Great Stay! Beautiful Cabin that was redone by the host and designed with wood cut from their own lumber yard. They were incredible hosts that made our stay comfortable and they went above and beyond to make sure our needs were met. I'd stay here 100 times.
We enjoyed the house very much. Was exactly as advertised and the owner was very nice and met us there to make sure we got in and was all set. Highly recommend!!
Location, Location, Location and the house was perfect in everyway....this will be my go to place in Asheville !!!! I try to visit family there several times a year and I will look for no other rental when this one is available!
We loved the location. It was close to the Biltmore which we had a lot of stuff planned. We also love the fire pit ...It was very nice place and would book it again.

Great cabin close to downtown
Excellent location for quickly hopping out to downtown Asheville or venturing farther out to places like DuPont State Forest. Hosts were helpful and accommodating, and the property is simply fun to be on. Kids played by the pond, explored the woods, saw wild deer, and a few horses appeared one morning.

Awesome stay!
This house was just as advertised, a quiet getaway from downtown Asheville. The property is gorgeous and is the perfect atmosphere to relax and enjoy the night sky of Asheville after a day at the breweries. Michelle was a fantastic host! Even calling me a day or two prior to give me a rundown of the property and ask if I had any questions. Would definitely recommend and stay again.
We couldn’t have had a better experience and stay. From the frozen pond to the 20 acres to run on. The cabin was cozy and we had more than enough room for all four of us.
We loved the true wood burning stove and the wood finishing throughout the house. It was central located to downtown Asheville and skiing. Thank y’all so much

Nice cabin
Stayed in mid October and almost peak foliage. Cabin is exactly as described- in the woods with swimming pond ( too cold for us to use!). It’s rustic so doors don’t always latch and toilet makes strange noises but very cozy with beautiful wood throughout. Perfect for our dog who gave it a 10 star rating. Cabin close to everything. Beds very comfortable. Michele was there to greet and give vacation suggestions.

Perfect Place! Great Stay!!!
The cabin was awesome, secluded yet close to everything. Beautiful setting, wildlife, pond and a horse in the meadow! Plenty of room and everything you need for a great time indoors and out. Big firepit outside was perfect for chilly spring nights. Cabin was clean, roomy and well stocked. Our hosts Michele & Don were very accommodating with great communication. We couldn't have asked for nicer hosts, they were great! Biltmore, downtown, BBQ & breweries all super close. Great week in Asheville, we will be back!

Met with five friends at this location that had 20 full acres to explore. Awesome fire pit! Beautiful interior that gives a great mountain/cabin feel. Inside was built from wood from the wood mill across the street. $12 Uber to downtown. Down the street from Highland Brewing. We will be back was a great time with a lot of space and on-site activities.

Private getaway just outside town.
Sitting outside drinking the morning coffee while overlooking the pond. If this sounds relaxing, well it is. The cabin was very well appointed with lovely woodwork throughout. Spent a long weekend at the cabin and couldn't be happier- it was close to town, close to breweries, and close to the major roads, but just far enough away that you felt isolated. The beds were very comfortable, ceiling fans in each bedroom, and plenty of space to accommodate the 6 of us plus the dog. We are already discussing our next visit.
We are NC locals and were supposed to drive up and stay at this location the weekend of Helene. They were the first contact we had from Asheville, as there was no power or service. We had no idea the level of danger we would have been in if we had driven out there. They took the time to contact us and cancel our trip, as well as offer us a refund. Such kind people, and I hope someday when its appropriate for us to go out there, we get to stay at this beautiful property.
We stayed at the cabin for a week an it couldn't have been better! Perfect location, secluded but yet close & convenient to the Biltmore, breweries & downtown Asheville. Owners Michele & Don were great, excellent communication! They gave us great suggestions and tips for travel around the area. Super friendly and accommodating! Then property itself on a beautiful setting complete with a pond, firepit and horse in the meadow. Cabin very clean and had everything we needed and more! So awesome having morning coffee looking out over the pond at the horse and wild turkeys in the meadow! Thanks Michele & Don, we will get back! 10 STARS********** Kelly & Julia
We had such a great time at this cabin. The location is perfect. It’s such a great property with this rustic cabin tucked in the woods. However, you are only five minutes away from Asheville with all of the restaurants and shopping. The pond is so pretty, especially first thing in the morning. It was so quiet and you can sit on the porch in the morning, sipping your coffee and viewing the wildlife. The owner was available For questions and was very open and welcoming. The cabin has everything that you could possibly need. All we had to bring was food. We plan to return in the future, hopefully for an entire week. The weekend went by much too fast.

