Villa Arun

The villa is part of the Sumberkima Hill retreat. Villa Arun is a minimalist style building with 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. One bedroom has a double bed, the other 2 single beds. All beds have mosquito nets. You will have a panoramic view from your bedroom over the hills and sea. The villa has huge outdoor bathrooms where you can take a shower under the umbrella of two frangipani trees. This villa is suitable for 4 people. Villa Anak Arun is in the area of villa Arun and is suitable for 2 people, it has a double bed with bathroom and a small kitchen. When you book the villa with 4 people Villa Anak Arun is not included. Please let us know if you would like to include villa Anak Arun, we can give you a quote.

Villa Arun has a rooftop gazebo with 270 degrees panoramic views on the bay of Sumberkima, the valley and the mountains. A great spot for sunrise and sunset and to hangout during the day and evening. The villa has an L-shaped private pool with a lounge plateau with panoramic views.

Villa Arun has a roof garden.

We have a very good restaurant at the retreat called Suma Restaurant, with great atmosphere and super views on the bay of Sumberkima. Our chef Suma and his team take pride in providing the best possible food. You can check reviews on the opinion of our guests on Tripadvisor. We have a daily changing menu with several choices and you can ask Suma to include your favorite dishes.

Enjoy a massage or spa treatment on site or take a yoga lesson at our beautiful Yoga shala with spectacular views on the bay and nature around you.

Sumberkima is in the north west of Bali, close to Barat National Park and Menjangan Island. Gilimanuk, the port to Java is 25 km to the west. This part of Bali is still unspoiled by mass tourism and you will experience more of the real Bali. From this area Hinduism spread all over Bali. You will find some of the oldest and most important temples here.The coastline has several beautiful bays with large areas of shallow reefs.

Sumberkima is a good base for adventures with the sea and the jungle on our doorstep. It is one of the best places in Bali for diving and snorkelling with Menjangan Island and the Biorock project in Pemuteran. One of the safest places to learn to dive and get your PADI. We have a very good dive instructor connected to the retreat.

You can take a boat and go fishing or snorkeling and explore the small islands and the various bays in the area. We have beautiful coral and fish in the bay of Sumberkima.

You can also trek inland and go on a jungle tour or visit the Barat National Park. Check out some of the most spectacular waterfalls in Bali. A great trip is to go over to Java early in the morning and climb Kawa Ijen, a volcano with amazing scenery and sulfur miners that carry 80 kg buckets with sulfur out of the crater. At night you can see the blue fire and then watch sunrise.

However, simply walking around Sumberkima is a perfect way to see this part of Bali. Sumberkima offers a great variety in landscape, rice paddies, jungle, beaches, coconut groves and mangrove. And above all wonderful hospitable friendly people.
