- HOUSE RULES Aloha and Welcome. It is my goal to make your stay here both meaningful and memorable. If there is anything that I may do to assist you with your vacation experience, please do not hesitate to ask. Local calls are free. Any charge calls must be charged to a phone card or credit card. High Speed wireless internet access is free. This suite is equipped with all appliances for your convenience and comfort. We ask that you please help us to conserve our precious resources by following these suggested guidelines: . Wash clothes only in cold water and please wait until you have a full load. Conserve your water use. . Limit the use of the air conditioner by lowering the shades during afternoon sun and using the ceiling fans. Please remember to turn off the air conditioner and fans each time you leave. . Turn off all lights and appliances as well as lower the lanai shades and close the lanai door each time you leave. . Please help us recycle. You will find the recycling bins and the trash chutes next to the elevator. Please recycle paper, cardboard, aluminum cans, and glass. Other trash must be first bagged before placing in the trash chute. Plastic garbage bags are provided. Please refrain from using the trash chute from 9:00 p.m. until 8:00 a.m. Our resort is very quiet and peaceful. Normally, the only sound you hear is the sound of the surf! Please refrain from making noise that could disturb your neighbors at any time of the day. This is particularly important from 10:00 p.m. until 8:00 a.m and includes the parking lot and elevator quiet zones. You are responsible at all times for the behavior of your children or child guests. PLEASE HELP US KEEP SAND OUT OF THE SUITE. Please shower and wash your feet and all beach gear prior to returning from the beach to the Suite. There are fresh water showers at the beach park across the street as well as on property at the FOOT WASH (located in the southwest corner of the property-look for the sign when you come back from the beach) and at the swimming pool. Please leave beach shoes and beach gear outside on the entryway. Please keep all shoes off the carpet (this is an old Hawaiian custom that we adopted from the Japanese). Our beautiful, solar heated swimming pool is located on the west side of the property. You will be able to see the pool from the lanai. PLEASE BE WARNED: USE OF THE SWIMMING POOL IS AT YOUR OWN RISK. THERE IS NO LIFEGUARD ON DUTY. Please read and observe all of the rules posted at the swimming pool. Everyone is required to observe these rules. All children must be accompanied and supervised by a responsible adult at all times. Pool hours are 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. The roof top garden is located on the seventh floor. It is best to begin your Barbeque well before or after sunset because many people gather on the roof for sunset. There is often a 'party' atmosphere on the roof at sunset. We are polite to one another about sharing space on the grill. The gas grills are not 'reserved' and are on a first come first serve basis. Although the view is sensational on the roof and you may wish to have your meal on the roof top garden, the view in your suite is just as good and more private. The roof top garden is nice in the morning as well. The view of Haleakala is fantastic from the rooftop garden also. Children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult. Barbequing and cooking on the lanai is prohibited. The common areas, including the lobby, corridors, elevator, parking areas, roof top garden, lawns and pool are for everyone's use and enjoyment. Therefore, the following activities are strictly prohibited in the common areas: running, horseplay, bike riding, skateboards, scooters, roller blading, ball playing, frisbee and any unnecessary noise. Please do not hang anything from the railings on the lanai or the walkways. There is a drying rack for beach towels and swim wear provided on the lanai. Do not allow anything to fall off the lanai. Please refrain from shaking or throwing anything from the lanai or walkway. Anything that falls from the lanai would go directly into our neighbor’s lanai. The emergency broadcast system siren is tested at 11:45 a.m. on the first business day of the month. Please do not be alarmed by the test. All types of fireworks including sparklers are prohibited anywhere on the property. On the 4th of July and New Years Eve, we go to the beach to watch fireworks or attend one of the professional public fireworks displays. In the event of an emergency-fire, medical aid or police, call 911. Mail is delivered between 11:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. A mail drop is located in the lobby. Please let me know if you are expecting to receive any mail as I have the key to our mail box. Maui County law prohibits smoking in all public places and 20 feet from entrances, lobbies, hallways, elevators, and common areas. There is a designated smoking area in the parking lot. Upon arrival, you will need to sign in and get a parking sticker. If you arrive after 5:00 p.m. when the rental office closes, you can sign in and get the parking sticker in the morning. It is best to always leave the key in the lockbox so you don't accidentally lock yourself out. If you are locked out, call my emergency cell number. All animals, except for care giving dogs are prohibited in all areas of the complex. Please do not feed the birds or other animals. There is an 'aloha room' for your use and enjoyment on the lobby level past the mailboxes. The aloha room is a short cut to the pool and features kitchen, restrooms and a living room area with television. There are also books to borrow there. Upon departure we ask that you leave the suite in the same condition that you found it. Please turn off lights, fans, air conditioner, close the lanai door and take out the kitchen garbage. We have complete maid service so you do not need to wash linens/towels or make the beds. It is helpful, however, if you wash your dishes and take out the trash. Maid service is available to you during your stay if you wish it. Although we strive to provide you with a “Five Star Hotel” experience, you will need to bring your own shampoo and conditioner etc. Provided for your use is bar soap, dish soap, and laundry soap. In the kitchen you are provided with coffee filters, sugar, salt, pepper, cooking oil, spices, and some condiments. There is a reverse osmosis water filter in the kitchen sink and refrigerator. So please do not buy bottled water-the bottles will end up in our overtaxed island land fill. If I may provide you with anything further, please ask. I am happy to recommend restaurants, activities and answer any questions that you may have. I am certain that you will love this suite and the time you spend here.
