Woodsy Waterfront Retreat on Gorgeous Balsam Lake

Enjoy this gorgeous lakefront property with views of all 3 islands. Plenty of sleeping space with lake views from every room: room 1 king, room 2 bunk bed queen bottom/twin top, room 3 has 2 queen beds, & downstairs living room pullout couch (sleeps 2 adults or 3 children).

Spread out with an upstairs and downstairs living room both with fireplaces, a game room with a pool table, an office with wifi, plus a large kitchen with an expansive island (seats 6), and dining space (seats 8).

Apart from the main house is a 3-season porch with floor to ceiling windows that includes 2 pull out beds (sleeps 3), full bath, fireplace, and a spacious gaming area with darts & board games.

Outdoors you'll enjoy private lakefront access, a dock, a boathouse deck with amazing views - great for large groups, a gas grill, bonfire pit, and a pickleball court. There is an outdoor shower if you'd like to rinse off after your lake time fun.

This retreat has a long driveway with plenty of parking, including access to the garage (2 stalls). Plus, it's 2 doors down (5 min. walk) from Balsam Lake Lodge where you can enjoy live music and a full bar/restaurant right on the water. The marina with gas is next door. Downtown Balsam Lake with bars, restaurants, and coffee/ice cream shops is 1.5 miles away.

Please start a load of towels to help speed up the cleaning process. Place any remaining used towels in any of the showers.

Please run the dishwasher before leaving and hand wash any remaining dishes.

Failure to complete these may result in a negative review from the host.

This is a beautiful cabin on a nice lake with plenty of sleeping room and wide open spaces to gather inside and out. Unfortunately, the water was not very swimmable due to the dense weeds. Also, we had to stop our afternoon pickleball game and leave the backyard because the lawn service arrived. This was disappointing because we were only there for three days. Lastly, the host was very rude, confrontational, and tried to charge us 200 for tripping a breaker, despite using the outlet properly.

I am sorry to hear the yard person came while you were there, I was not aware of that. As for my response on the breaker, you asked if we had EV charging and I said no. You plugged in anyway and tripped the breaker. I politely asked you to stop. You plugged in again and tripped the breaker again to the point where the garage door wouldn’t close. After we paid an electrician to restore the power and ensure the garage door worked properly you denied any willingness to pay the bill. I’m sorry you find it rude that I asked you to pay for a repair you acknowledged you caused. Best of luck on future rentals.

The property was great! Beautiful setting on Balsam lake with lots of room to spread out. The kitchen/dining area was a highlight of the house and a lot of time was spent gathered there. It was great to be able to walk to Balsam lodge for a boat rental. The hosts were very responsive and kind to work with during the stay! Would definitely recommend !

I have all great things to say! Communication was great, check-in was easy, the listing was 100% accurate, the view was amazing, the location was perfect, the home was comfortable and welcoming. We walked to Balsam Lake Bar & Grill for great food and music the first night. We drove just a short distance to hiking trails and wineries. We spent time on the lake. We loved this girls trip! Thank you for this great vacation location!

You cannot beat this property! We stayed for a week with our 18 and 20 year old sons! Everyone was fully entertained and relaxed all week! Well appointed kitchen! Property amenities and layout supported family time and separate time! Beautiful landscaped yard with easy water access for fishing or floating! We will be back!

We had 2 families with adult children stay here. We had plenty of room. We had a great time and only wish it hadn’t rained as much. We did get one day to enjoy playing pickleball outside on the driveway and then going on the lake for a boat ride. Id say our only complaint would be that 2 pull out couch beds were not comfortable. And the “library desk area” could be better utilized as another room or a twin daybed (trundle bed). Thanks so much! We hope to visit again!
