Large 2-level south deck overlooking 300 yards of the river with spectacular view of 100-ft Ponderosa pines, mixed with spruce and fir.

Located in the Historic Upper Canyon, this 2-bedroom, 2-bath cabin sleeps 6-8: 1 king, 2 queen, and 1 queen sofabed.

Features include: Wood-burning fireplace, central heat, washer and dryer, local telephone, 3 TVs (satellite), DVD, microwave, coffeemaker, hand mixer, toaster, CrockPot, BBQ propane gas grill, and 3 car parking.

Cute cabin, amazing location!

Our little family loved this cute cabin! It has been renovated since the pictures listed so that was a nice treat. We loved seeing all of the wildlife (deer, turkeys, and horses!). The river view was just gorgeous! We had a user error with the shower but the owner was QUICK to respond. We will be back! This is such a gem!

Ruidoso Trip

This is the second time that we stay here. I was a bit disappointed by the way the rental was, not very clean but I cleaned up with what cleaning supplies were there. I would go back if I knew that the place will be clean. We did have fun watching the deer come by and the fireplace on it was relaxing.

Peaceful Vacation

My mom and I stayed 3 nights and we adore this place. The river view is the best in town and it was very peaceful and quiet. Lots of deer in the front and back yards. The house had all of the amenities you could need and was very clean. The steps into the bedrooms was a little tricky for my 81 year old mom because she kept forgetting they were there but other than that it was great. The deck out back overlooking the river is fabulous and there is lots of room if you had larger families. I highly recommend this property.

Phenomenal location on the River

This is our second visit and the owners excel in making your visit superb. I had the opportunity to talk first hand with Barb prior to last years visit. The location to town makes this rental a prime choice but the best are the animals - /wildlife you can view as you sit on the newer deck. The house rests on at least a half to full acre giving you the experience of the woods without houses crammed together. The price is a great plus too. Definitely consider this home you won’t regret it!!!

The home was conveniently located to town but had all the seclusion we were looking for.

Stepping out to the back deck sold the entire experience. The tranquilizing sound of the river, breeze blowing through the trees and the fragrance of the mountain outdoors says it all. We had bird varieties too numerous to count. A doe came by the first evening and was a regular guest. She brought her fawns and could not get enough of them. We had all our meals at home and everything we needed was provided for cooking and cleanup. We loved every minute.

Peaceful and Cozy

My friend and I were celebrating our back to back birthdays in Ruidoso. The pictures of the river from the back deck was the reason I rented this home. The house was cozy and clean and had everything we needed for our stay. We sat on the deck drinking coffee and listening to the peaceful sounds of the river. By the second morning the deer started coming into the yards. We quickly cut an apple and were able to feed them by hand. The does and fawns were very gentle and we knew to be careful and watchful. Our stay was pleasant and relaxing.

Beautiful!

What an amazing view of the river! My husband, 3 teens & I recently enjoyed a much needed break from the incredibly hot temperatures of West Texas. We chose this Ruidoso cabin on the river. My family had a hard time prying me away from the back deck. We cooked most of our meals at the cabin. The cabin is very well supplied & comfortable. It is located among lots of other cabins, but once you step out the back door, you feel secluded. I made some sugar water for the hummingbird feeder & enjoyed seeing many variations of hummingbirds. We hand fed the visiting deer Apple slices & deer corn. Our plans to zip line at ski apache were foiled due to thunderstorms, but thank goodness for such a beautiful little spot to enjoy time together & relax. We definitely hope to visit again.

So much nicer than the pics!

Gorgeous area close to everything. Home has been updated since pics were taken, no carpet, and plenty of room for the family. Big comfy beds and so much wildlife! We had deer and elk all over the front and back yard. So peaceful. Would definitely stay there again.

Peaceful and scenic

The view of the river was beautiful and the deer’s that came around the property each day were an extra treat. The house was fairly clean but had a musty odor. The microwave was trashed handle missing, broken off and plastic front was busted broken. Could not figure out how to use tv each channel I found wanted to charge to watch. To turn shower on/off very difficult, had to call host to tell me how to manage it but I believe they should be repaired. Aside from the items mentioned, we did enjoy the peace and quiet and the beautiful location.

Nice place to stay. We did find that the recliners were nice but too low & not very comfortable, & we are not tall people. Also the camodes are very low. But we were happy overall with our stay. Peaceful stay

The property is in an ideal location. Well stocked, the house has a large bedroom with a king bed and another with 2 queens so it would be great for a family or friends. The kitchen is large and well equipped so you can enjoy your time watching the wildlife. It was fun to watch the elk, deer, and even wild horses grazing in the yard. It is a shame what the Ruidoso flood has done to the city and some damage in this neighborhood, but it did not affect our stay. We would rent again and hope to next year.

Excellent Location/Fantastic Home

I absolutely adored the retro style home and decor. This house took me back to my youth and the times I used to visit in the 80’s! Great location, very clean, well stocked and loved the back patio on the Rio. Thank you for the stay my boys and I loved it.
