Ocean Oak--Koala
We have stayed at Ocean Oak in the past, so we knew we would have a good return trip to Hilton Head. The property is kept in great condition. The rooms are perfect for a family, 2 bedrooms, two bathrooms, full kitchen, in room laundry, nice family room and a large patio with 4 chairs and 2 side tables. It has 2 large pools and hot tubs and a quality pool-side bar/restaurant open from 8 to 8. It has on-site parking, we always easily found a spot except on the busiest day, July 3rd after a late dinner (the front desk staff helped out and created a spot for us). The beach access is also excellent, it's only a short walk from any part of the resort to the beach. Beach chair rentals are available if you don't have room in your vehicle to bring your own.The resort location on the Island is excellent. It is between Coligny Beach park and Sea Pines. It's close enough to to shopping at Coligny that you can walk if you want, but far enough to stay away from the crowds. Being near Sea Pines is also and advantage. We biked to Harbour Town and South Beach several times on their extensive bike trail.
