CACTUS MOON LODGE:
This is the main lodge, A.K.A. hub of magic! It consists of a grand room with an open concept kitchen, dining room and a cozy living room with large stone fireplace. It overlooks the pool and has canyon views that go on for miles! It also is connected to the star gazing decks and covered porch areas. No bedrooms here, just a space to gather together and enjoy each other's company. All bedrooms are in separate cabins so those that want to stay up late can and those that do not can turn in.

QUEEN OF THE NIGHT:
Named after a very special kind of Orchid Cactus. You have to stay up late to enjoy the opening of this extraordinary cactus, which is shaped like a majestic waterlily. If you are an early riser and usually early to bed - this plant is not for you! The queen of the night cactus flowers between dusk and dawn - for us she is the highlight of the party season.
This is the master suite of dreams! It has a plush king sized bed and 20 foot vaulted ceilings, 15 foot velvet curtains, a dressing room with antique wall mirrors, a view of the canyon, pool and the Texas hill country hills. It has a double sink vanity, a getting ready area along with two bathrooms. One with a shower and one with a clawfoot tub. IT IS PURE BLISS.

GOLDEN BARREL & PRICKLY PEAR
A.K.A. the twinsies. This cabin consists of two rooms that can be joined or separated from one another. Each has a queen sized bed, private sink and private dressing area with a shared toilet and shower room.  These two are situated off of the courtyard and have cozy high thread count sheets, a fluffy duvet and cloud like pillows. DREAMY X 2.

BUNNY EARS
Yes there is a cactus named that! And if you did not know, its fuzzy, cute and quite the charmer. It consists of two twin beds and a full bathroom with floor to ceiling window that over looks a wet weather creek bed and often has deer roaming close by. This one is furthest away from the others but it still gets hopped up WIFI.

MOTHER OF HUNDREDS:
Named after a cactus called Mother of Hundreds because it can form hundreds of large clumps up to 3 feet wide. It can also produces reddish-pink flowers in winter.
This is the largest room at 1500 sq ft. and has a small living room area with a 65" tv (amazon and netflix) and can comfortably sleep 4 with two full size beds. There is also a full size bathroom.  An all white room with exposed white trusses, wall to wall steel and glass doors with vaulted ceilings and round moon window. All of this overlooks a grove of oak trees and opens up to a courtyard surrounded by wild grasses and cactus. This space also has access to a side private deck area.
LET THIS MAMA NURTURE YA!

SILVER ARROW:
Also named after a cactus, this 1964 Shasta vintage travel trailer boasts a bare metal silver exterior and a fun and colorful retro interior. Step back in time in this cozy camper. It has a memory foam twin sized bed, mini fridge, small closet and a dinette table with booth seats. It has a window unit a/c and a space heater for cold nights.  It is connected to a private side deck area that adjoins to the bathroom and shower inside Mother Of Hundreds.

TWO NEW CASITAS!!
#1 DOMINO
Named after the unique and unexpected Domino cactus. This room has incredibly high ceilings, a queen bed, a huge walk in shower and artisan designers touches throughout. With lots of light and large windows you get to enjoy views from almost every angle. The oversized double steel doors lead to a porch with a view for miles and an adjoining wrap around walkway. Domino is a short distance away from the main lodge connected by a gorgeous decked pathway. DEUCE VISTAS.

#2 DESERT DIAMOND
Named after the striking Diamond cactus. You enter through terraced limestone steps, all foraged from the land. This room has incredibly high ceilings, a queen bed, sitting area and massive wood carved wall mirror. Enjoy a huge walk in shower with bench and artisan designers touches throughout. With lots of light and large windows you get to enjoy gorgeous hill country views. The oversized steel entry door connects to a covered porch with an adjoining walkway to the main lodge. A GEM.

BEAUTIFUL, WE’LL DEFINITELY BE BACK!!

This is a MUST stay! We’ve rented homes all over the Hill Country but none as original and creatively built as this one! BEAUTIFUL decor, peaceful surroundings...perfect for the person who wants to get away from it all...but still be near some favorites like Salt Lick BBQ and great shopping in the surrounding areas! WE LOVED THIS HOUSE!!!

