Family owned and operated, Fox River Country House is ideal for birdwatchers and nature lovers and is just minutes from local attractions (historic Ottawa, Skydive Chicago, village of Norway, Dayton Bluffs, Starved Rock State Park). Secluded property features twenty-plus acres of woods and riverfront, all available to guests via winding pathways. Beautifully maintained two-story house with one king bedroom (attached bath), double room with one full and one twin bed, and two cozy twin rooms. Enjoy stunning views on screened south-facing porch. Open front porch overlooks large, shaded yard with fire pit (free firewood). Huge additional side yard with ample space for outdoor games. Whether you're looking for a peaceful getaway or a fun-filled adventure, Fox River Country House is perfect for any type of traveler.

Note: To complement the "retreat" experience, this property is digitally off-grid (no house wifi), but cell service is generally reliable (depending on carrier) and phone hotspots can work for streaming.

Restful Retreat

My friends and I had such a lovely time away at the farmhouse. It was the perfect place to relax and spend quiet, quality time together!Things we loved:- The huge front porch!- The grounds full of beautiful nature trails and animals- The cozy kitchen stocked with everything we needed- The unplugged seclusion to slow down and rest- the charming historic details and decorJust a heads up for other visitors: - Like any old farmhouse, the home has some endearing quirks: the floor-plan/layout takes some getting used to, the stairs are quite narrow, and the dining room floor is a little slanted.
