The unit has excellent kitchen appliances. The bed is very comfortable. The wifi is reasonable. The cost of the rental was amazing. The laundry facility is convenient and in excellent condition. Unfortunately, tenants in another unit of this building caused me to cut my stay short. In order to ensure my security and safety, I left after an incident that required me to contact local police. There's also an issue regarding insects. I had to discard a few dozen red and black flying beetles over the course of my 3.5 week stay. There is also no control over the thermostat. The unit was often extremely warm or very cool. They do provide a portable electric heat radiator as supplemental heat. The general area is a neighborhood that I would describe as economically challenged and in need of a great deal of renovation and revitalization.

The issues cited have been addressed. The young tenants in unit 2 were evicted and a couple with outstanding tenant record will be the new tenants. We have signed a pest service agreement for the entire building. This service will be monthly and will resolve these minor issues. The temperature control will be set at a comfortable temperature and guests have manual vent controls to adjust as needed. We honestly believe these measures will adequately address all issues that we have control over. Guests will also be advised to contact us directly 24/7 as needed.

Overall, had a good month here. This location is close to the Covenant Hospital and is within 15 minutes of other clinics I had to go to for my Podiatry rotations. It is a basement unit, so if you're someone that can't sleep with upstairs neighbors, I wouldn't recommend it. I had no issues, the noise wasn't anything louder than normal. The first night we arrived, it was very warm. We closed the vents, but it would still get very hot. You have no control over the thermostat, but the landlord was very responsive. I let him know and we didn't have any issues after that. The bugs were not anything crazy, the entryway to the whole house had more than the unit actually had. I'd see a couple of boxelder bugs every now and then and they have an exterminator that comes once a month so that should continue to improve.Pros: Laundry room is right next to the unit and is not shared with the upstairs units. The kitchen has anything you possibly need. Con: It's a rule that tenants can't smoke in the units, but it seemed like that wasn't the case. When the air would turn on you could really smell it. We tried to keep the vents closed the whole time, but the main area one would open randomly with steps. I bought a funk away and used room spray and that helped a lot.
