Splendid Provencal Villa with Air-Conditoning, Heated Pool and Outside kitchen
Villa Indigo is located in the heart of the Alpilles hills of Southern France. It has 4 air-conditioned bedrooms, sleeping 12-13 people. The villa has been designed in the style of a traditional Provencal bastide, anhe style of a traditional Provencal bastide, and is part of a private estate with an other house, close to the old centre of Saint Remy de Provence.
The villa is set privately in its own garden within the estate, which is surrounded by old olive groves, hedges and scented trees and plants. It has four bedroom, one on the ground floor, three upstairs, each with private shower rooms, and lovely views of the hills from the upstairs rooms. The two double + single bed, and the two twin-rooms, have been individually decorated in a Provencal style and the whole house is air-conditioned.
The living room is comfortably furnished, and has a fireplace, a large satellite television screen, DVD and stereo. The kitchen is typically Provencal and well equipped, with a large fridge/freezer, stove, microwave, and dishwasher, and opens onto a covered terrace, where there is a barbecue, and table and chairs. There is also laundry room with a washing machine and a dryer.
There is a private heated swimming pool in a lovely, shady setting, which has a security alarm, sunbeds, and garden furniture scattered under the trees. Outside lights softly illuminate the whole property in the evenings, and there is a garage.
Saint Rémy has a golf course, as well as, tennis courts and riding stables. You can also go fishing or gliding, and there are endless places to walk or cycle through the hills and discover for yourself, unspoiled, tucked away areas.
Glanum, just outside Saint Rémy is one of the most important Roman archeological sites in Provence. Founded 300 BC, it reveals a civilization that influences life here even today.
You can see thermal baths, an avenue of houses, the temple and the natural spring, and the remains of a Gallo-Roman town dating 30-10 BC. On the road leaving Glanum are the ancient Arc de Triomphe and Les Antiquities, the gateway to Glanum, standing as they have since that time. Close by is St Paul de Mausole, where Van Gogh spent his last days.
From there it is only a short drive through the hills to Les Beaux, an ancient village perched high on the rocks, once one of the most celebrated and brilliant of the troubadour courts of love in the Middle Ages, now romantically ghostly.
The villa is also at the centre of the Baux de Provence and Côteaux d'Aix vineyards and not far from Château Neuf du Pape.
It is important to note that Airports Marseille Internationa is only eighty kilometres, Avignon is twenty kilometres, car rental is available. Road Paris/Saint Rémyisis six hours, Rail Avignon (TGV Paris/Avigno) is two hours and forty-five minutes and twenty kilometres, rental car is available.
For a French vacation you will not soon forget, our villa is a place you have dreamed about, and you will not be disappointed!

On our first day at Villa Indigo, the wisteria was in full bloom, the rosebuds were just opening, birds were chirping...absolutely idyllic. The house was very comfortable, everything functioned well. It was a great pleasure to return every day after sightseeing. We swam in the pool and played petanque (until we were chased in by mosquitos--bring your bug spray--there were a rew sites where we needed it) The kitchen was replete with utensils and dishes. We speak a little French, so got along well with Michelle, the property manager. All in all, a fabulous vacation.
The property was beautiful, well-kept, and exactly as described. It was in a quiet location but still walking distance from town. We had no complaints at all with our stay and would not hesitate to stay there again.

Thank you very much for your kind feedback Alexandra! We're delighted to hear that you enjoyed the property and its location, and that everything met your expectations. We look forward to welcoming you again on your next visit!
We absolutely loved our stay at Villa Indigo. The location is close to town yet was a great jumping point to many different day trips. Our kids loved playing in the pool each day and we really enjoyed cooking and eating outside every night. We would absolutely love to stay at Villa Indigo again!

Thanks julie I’ll be happy to welcome you again at villa indigo :)
We were exceptionally happy with the Villa Indigo from when we received the lovely welcome basket to when we left. Our grown children loved the pool, house, and walking into town. It was a very memorable vacation in St. Remy and we enjoyed the location to many cities in Provence. Merci Celine and Michelle:)
We absolutely loved Villa Indigo, the space, the beautiful garden, the pool and table tennis. The villa is so well equipped with everything we needed. We also really enjoyed the location close enough to walk into St Rémy which we did a lot. Celine and Michele couldn't have been more helpful. A very special holiday!
The house and gardens are wonderful. Although the house is a newer build, it has the feel of a villa in the country. It’s perfectly located close to the center and while you can walk along the street, the narrowness of the road is sometimes tricky. There is a lovely small canal in and around the city that you can walk along into city center.
The kitchen was very well equipped. The big bedrooms and ensuite bathrooms were an extra bonus.
Lovely house, beautiful garden and superb pool, perfect for family, young and old. We ate outside the entire time and the outdoor kitchen facilities were so good. The boil piste was well used and the lawns were great for the children to run around. Two large fridges just about held everything and the bedrooms spacious enough to absorb us all. No complaints at all although I feel it would be most helpful if there was a book or an instruction sheet detailing all we needed to know about the house. Communication with Celine was good but Michele, the lady who welcomed us was perfectly pleasant but her English was about as good as our French, so communication was limited. Also, the safe needs to be repaired. A lovely 13 days!

Thank you Bob for your thoughtful review! I'm glad to hear you enjoyed the house, garden, and pool, and that the outdoor kitchen and facilities met your needs perfectly. I appreciate your suggestions regarding an instruction sheet and the safe repair, and will certainly take these into account to improve future stays. It's great that communication with me was good, and I’ll look into ways to enhance the welcome experience as well. I'm happy you had a lovely 13 days and hope to host you again!