Second stay!

Loved this venue so much we came back! Gorgeous setting on a hill just outside Dripping Springs. Big porch where we enjoyed happy hour and dinner. Comfy beds. Beautiful area for long walks. Grandsons enjoyed the hammock. Kitchen was well equipped—including a gas grill which we took advantage of. We’ll be back!

Magical place!

Spring in the Texas Hill Country! I loved the layout of the house. And the views and darling bedrooms were magic. Liz met us at the house and showed us how everything worked. She treated us to welcome wine and took us through all of the local places to breakfast and wine taste. We will stay here again and bring friends.

Great place for our family gathering!

The place is amazing! We stayed here for my son's wedding. The view was gorgeous and the furnishings had great attention to detail. It has a beautiful spot to gather in the main house and privacy in the separate bedrooms. It was everything we had hoped for and more. Liz was fantastic. She was quick to answer questions and super accommodating. Thanks for everything!

Perfect in every way

We had such a wonderful time at the Full Moon Ranch. The property is so beautiful and perfectly designed in every way but is also utterly comfortable and unpretentious. It was super relaxing for the adults, and super fun for the kids. We were able to take quick jaunts to nearby things to do - like the Falls or Stanley's Farmhouse PIzz - but also had tons of pleasure just hanging around the house playing pool or enjoying the amazing views. Liz was a perfect host and we had everything we needed. We had so much fun we are already talking about making it an annual pilgrimage!

Exceptional Hillcountry retreat

This Texas compound really got it right. The interior spaces, courts, porches, and views are all so gracious. This is a lovely and unique home. We spent the weekend here with friends hiking, biking, horseback riding and wine tasting, and this was the perfect place to meet for sharing meals and really enjoying Texas. Am very suprised the Full Moon doesn’t come with its own singer songwriter, that’s the only Texas offering that wasn’t covered here!! Loved it!

Five Stars Isn't Enough! The Full Moon is the BEST!

Our family rented the Full Moon for the parents and grandparents of the bride to stay during our daughter's wedding weekend. The Full Moon is an amazing property. It is obvious that it was built with love - there is such incredible attention to detail. And it was clearly designed as a comfortable gathering spot for friends and family - nothing was overlooked. We stayed for 3 nights and I wish we could have stayed longer. I am certain we will be back! Everyone who stopped by to visit was stunned by the beauty and the amenities. We had 8 adults that stayed for the weekend - everyone had plenty of space and privacy - and the beds were so comfortable. We hosted a 14 person welcome dinner and everyone had plenty of room. Thank you so much! The Full Moon is simply the best!

Paradise

Beautiful, relaxing, fun, spacious…. An experience that will last forever…. So many awesome memories. I would like to make a suggestion… handrails on the steps under the arch would help & make them safer. We also needed more kitchen towels. We were only given 2 for 4 days. The gas was not connected to stove when we were ready to cook. That needs to be checked before each different customer gets there. Those are only minor but could improve the stay:

One of the best places I have EVER stayed!! Coordinating a trip for 7 women held high expectations and every one of us was blown away by the property. The decor, the layout, the view, the rooms, the peace and quiet. We all immediately loved it from the drive up to the entire stay and cannot wait to book our next summer teachers trip here. The BEST VIBES

Look no further for a place to stay. We hosted a family retreat here and we were in awe at the views, the vibe and the details. Everything about this place makes sense and flows naturally. From doing Yoga on the deck to star gazing at night. The space is design for socializing and sharing, plus offers so many different nooks for exploration and photo ops. We will for SURE stay here again. Plus, Liz was so accommodating and responsive. Este lugar nos ha cambiado la vida de una forma muy profunda. We are actually looking forward to inject elements from it to our day to day life and design with it as an inspiration. THANK YOU, Cactus Moon Team.

One of the best VRBOs ever

This is that rare rental property that actually exceeds the description, the photos, and the reviews! If I could give it a grade, it would be an A+. The property is fabulous, so much fun to explore, and so many great rooms to stay in, along with an awesome central space with kitchen/den. Everything was totally spotless - felt brand new. And it cannot be overstated how gorgeous the view is. The property manager is so helpful and kind and communicative - responds right away to any questions. We can't wait to return and are so happy we got to experience Cactus Moon!