Asheville Stay at cabin in the woods
Check in was easy and owners were helpful with advice for area activities. The location was great for Biltmore Estates downtown shops and Restaurants. Outdoor grounds were beautiful and enjoyed watching the wildlife. Reason for the 2 star review was the cabin itself was very musty and damp. We had to empty the dehumidifier at least once a day and it didn’t keep up. The filter was completely covered in dust and dirt and I took it off and went outside to broom it off. The floors had lots of dead ant carcasses in all the rooms. One of the twin beds creaked with every move. The master bathroom shower had some issues with the faucet not being properly labeled for on and off or hot and cold. Over all the cabin was not cleaned well and we actually checked out 2 days early because of all these issues.

Response from VrboOwner on 30 June 2023
From the owner:
"Becky, I'm so sorry that your stay was less than enjoyable. Please know that we as rental owners will always respond to any guest's concerns as soon as we are informed as was proven when you reached out regarding having trouble turning on the shower. We have since labeled the shower valves so that guests won't pull on them but instead will turn them in the proper direction to start the flow of water.
-The region itself is a temperate rainforest and for this reason, we have installed a dehumidifier in the home. The week prior to your arrival had been particularly rainy. This would explain the "musty dampness". The dehumidifier does fill up daily because of this during the spring and summer months. Had I known of your concern I would have been happy to empty it while I was there to assist with the shower usage. However, I have let my housekeeper know that she needs to be more vigilant with the cleaning of the appliance.
-With regards to the dead ant carcasses, please know that we have a quarterly pest service on retainer. They had come on May 30 for standard treatment. And while we do regret the events that took place, we are happy to report that no issues were reported by our cleaning team or the guests who stayed the following weekend. Unfortunately, we were unaware, that there was an insect problem until our housekeeper arrived after your departure. I'm sorry they were not spotted before your stay. There have been no more sightings and we will continue to stay on top of the home protection quarterly.
-The creaky bed is a new concern. I'll have to look it over and see if there is anything that needs to be tightened. No other guest has informed me of this to date. Had we been notified of any or all of these concerns, I would have addressed them while you were in residence.
-As rental owners, we take pride in addressing all concerns so long as we are made aware of the issue. I only wish you had chosen to reach out to me directly. I'm glad you enjoyed the wildlife sightings, my only regret is that I was unable to inform you of when the bears were scheduled to appear as they do in Gatlinburg."
Thanks for letting us know about your stay!
5 old guys had a wonderful time staying at this property. it was set up just right. outdoor fire pit to hang out by. indoor fireplace to catch-up around. comfortable furniture and beds. A great place. highly recommend.
We could not have designed more perfect accommodations. Every detail in this charming cabin was so well thought out. Our family was so comfortable & the location was lovely. Will definitely stay again.
Michelle and Don were super hosts.. Check-in was flawless, the place was exactly as listed on the website. The grounds were neat and well kept. Abundant firewood for the fireplace and outside fire pit. We enjoyed the pond and the outdoor area as much as possible. . (Hurricane Ian) was present during much of our stay. Don checked in on us and invited us to tour the sawmill across the way. It was a perfect stay and we will be back.
The host is very personable, and attentive. The property is well stocked with the things we needed. The property feels very secluded, despite being only a few minutes from restaurants, groceries, and breweries. Downtown is only about 15 minutes away, and we didn’t really encounter major traffic problems between there and the cabin. Well worth it.
This property was fantastic for our family of five (adults and older teens plus two dogs). It's only ten minutes from downtown, but it's secluded and feels like it's up in the mountains all by itself. Lots of good food and beer in the area if you don't want to go downtown. Working with the owners was seamless and they were fantastic to deal with. Definitely a jewel in the Asheville area. We had a great weekend!
The house was in a great location, quiet, and had a fully stocked kitchen! The house is dog friendly so could use a deep clean but was a great space for relaxing with an easy 10 mins ride to Asheville attractions.
