Excellent location just a few minutes from downtown Bethel- with a nice Mountain View. Perfect layout for two families with teens. Kitchen had everything needed for cooking. Rex was a great host!
We loved this cabin!! There were two families and the bedrooms were perfect for our kids and the beds were all comfortable! The view was amazing and we loved everything about this cabin. Our kids especially loved the game room!!
It is about 16 minutes from Sunday River and 6 minutes from downtown Bethel. The host was very responsive and easy to work with.
The house was just as described: convenient location, size and the number of bedrooms/bathrooms. It was clean and well stocked with basics. The communication with the property manager was seamless and pleasant. Owner was away at the time of our stay, but reached out prior to let us know. Overall, we are very pleased and would recommend this house to anyone who is looking for a break with friends and/or family. Oh, yeah, and the ping-pong table on the ground floor was a huge hit with the teens!
My kids and I spent NYE weekend at this property and from the minute we walked in we were so impressed with the decor, the space, and the incredible views. I’ve rented a good amount of properties and this one actually exceeded my expectations compared to the photos online. Due to a family emergency, we had to unexpectedly leave early and both Rex and his property manager were so kind and understanding. We hope to return again someday but even the short time we were there we made lasting memories. Sunday River is a short ride, the town of Bethel is adorable and “straight out of a Gilmore Girls episode” according to my daughter. The property is really private but you are only 5-15 minutes to grocery stores, restaurants, and the ski slopes. Thank you for providing such an incredible space for my family.
House was as described in the listing. Nice and clean with enough things to keep kids busy. Rex was very helpful and quick in his response for our questions. You can find addr on Apple map but not in Google map. There is new house construction going on in next plot. But that hardly disturbed the quietness in the evening. House has perfect Mountain View from the deck. We enjoyed the sunrise and star gazing at night. Will definitely love to visit again.
We had a wonderful stay here. Plenty of room for two families. Kids loved the game room and they have a great sledding hill right outside (they even had sleds there to use.). House has everything you could possibly want. About a 20 min ride to the base lodge at Sunday River and very close to Bethel town center. The views alone are worth it!
Nothing to complain. Just a small suggestion. It will be good to have a sign on the entrance of the driveway of each house in the development to tell the house number. It took us quite a time to figure out which house is ours. Finally we find the house number is hidden near the house entrance door.
The property is beautiful, clean, well furnished, like new, the view is great as well.
The location was great for nearby hiking and swimming holes, the local restaurants and Steammill brewer in Bethel were great! Rex was a great host and easy to work with, I would defiantly like to stay at the property again during ski season.
The few days we spent at the property was exactly what was needed. With its amazing log cabin feel and scenic views, it was easy to get some much needed R&R!!! We would highly recommend!
Great house with a nice sunrise/sunset view of the mountains. 15 minute drive to Sunday River so very convenient if you are looking to ski. Very clean and cozy fireplace. Ping pong and foosball in the basement for fun activities after skiing.
Located just a few miles outside of downtown Bethel, the first thing you notice about this house is the view. We pulled up at 4 to check in -as the sun was setting- and could see the rolling hills far in the distance. Walking in there is a great mud room area, then into the great room. All wood finishes with an electric fireplace (that pumps out heat) huge windows and a deck overlooking the view. There is a half bath right off the kitchen. The only bedroom on the main floor is the master with en-suite. Upstairs there is a loft area, two bedrooms (one queen, and one with two bunk beds), and a full bathroom. In the basement there is a bedroom with a full/twin bunk bed, and a game room with a pullout couch. There is plenty of room.
In the welcome letter they said the renter is responsible for paper products- to include toilet paper. We arrived and had maybe one roll between the 3 1/2 bathrooms. We went shopping the first night, and at the shop n save in town they only had 4 packs, and a limit of one per customer. Bring your own toilet paper. When we arrived, the drive way and road was coated in ice- and was a challenge in a minivan. There was however a half bag of salt next to the front door that took care of the driveway issue.
Overall- great house, good location with great views, and plenty of room!
This property is amazing. My husband and I needed a place to get married, and finding somewhere during these COVID shenanigans that would work for us was difficult. When we decided to book this rental property, Rex was very pleasant, patient and willing to work with us. The views are amazing, and the house is spectacular. It was a pleasure being able to use this for our special day!

About the host
Hosted by Rex Bridges
Growing up in upstate New York, I spent most of my time playing in the Hudson River, or running up in the Catskills and Adirondacks as much as possible for any activity I could get involved in. After moving to Newport Rhode Island after college, I immediately fell in love with the ocean but still logging lots of miles exploring the mountains of New England. In 2013 our family decided to commit to our love of the Bethel area and purchase some land. 2 short years later we took the next step and built our dream mountain home. Living in Rhode Island, we value splitting our time at home near the ocean, with our new home in the mountains. Part of realizing our dream of owning a second home in the mountains is to manage the house to share with guests like you, and your families. In just a few years we have been overjoyed at the experiences that our guests have shared with us. Whether attending local wedding ceremonies, hosting holidays, or just having a getaway with family, we love hearing about all of the fun. The first thing our kids do upon arrival is run to the guest book to read the new additions to it. We hope we can provide the same experience for you:)
Why they chose this property
This property allows us to escape to a rural setting, away from traffic and hustle and bustle, but still be within minutes to the town of Bethel, and close to our favorite activities such as skiing Sunday River, or the endless areas to hike like Mt Will and Step Falls. The quick drive into town keeps us connected with our local friends, and always meeting new ones. On clear nights we can sit back on the deck and see the full sky of stars and the Milky Way with no light or noise pollution, save for the occasional satellite or transatlantic flight we follow silently across the sky. And of course each morning I'm awake bright and early with a cup of tea to watch the sunrise pour across the valley and into the living room. We value the tranquility of Sparrowhawk mountain, and being able to walk out our front door to hike the valley below.
What makes this property unique
Private rural neighborhood, wonderful views, with easy access to town and local attractions.