Beautiful Hill Country Getaway

We brought a group of eight women together for a weekend retreat, and Full Moon Ranch could not have been more perfect. The open living room, dining room, and kitchen in the main house offered us ideal spaces to gather, study, and connect. We absolutely love the decor -- it's both modern and traditional in just the right balance. The huge back patio gave us time and space to sit quietly outdoors, read a book, and enjoy the birds visiting the feeders. We felt completely at home; it was the perfect escape!

Unique Hill Country Home

This home has to be seen to be believed -- it is just so unique! The decor is eclectic and extremely interesting. The view from the porch is mesmerizing and we enjoyed sitting out there for morning coffee and for sunset cocktails. The kitchen is very well stocked with all of the cooking and dining supplies you could ever need. Each bedroom is detached from the great room, which gave each couple a feeling of complete privacy. The home is will stocked with board games and also has a pool table, fuse ball table, and a corn hole set -- so plenty of things to keep everyone occupied. This home is a perfect place for a large group and we hope to stay there again soon! We LOVED it!!!

Relaxing with Beautiful Views

I just spent 3 nights at this property with 6 other girlfriends, all of us over 70. We loved that the bedrooms were all outside of the main house. If someone stayed up late or got up early, no problem. The main house had a large living area, huge dining table and great kitchen with a large patio off the back overlooking the hill country. Lots to do here. Bocce Ball, Corn Hole, a large game room, TVs. You wouldn't need to go anywhere. The only disadvantage for some might be that there are shared bathrooms in 1 cabin that has 2 queens in their separate rooms. Each has their own vanity but a shared potty and shower. Might be awkward for couples but not for families. Extremely comfortable and very relaxing. The owner was super nice and quickly responded to my questions. We all agreed that we would meet their again if the opportunity arises.

Perfectly Unusual

It's not every day you find a home to rent for special occasions. This was for my son's Rehearsal Dinner and we couldn't be more pleased. We were a bit skeptical pulling up the winding gravel driveway, but off in the distance you could see the ranch sprawled along the top of a ridge. Upon pulling in, we are immediately greeted with the charm! It truly was perfectly unusual. From butterfly gardens, to cactus, to string lights, to adorable out buildings to put your family and friends. This home was 100% fun, quirky and exactly what we were looking for. Amenities were on cue and had plenty of fans if you needed them to cool off. The back deck overlooking the valley was relaxing and put you in the middle of nature. Bird watching and deer were abundant and even an occasional whining horses in the background. Highly Recommend and will certainly come back. The owner was 5 Star, great communicator and made sure of the details. Thank you!

Best reunion spot ever!

We host a reunion of some college classmates. It’s been 9 years since we have done this. Full moon ranch was the perfect place! Why they chose this property

Cactus Moon Lodge is a run by four siblings. Each is a career creative of some sort with a mission to create spaces and experiences for others to enjoy. The name was inspired by their parents. With a mom who grew up in West Texas who had a love for cactus and desert plants and a dad who had a 36 year career at NASA where he planned and directed the space missions and moon landing. (He was also notably given the Presidential Medal of Freedom for helping to save Apollo 13.) Together they instilled the importance of a special place for friends and family to gather and enjoy nature, the stars, full moons and each other. And so Cactus Moon was born.

Gather here, retreat here, find solitude here, celebrate here.  A space to be free, creative and to hit the reset button. We can’t wait to share this magical hideaway with you.

What makes this property unique

Close to wineries, wedding venues, Pedernales State Park, Dripping Springs, Wimberley, Johnson City, Hye and Fredericksburg. The location is West of downtown Dripping Springs by roughly 5 miles. The charming Texas Hill Country towns of Wimberley and Johnson City are 20 miles away and Austin is roughly 25 miles away. Camp Lucy is 3 miles away along with many other wedding venues and Pedernales State Park is 12 miles away. Perfect place to stay to hit the Texas Hill Country winery trails/breweries too!
