Driftwood River Lodge is a vacation rental in a beautiful river lodge setting on the Meramec River just 1.7 miles from downtown Steelville, Missouri. We are just minutes away from shopping and your choice of local restaurants. Our lodge is in the heart of a popular tourist town full of attractions that include, but not limited to, canoe rentals, state parks, hiking trails, and the Meramec River.

Driftwood River Lodge is nestled in the trees overlooking the beautiful Meramec River bottoms. This nature-inspired setting offers a real country cabin in the woods. Visitors can be surrounded by nature and smell the fresh outdoor air. This charming country lodge will take you to a place of total relaxation away from the hustle and bustle of the city. After spending a beautiful day on the river, visitors can come back to the lodge to enjoy a family BBQ on one of the many decks overlooking the river bottoms or they can choose to dine at one of Steelville’s local small town, family friendly restaurants. After dinner, visitors can relax on a comfortable sofa to enjoy a movie in front of a crackling fireplace with a bowl of popcorn made in our fully loaded kitchens.

Guest House Descriptions:

Driftwood Lodge (large guest house that accommodates up to 13 guests).
Driftwood Lodge is settled among the trees snuggled around the Meramec River bottoms. This unit has a full working kitchen which contains a large refrigerator, microwave, dishwasher, coffee maker, full size cook stove, all cooking utensils, pots, pans, sink, and a large dining table in the dining area. The Driftwood Lodge has four bedrooms. The master suite includes one king size bed and its own 3/4 master bathroom. The second and third guest bedrooms feature one queen size bed in each room with a deck overlooking the river bottoms. The fourth guest bedroom includes a double/ twin bunk combination. This unit has an additional two full bathrooms located in two different halls. Included in this guest house is a den with a sleeper sofa and a television. This guest house also has another living room that includes a fireplace, a sleeper sofa, and a television with a deck overlooking the river bottoms. Ask about handicap accessibility.

This huge property felt like a giant treehouse and the hosts were so kind and communicative. The property has the best river spot and we would love to stay here again if we are in the area.

May seem trivial to some, but we Really liked that there were fans in the bedrooms. Huge dining area, and patio / deck spaces. AC kept it very cold. Everything was clean and in good working order. Bed in master was comfy!

Perfect place to stay for a large group. Plenty of space, kitchen adequately stocked, very easy booking and check-in/out process. The only drawback is the air conditioning situation. There are several mini splits throughout but only 2 of them work properly. We also rented the Red Cabin along with Driftwood and found the same situation. Still worth 5 stars based on everything else.

Girls Weekend Getaway

Second time staying here, and we will definitely be coming back again! LOVED spending 2 days just sitting in the water watching all the floaters going by. House dishes and appliances were a little dusty so we cleaned before use. Jan was very helpful and easy to work with. She even brought us ice because there wasn't an icemaker. Would definitely recommend this property!

A great place for a family gathering

We stayed here for a couple nights and a planned float trip. The weather did not cooperate so we just hung out and enjoyed the great space we had. There was a lot of room and a well stocked kitchen. We barbecued did puzzles and played games. The kids walked to the boat ramp and fished for awhile when there was a break in the weather. The house had everything as listed on vrbo. I would recommend this property and hopefully we can return to do our float trip.

Perfect holiday getaway

Great property. As described. Owner was easy to communicate with and very accommodating. Lots of room for our family consisting of 2 grandparents, 2 parents and 2 teens. Kitchen was huge and well equipped with new appliances. Bedrooms and living areas were comfortable, clean and spacious. The property is gorgeous and very secluded, but very easy to find, and close to town should you need anything. We would love to come back during the summer to take advantage of the river and gravel bar for swimming.

Wonderful getaway escape!

We booked this weekend knowing that the traditional hotels and places to stay would be booked for the graduation weekend. The 30 min drive to Rolla was really worth it! Our entire family got to spread out in very clean and comfortable rooms and come together in the huge dining room and numerous living rooms. We played cards, had some beautiful hikes and still had plenty of time to get to the afternoon graduation. Thank you for helping make this an even more memorable weekend for our family. We Love your home!

Perfect retreat for bridesmaids!

We chose this beautiful lodge for the bridesmaids and prep spot for the bride! It worked out so perfectly as absolutely huge with three bathrooms and massive kitchen and living areas for visiting. The care taker, Herkley deserves 15 stars! He was incredibly helpful and responsive before and during the stay.we super appreciated how easy it was for us! The back decks are just gorgeous. The girls had coffee on them each morning and the relaxing atmosphere was absolutely perfect for the bride getting ready for her big day!!! Our spouses got so jealous of how awesome it was I have no doubt we will all be back again. Beautiful space, hidden among the woods and a great caretaker to help with anything you need! Thank you so much for making our weekend perfect. See you soon!

Amazing and historic cabin in the woods

I cannot say enough about how amazing this stay was!!! Everything was great from start to finish. Jan met us at the house to let us in and show us around. She was kind and so knowledgeable. They knew we were all gathering to celebrate a late friend holiday in January and they put up a Christmas tree and Christmas Decor to make our weekend more festive! They filled the bird feeders and provided us with the opportunity to bird watch right from the deck, and even provided a telescope and bird books to help us out. The cabin was spacious and well kept! Clean and cozy. The beds were Comfortable with good sheets. They provided all the basic needs we required for our stay. The grounds were beautiful and right on the river! They even provided walking sticks for our journey (which came in handy). The town of Steelville was like a tiny gem and we enjoyed going to the restaurant there and felt very welcomed. We had an issue with a frozen pipe due to the icy cold conditions in January, but Jan responded within 10 minutes and had a repairman out, in the middle of the night!! I was so overly impressed!!! I can’t recommned this place more! Such a great property, town, and owners. We definitely plan to visit again during the warmer months.

Girls Who Refuse to Growup

Driftwood Lodge was so spacious for our Over 50 group of 8 Ladies! Jan was so easy to communicate with before, during & after the whole stay. We're already talking about coming back for a summer visit as it's so close to the river and it's such a comfortable place in regards to "living" space so you're not on top of one another. Great Weekend Getaway!!!
