof before it gets out of hand. It didn't bother me, but it would have been an issue had my wife or kids noticed it, or had I mentioned it *** A beautiful part of Michigan that we had never seen and experienced before. We had a great time and for me some good rest from the daily grind. We look forward to a return visit down the road when the kids are a little bit older.

Cute cottage!

Very cute, quaint cottage with a comfortable, clean interior. Plenty of room for the 4 of us (parents, teenage daughters). Great location for walking and biking into Beulah. Sunsets from the dock were amazing. Kitchen was well stocked, and we appreciated the welcome basket! WiFi was strong and allowed for some remote work via zoom. We would stay again for sure. Thanks!

Cozy Gem

We had a wonderful stay at this property. The coordination of color is impressive and it is well kept! The welcome was warm (thank you for your thoughtfulness), and the house had everything we needed, with views of the sunset (the fire pit across the street had ample seating and a nice dock and made for nice evenings at “home”). It is in a great location to visit the Sleeping Bear Dunes, or to take a trip to Traverse City (among many other great northern Michigan spots). The town of Beulah is cute, with a nice little beach on the lake where kids can swing/play on play set (there is a tennis court too). It was great!

My husband and I traveled to celebrate our anniversary. This little house is perfectly decorated and has every kitchen took you could need. Crystal Lake is breathtaking and the sunsets were beyond belief! Josh was quick to respond if anything was needed. The only downfall of this property is no washer and dryer.

Owner communication (pdf documents) were detailed and complete. Cottage was clean and super cute. Very nice welcome basket greeted our arrival. Loved the dock area where we launched our kayak and drank beers in the evening. Beautiful setting.

Great up-north cottage!

This was a beautiful cottage, located centrally for all of your up-north fun! It was incredibly comfortable and fully loaded with all of the necessary amenities and then some. Beds were super comfortable, the house was as neat as a pin, and the kitchen was a cook's delight. The wifi was perfect for those of you still having to work on vacation (online meetings and phone connection worked great). The property was in a great location- within easy driving distance to Frankfort, Beulah, Benzonia, and then farther north to the dunes and lots of great beaches. Crystal Lake is a beauty, and you won't be disappointed with your great sunset views from the beach area. We swam off the dock and walked to the sandbar just past the dock for some lovely swimming. Our party had grandparents down to grandkids (9 and 11) and everyone was able to enjoy the lake. There is a road between the property and beach area, and our older kids were able to do the road crossing as it wasn't too busy. Overall, we had a great time. The property is a short drive to Riverside Canoe Rentals and the Platte River/Lake Michigan beach area. We took full advantage of this! The property owners have clearly put a lot of thought and attention into maintaining the house and making sure guests are comfortable. Thank you for the great stay!

Amazing little place!

What a great place! I've been going to Crystal Lake since I was born, I've stayed pretty much every place there is. This was by far one of the nicest places I've stayed at! The place is fully loaded with anything and everything you'll need. The owners left us a nice gift basket and a thank you note. In 39 years of staying at places around this lake, I've never received anything like that. They truely have a beautiful spot and we'll be back again!

Wonderful Stay!

Our family of 5 had a wonderful stay at this adorable cottage. Sunsets were beautiful and peaceful. Very clean and comfortable. Had everything we needed, our kids loved it. I loved how cozy and quaint it was for our family. The seasonal decor and welcome basket were extra special touches that were very much appreciated! Good location and Beautiful drives during the Fall season to Sleepy Bear Dunes and Leland.

Our family has been fortunate to spend summers in northern Michigan at a family cottage and wanted to find an opportunity to renovate our own cottage that could be used by our family and shared with yours. We have taken a lot of time, effort and sweat equity to update this cottage, creating a cozy place for relaxation while still offering the amenities of a higher end home. Unique features such as a hammered copper farm sink surrounded by exquisite solid surface counters create a cooking atmosphere that will bring out the chef in you! A living room with seating for up to 8 includes 2 brand new leather pieces along with a few eclectic pieces. You'll find a hint of shabby-chic decor, some rustic elements as well as some modern touches throughout. Our goal is to offer our guests a get away they can't wait to return to.

Why they chose this property

We chose this property due to the beauty of Crystal Lake, the surrounding opportunities in northern Michigan as well as some of the unique features of the property itself including the natural wetlands with the beautiful sound of a natural creek running right through the middle of the property. We plan to add to the list of renovations in the near future including slider doors off the living space, a sizable front deck for outdoor entertainment and an updated tile shower in the bathroom.
