Guest Access:
swimming pool, tennis courts and a semiprivate beach, and it’s close to the marina now under construction in Potrero Bay.

The Neighborhood:
Flamingo is a high-end beachfront community notable for its dazzling ocean views and the beautiful, hilly peninsula that juts out into the Pacific, separating Playa Potrero from Playa Flamingo.
Flamingo is home to a wide array of stunning homes and vacation rentals, as well as humbler lodging options, and it has restaurants, grocery stores, banks and other conveniences.
A brand-new, state-of-the-art marina opened to the public in 2022, with slips for yachts and fishing boats, condos for rent and all kinds of shops and restaurants. Other major developments here include the 360 Splendor del Pacifico luxury condominiums on top of the North Ridge, the Margaritaville Beach Resort, and the upscale Mar Vista housing development, where there’s an excellent private school called La Paz.
Good restaurants in town include the Coco Loco, a beachfront eatery known for its coconut drinks and standout cuisine; Marie’s, a reliable standard with a long and enticing menu; Angelina’s, featuring fine Italian dining in an elegant environment; and several options at the Margaritaville, including the 5 O’Clock Somewhere Bar & Grill.
Flamingo was largely developed by foreigners, and it lacks the traditional Costa Rican downtown with a soccer field plaza, church and school. The heart of town is an upscale commercial plaza with stone steps, fountains, restaurants and shops. Farther away on the road to Brasilito, you’ll find smaller restaurants, hotels, banks, hardware stores and the Super Massai grocery store.
Flamingo is more or less the centerpiece of a beautiful coastline stretching from the Reserva Conchal resort in the south to the Las Catalinas resort in the north, with the more traditional Costa Rican towns of Brasilito and Potrero in between. Flamingo is within easy striking distance of several beaches, including Conchal, Flamingo, Potrero, Penca, Prieta, Pan de Azucar and Danta.

Getting Around:
Our agents will be happy to assist you with renting a car, giving you the freedom to explore the area where you want, when you want. For short drives to nearby towns or beaches, golf carts are another popular mode of transportation. You can also rent a bicycle to ride around in town or beyond.

We can arrange transfers to and from the airport. Rental cars can also be delivered to your property at no additional cost, allowing you to relax and enjoy the scenery as our private van drives you here from the airport.

Taxis are available but can be a bit hard to find. Many locals use buses to get around, though there are a limited number of routes and times of day when you can catch them. Private shuttles can be a great option for traveling to nearby destinations, and many tour companies offer transportation to and from the tour. Our information brochure will provide you with useful information on local transportation options and points of interest, as well as contact information for taxis and shuttles.

Other Things to Note:
Special Places of Costa Rica is committed to protecting our properties and keeping up-to-date with short-term rental regulations, which is why you will be asked to complete our independent verification. Before your stay begins, you will need to verify your details with us to complete your booking. You will be contacted via email and/or text to complete the verification. You will also be given the choice between paying a refundable deposit or buying a non-refundable damage waiver. We suggest you buy the damage waiver as this protects you in case you cause accidental damage during a booking.

Disappointed
First of all, the dates above for our stay are incorrect. Our dates were Fe1-February 8, 2024. The Vrbo is in a very nice location in Flamingo Bay. The hallway leading to our rental was deplorable, garbage outside of garbage can; ants crawling. I failed to take a picture. The building itself looks unlivable, the pool area was not usable, filthy. It appeared it hadn't been attended to or upgraded. The entire condo needs to be upgraded, especially the bedding & deck furniture, railings rusted, chairs tattered, the beach chairs rusted out, there were plenty towels & a new iron, no ironing board. There weren't any instructions on how anything works in English, how to lock & unlock the door using the key pad; not even instructions for the TV. The property manager for the hotel side was very helpful even though the management service was up the hill & would have charged a fee if we needed assistance. The owner needs to upgrade the bedding with comfortable mattresses, new sleeping pillows & shams; All the pillows had been drooled on & unsanitary; we refuse to sleep on them; the sheets and pillow cases were dingy & need replacing. The eating utensils need to be upgraded. The owner needs to also add mixing bowls, a colander, relocate the micro wave from above the head, & is dangerously difficult to reach. no washer or dryer, no dishwasher. However, it was not important to us. The view from the lobby & the deck was breath taking. The beach was private & a plus. Thank you.

Great time with a lil inconvenience.
The code to get in and out of the room was very irritating. Another big problem for me was, at the end of my stay you sent a email for me to clean my room, do the dishes, throw away the trash and do laundry. I paid a cleaning fee. I'm on vacation from all this you requested that I do before I leave the room. Not good business. I did clean room and was just disappointed with your request. I been coming here for 8 years and never has this been a request to pay for cleaning fee and I have to clean as much of my room before I leave. View was nice, room was nice, beach was great, the property team that met me the first day was great! He also followed up a day or two later to see if all was good. I love that. Great team also let me check in a lil early and check out a lil later. Staff was Top Notch

Could not contact management company
They replaced the door key with a keyless pad and did not explain how to unlock it very well and did not tell me how to lock it so I couldnt lock the door for a couple days until I finally got an email back explaining how to lock it. I was actually locked into the room a couple times. The condo is older and a little run down on the property around it but the condo itself is exactly like the pictures.f I loved how deep the balcony was because you could stay out of the sun. The location was a llittle creepy staying there alone but there was a security guard so felt better about it after a couple nights. Overall, not the best place I've ever stayed after multiple visits to the area but for the price, It wasnt bad. Just a place to crash and hang out on the balcony.
