Curlew's Call is a fantastic pet-friendly Outer Banks vacation home featuring a private pool and hot tub, views of the Atlantic Ocean and Jockey's Ridge, a spacious layout with a recreation room and den in addition to the main living/dining level, and a convenient location just 50ft from the community walkway to the beach. The Old Nags Head Place neighborhood is beautiful and so convenient; just minutes from restaurants, shopping, OBX attractions, movie theaters and more.

28' x 14' private pool, hot tub, 3 master bedrooms, TVs, Blu-Ray players, DVD players, WIFI, rec room with pool table & wet bar, fireplace, 2 refrigerators. Outside amenities include: pool alarm, multiple decks, a hammock swing, basketball goal, charcoal grill, picnic table, enclosed outside shower, and covered parking.

This home is between the roads and guests will cross the 2 lane Beach Road to access the ocean.

Pets allowed - one dog only (no cats). No smoking/vaping. Please refer to the Rental Agreement while reviewing Rules & Policies for pool opening/closing dates.

Could've been great...

We stayed at "Curlew’s Call" from March 25th-30th. The house itself is beautiful and in a wonderful location. Unfortunately, it had not been maintained well and we had a broken hot tub. It ruined our vacation. PROS: Short walk to the public beach entry Short walk to Jockey’s Ridge State Park Short drive to restaurants & shops Sheets and towels were provided Every bedroom had a private bath Game room - pool table, extra fridge & 2nd living room CONS: Hot tub was broken - It was empty & filthy. Communication & assistance lacking - We called multiple times & just got passed from one person to another. Our problem was never resolved. Spa company didn’t fix the problem & didn’t return as promised. House wasn’t clean - There was sand in the washing machine, dirty cooking utensils, sandy floors, dusty furniture, green algae in the pool & debris in hot tub. TV’s didn’t work in 3 of the 5 bedrooms. This home would’ve been amazing if more care had been taken to maintain it. It’s in a perfect location. We had terrible weather, so not having a hot tub was more than just an inconvenience for us. We chose this home over another one solely because of the hot tub. The lack of response form Village Realty made the situation even worse. When amenities are advertised, you expect them to work. It was a disappointing stay. I would not rent from them again.

We loved the house. We loved the location of the house in relation to the beach, restaurants, shopping and places to explore like Nags Head Woods, Jockey Ridge and Wright Brothers Memorial. It was a pleasure working with Village Realty, we will use them in the future.

October 2018 Stay

Loved the location of the house, very easy access to the beach. Inside is showing some major wear and tear. doors on armoires were broken, master bed needs replaced, sliding doors on multiple levels need new locks. All in all the was not up to our level of expectation with houses we have used in the past. Cleaning crew did sub-standard job as we found food on floor and in/on couch. Was upset that TV and stereo system was not ready for our arrival. It was work on multiple times while we were in the house. With two tween boys and some inclimate weather, this was far from ideal.

We enjoyed our stay. Easy walk to beach. The kitchen was well stocked. No problem with refrigerators. Housekeeping addressed linen and blanket issues promptly. However, the decks, railings & fencing need maintenance (power washing to remove mold & mildew, fence slats loose), including the surface area around the pool. The carpet in the main living area & all stairs is in serious need of heavy duty professional cleaning or better yet, replace both the carpet and padding. The shrubbery needs trimming especially on the side of the house where the walk way is - vines are overgrown and hit you in the face. Pool storage bin is falling apart and toys are broken and moldy. While there were no safety issues during our stay, the appearance of this home could be better. It looks as though the owners are neglecting the property. When you pay a lot for a one week stay, you expect a well maintained home inside and out.

enjoyed the outer Banks!! house is spacious and great location . owners need to spend a little time and effort into deck and railing repairs and maybe update the refrigerators as they weren't working all that well. village reality was extremely pleasant and helpful throughout! thank you!