Another week in paradise at Indigo!
This was our second week in two years at Indigo. Obviously, we like it! We are only two couples, but you could comfortably have 8 adults since there are 4 bedrooms, each with its own bath. The outdoor kitchen and lounge are where we spent most of our time if not touring around or swimming in the pool. St Remy is adorable and beautiful. Go!
Good location 15-20 mins from village, great property, kids enjoyed the pool, well equipped, took some finding the first day but easy after that. St Remy is a brilliant town if you like wandering nice streets, local shopping, galleries and eating. Good base for exploring Provence, Avignon, Arles, Aix, Le Baux, etc all relatively easy to reach.
We were two families but would suit families with multi generations and kids of any age. The very large garden is a perfect sports pitch.
We have stayed in Saint-Rémy many times, and this was one of my favourite properties!
The location is quiet but very convenient, and the facilities (pool, garden, outside kitchen, boulodrome) are all excellent. As grandparents travelling with a young family, we love having a ground floor room with en-suite, and the children loved having their own bathrooms upstairs.
Both Celine and Michelle were very helpful, especially with the arrangements for the smallest member of the party (7 months). We found the property to be very well and thoughtfully equipped, and the full house air conditioning was fantastic in the hottest week of the year.
Hope to see you again soon!

We are always so happy to return to Villa Indigo!
This beautiful home has everything you could want: air conditioning, an indoor and an outdoor kitchen, heated pool, 4 bedrooms (each with bath). It is only a 15 minute walk from the center of St.-Remy de Provence, a lovely town with charming restaurants and small shops. It is also a short car ride from Les Baux, where we enjoy the Carrieres de Lumiere light show every year and then treat ourselves to lunch at L'Oustau de Baumaniere.
The owners have chosen a lovely woman to be the point person for the entire stay, and she is responsive to any request or issue.
What's not to like?

Fabulous week at Villa Indigo
We had a fabulous week at Villa Indigo! The location is terrific and made a great home base. The short 10 minute walk into the center of St. Remy was a pleasure, and the town itself is fun and full of character (don't miss market day on Wednesday morning), with an incredible number of good restaurants for its size. Given the number of must-see sights within an easy 30 minute drive (Avignon, Arles, Les Baux, etc.), we only just scratched the surface during our one week stay. The house is beautiful, spacious, well-maintained, very private, and laid out very nicely -- in short, it was everything we would have hoped for based on the listing. We loved having the outdoor kitchen and dining area, and the kids had a great time in the heated pool even though it was still only the first week of April. Celine was extremely responsive and very helpful in getting everything organized. It was very easy to feel at home there, and we would love to go back.

Not perfect but at the same time very pretty
The kitchen was quite old. Door handles would fall off.
There was a mishmash of dishes beneath the sink. It was disorganized. I do not like to see left over spices and vinegars from other guests. The dryer and washing machine did not work.
Michele did not speak any English
The upstairs was lovely as was the outside play area for my grandson.

the kitchen is Provencal style that usually pleases my guests. the handles hold I don’t understand well... The dishes under the sink were stored there by my clients.
They usually appreciate that there are spices, vinegars and oils in the cupboards...
The washing machine and dryer were immediately repaired (they had been overcharged by some clients.)
Michèle does not speak English but is very helpful and usually very appreciated by my clients.
The main thing is that you had a pleasant stay :)
I have wracked my brain but I can’t think of any negatives for this house. It is spotlessly clean, very tastefully furnished and has little touches like tissues in each bedroom and an apron in the kitchen, that are very thoughtful. The outside kitchen is very functional with lovely outdoor crockery. And the garden is superb and so meticulously tended
Unlike others we found Michelle, who greets you or, in our case comes and finds you lost in
the back streets of St. Remy, delightful. Yes, she will only speak to you in French but she tolerated my abuse of the language with good humour. Her son, who tends the pool and speaks perfect
English, is also delightful.
St. Remy itself is becoming too popular for its own good and parking is a nightmare but it is full of good restaurants and still a good central point for exploring the area.
If we have the chance we wouldn’t hesitate returning to this house.

A good villa in a charming town
Good things:
1. Great location, within walking distance of the town
2. Well proportioned living area and bedrooms, generally speaking well equipped
3. Large garden and heated swimming pool
4. Well equipped inside and outside kitchen
Not so good:
1. Communication with the owner is very difficult, we don't speak French, the person meeting us speaks NO English at all which makes communication impossible.
2. We could not get the dishwasher to work, poor instruction on how it needs a big push to make it work.
3. The toilet flush in one of the bedrooms did not work properly, and one of the shower heads fell and broke, instead of the owner fixing it, the owner's first reaction was 'you need to fix it or replace it, otherwise you need to pay for it!', what an attitude! My family are very well behaved people, we also all have beautiful homes, we don't go around breaking toilet flushes and showers, the owner's attitude towards services is appalling.
4. The agent kept sending me emails all in French when i told her that i do not read or speak French. The company needs to be more considerate to international guests, communication should be in both English and French.
In summary, a great villa but very poor services. And if anything does not work, you can be accused of breaking it and therefore charged for it. Not acceptable.

When you arrived, you were 2.5 hours late and outside arrival times, and you sent my housekeeper away when she wanted to explain how the house works, especially the dishwasher...
I speak perfect English and my housekeepers French (they welcome my guests very pleasantly), we are in France and translators such as deepl exist.
In the middle of our stay, my housekeeper noticed that a toilet and a shower head were broken...they don't break themselves in 3 days...
You didn't inform us of these breakages, you refused to pay for their repair, so nothing was billed to you, and the icing on the cake was that you left the house very dirty when you left!
