This was our second trip to the camp in four years and we still loved it. The property needs some updating but when you are looking to get away from the unnecessary hustling of Corporate life, it's a great place. Cozy cabins right on the water and far enough from the roads so it's always quiet. We'll be back again.

The pictures were very deceptive. It looked as if the cottage was situated next to the lake but there roadway parking area was in between and there was no yard by the lake. It was a steep climb from the parking area to the high cottage steps, uneven and full of roots, stones and debris. Tough to carry things in snd out. But the big surprise was the cabin. I was expecting a 1 bedroom but the bed was in the main area. There was one other little room with a love seat and nothing else in it except a small lamp. The whole space was poorly lit and it was not at all insulated. Since one night was 34 degrees we tried to turn on the heater but it did not work. It was clean. That’s the best I can say about it. Other than that, it was very disappointing and definitely not worth what we paid.

Camp #2

We loved our stay, were very comfortable. Only recommendation would be to print directions on regulating water temps, not everyone is used to an on demand system. We loved the cabin, and hated to leave! Thank you!

Hi Jackie I am glad you had a good stay and sorry for any confusion. The on demand water heaters are locked at the recomended temperatures of the heating company so you don't need to adjust the temperature on them. Again sorry for any confusion and thank you for your stay.

Lake Brasau

We had a great time at the cabin! The lake and the sunsets are stunning. Eric and his wife are very nice. Eric showed us how to find a moose and we and we saw one that night. It was so exciting. The door is all so wood and rentals of kayaks for a small fee which is great. We would definitely come back.

The cabin was located on a lake, and as advertised a beautiful setting. Nice screened in front porch over looking the lake. The mattress was a disaster, lumpy and no support. The bed totally filled the bedroom with the bed pushed up against the doorway, and we literally had to crawl over eachother to exit. I tried sleeping on the fold out bed and it was even worse with springs sticking in my back. Also, the floor was rotting and beginning to cave in near the entryway. Needs repairs and NEW MATTRESSES.

Beautiful Lakeside Cabin!

Enjoyed the beautiful lake view directly from our cabin. The screened-in porch was perfect! We were able to sit on the porch, with our dog, and bask in the sunlight/take in the gorgeous lake view. Our dog loved relaxing on the porch, watching the roosters roam.

Great spot for a secluded getaway

We loved the location and view at Brassua Lake! It was far enough off the road to provide peace and quiet but close enough to the activities in and around Rockwood. The screened porch is a great spot for bird watchers and lakefront sunsets. Host was quite responsive when we had questions.

About the host

Hosted by Eric Dauphinee

Host profile image
My wife and I are originally from Maine and have recently moved back. We have five kids and stay fairly busy between work, the kids, and the camps. The kids love playing on the beach and we enjoy taking out kayaks in the mornings when the lake is just as smooth as a bottle. We hope to create a very family friendly atmosphere at Brassua Lake Camps and look forward to meeting our new guests.

Why they chose this property

We purchased the property because of the location and could not have found a better place to raise our kids. We spent one evening on the beach cooking s'mores watching the sunset over the mountains and we were sold.

What makes this property unique

I am a former contractor and starting to upgrade each of the camps. The camps currently are rustic but well taken care of and clean. We are remodeling cabin two and three's kitchens this winter along with multiple other improvements and adding a dock system.
