What a lovely space! We had a great time - Ray’s place is perfect and just as described. It was very well appointed and was the perfect mix of feeling like a country retreat but being just minutes away from town. 10/10 would stay again
We had a wonderful five days in New Paltz! The accommodations were marvelous, and Ray was a perfect host: friendly and available as needed. We especially enjoyed sitting on the covered back porch overlooking the pond. Ray and his space are highly recommended. Thanks!
Perfect cozy farm house for visiting SUNY New Paltz
The property was beautiful, loved the trees and pond and chickens! The house was historic and charming and cozy, loved the farm house decor, beds were very comfortable. Loved how close the house is to campus.
Ray’s place is a wonderful oasis of relaxation, calm and beauty. Our family really enjoyed the quiet of the space and the beautiful grounds of the home. We loved how the house was close to town but also very quiet. We would love to return again.
The location in New Paltz can't be beat. The property around the house is beautiful and makes for a lovely walk. Comfortable stay and Ray is very available for any questions/concerns. Our kids enjoyed watching the chickens that live under the porch. Would love to stay here again.
It was a wonderful experience. Ray is an amazing host who saw to making sure we were enjoying our stay. The location is perfect with easy access to town but still in the country. Morning coffee with the chickens was a delight.
We loved our stay on Ray's farm. A great place for your family to unwind and relax in nature. A clean home with beautiful surroundings, a great host and close proximity to all. Can't ask for more than that. We plan to return to see the fall foliage. Thanks for a great stay Ray!
Such a neat little cottage. We loved the quiet and peaceful surroundings and the homey feel of the place. Handmade quilts on the twin beds, fabulous chicken art, woodstove, comfy big chairs and couch. Ray brought us eggs our first morning, laid by the small but beautiful flock. Thanks for such a comfortable and friendly stay - it was just our kind of place!
Check-in was very easy, Ray and his partner were responsive to messages with questions, and the property and porches were so great to hang out on at night once our kids were asleep. More attention to detail in regards to cleaning would be good, and some WD-40 would come in handy for the bedroom doors after bedtime (we have 3 light sleeper kids!), but overall it was a good experience.
My husband and I couldn’t have asked for a better stay in New Paltz. The location of the house is perfect - less than 5 minutes to restaurants/shops/grocery stores in town, yet you still feel like you’re in the country. The property is big and beautiful, with a lovely walking trail, fire pit, and pond. The house was clean, cozy, and spacious. The owner Ray was very friendly, accommodating, and easy to reach, but still giving us our space/privacy. We will definitely be back!
This is a wonderful country farm house built in the 1800's but renovated with all the luxuries of a modern house.
The property it sits on is beautiful with a pond and trails and a welcoming committee of six free range chickens... the ladies.
The owner is friendly and communicates promptly.
This made our stay very special. Don't miss the experience!
The house was beautifully decorated and cozy!! Loved the view and the walk around the pond! Loved how close it was to the town and university. Loved the fresh eggs! A great place to stay! Would definitely stay again!
A nice cozy little place to stay. The house has two porches and a great view from the back porch. The host has a few chickens, he even offered us some fresh eggs! It was reasonably priced but a little hard to get to from the festival we were attending on the other side of the river. It worked fine though.
Perfect place to relax! Property is so pretty and so close to stores and restaurants. New Paltz and Kingston are fun to explore. House was great! Kitchen had everything we needed for vacation cooking, bed and furnishings so comfortable. Everything was was in great shape and clean.Back porch was my favorite place to have morning coffee.Ray is a gracious host and we loved the eggs from his lovely chickens.
Nice place! Great location. Just minutes to town, yet has a country feel. Of course, the chickens roaming the grounds don’t hurt here! And Ray is a very accommodating host. It was a great 9 days.
We had a delightful stay at this property. The setting is beautiful, overlooking a pond with a large yard. We enjoyed walking on the mow grass pathway around the pond. Seeing the chickens walking around freely and a butterscotch cat added all the more to the old farmhouse feel. The rooms are well appointed and the kitchen had everything we needed. Our last day and a half occurred during very hot weather, but the air conditioning handled it without any trouble.Ray was very responsive to our questions and was very generous to honor our requests. He even gave us a half dozen very fresh eggs that we enjoyed for breakfast. This unit is only a few minutes away from the heart of the New Paltz village but it has a very rural feel. We highly recommend it.
