There were a number of issues with the rental:
- They didn't send check in instructions. We had to call them to get them to send it over. The lockbox also had many issues and took 10+ tries to open.
- The listing says 3 parking spots but note that these are SHARED with another rental. So you may have anywhere from 0-3 spots.
- The heating on the second floor is broken, so it gets quite cold in the winter.
- The management company was incredibly unhelpful. We called multiple times and they acknowledged the parking issue and mentioned they would get back to us shortly, but never did.
Home is conveniently located close to squaw creek resort as well as palisades village. So quick drive to both. Home has a great layout with 2 very large masters upstairs, en-suite on first floor and another large room with two queens. It was perfect for a large family gathering. Hot tub and grill were nice as well. We also enjoyed figuring out the names of all the animals throughout the house!
This was a great home for our multi generational family getaway. Lots of space to move around, big kitchen, generous sized bedrooms. Many of us walked from the house to the Village at Squaw on the footpath. Hot tub was a great feature as well.

Not for animal lovers
I can’t say that the ad was misleading as all pictures showed the animal heads on the walls but it was hard to see in person and with children. Over 20 dead animals on the walls, a wolfe pelt with head and tail, 3 bear skin rugs with heads, teeth and claws, and a zebra rug. That being said, the location and the floor plan are great. The kitchen would be great but it was cluttered and dirty. The furniture and bedding all a bit tired. The location made it worthwhile.

Some concerns about our rental
I don’t typically write reviews but felt it was important to share our experience. The house itself was in a great location and was very spacious and had great spaces for gathering. Kitchen was fully stocked with appliances and kitchen items and tons of spices (no other food staples were supplied). We used the fire place the entire time and there was a ton of wood available. However, the heat was set to 50 degrees when we arrived and it took a good 20 hours for the house to heat up. And then the heat is automatically set to go back down to 50 degrees everyday thru-out the day. It was freezing in the house. There was a leak coming from the master bedroom window which dampened the carpet that wasn’t able to be fixed. There were games provided (but pieces were missing). One of the fire detectors went off and it took a few hours for them to fix it. The televisions were not working when we got there. The instructional books on how to use the different items in the house were outdated and not helpful. There wasn’t even a shovel in the house to use when our cars were snowed in. There was a handyman Andrew who was very helpful and kind who came over to deal with the different issues. When I would call the management company thru-out our stay, we would be on hold for a very long time. FYI - there is no
garage - just street parking. I asked for a bit of a discount for the inconveniences and issues and I still have not heard back from them. We were at this house from 12/28 - 1/2/23 and it is now 1/13/23. I felt it was important that people knew about the heat situation especially during the cold winter months when the price per night is quite high.
I have stayed in properties before but this was the worst to date. There is no parking spaces...do not believe the listing You park out on the street...and if you have any issues which we did - TV's, fireplace, loud noise in master bedroom that started 4am until 7am every day - management company will NOT solve it. You will talk to 4 people who will ultimately say their 3rd party contractor could not come by. The contractor would come by without calling and would just leave a note outside. Again never actually solving the issue. Mismanaged properties...next time I would rather stay at a hotel!!
This property was great for our large group and the location was perfect for skiing.

Decent but Amenities Misrepresented
We had several issues with the property manager, a company called RENT Lever, which boiled down to the fact that they were intentionally misleading in the listing. For example:
It's listed as a 4 bedroom, but its so unbearably hot upstairs during the summer that it's practically un-inhabitable. This was conveniently not addressed in the listing. Also, I doubt this was triggered by a heat wave as the forecast for the week prior and 10 days after our stay were for the same temps.
Also the listing states very prominently that there is a hot tub, which was also listed in the rental agreement I signed. But it wasn't working. By the time I arrived they had added an asterix in the listing's fine print that it wasn't working...but they still left the very prominent text that it worked in place. To me that is intentionally misleading.
Despite my complaints RentLever was unwilling to make accommodations or even change the misleading description of the listing. Its a shame for the owner that they have such an irresponsible manager...or maybe they want it this way.
Renter beware.
