Hughes is a tiny home for two — just enough space, and exactly the right amount. Queen bed under the eaves, private hot tub on the deck, fire pit stocked and ready for the night ahead.
Hughes is part of a small collection of tiny homes — four in all, tucked close together, each with its own private outdoor space and all part of the same little community at Notestone Reserve. Privacy fencing and planted trees do the work of keeping things quiet and separate. Most guests stay entirely in their own lane — hot tub, fire pit, patio — and that's exactly how it's designed. The game room is there when you want it, and easy to ignore when you don't.
Named for Langston Hughes — whose work found beauty and weight in everyday life — it's one of four tiny homes here, each designed for couples or solo travelers who want to unplug without giving up the good stuff.
🌲 Outside • Personal hot tub (striped towels provided) • Propane grill with tools • Fire pit for s’mores, stargazing, and evening conversations (firewood on site) • Cozy seating for two, with blankets for the cooler nights • Privacy fencing and planted trees between homes
🏠 Inside • Lofted queen bed with crisp linens • Kitchenette stocked with the basics to get you started — salt, pepper, olive oil, garlic powder, onion powder, foil, and cooking spray. • Coffee bar: coffee maker, coffee, and tea • Towels for every occasion (bath, hand, face, makeup, hot tub) • Smart TV and Bluetooth speaker
🧴 What's Here When You Arrive Every bathroom comes stocked with the good stuff — shampoo, conditioner, body wash, hand soap, and lotion. One less thing to remember when you're packing for the weekend.
We provide a starter kit of the essentials — 2 rolls of toilet paper, a roll of paper towels, a kitchen sponge, and trash liners. We recommend bringing a little extra just in case.
🏡 The Shared Game Room A short walk across the property, and open to every Notestone guest: • 85" Smart TV • Pool table • Foosball • Basketball arcade • Classic arcade machines and a racing game • Legos, card and board games, indoor cornhole • Plus an outdoor playground for the kids (big and small)
🗺️ What's Nearby Notestone sits in the heart of the Hocking Hills, close enough to hit two or three trails in a day and still be back in time for the fire pit.
Rock House — 7 minutes Conkle's Hollow — 15 minutes Old Man's Cave — 20 minutes Ash Cave — 26 minutes
Cedar Falls, Cantwell Cliffs, and the rest of the state park system are all within a short drive as well.
📶 About the WiFi WiFi is included, but satellite internet in Hocking Hills has its limits. Most guests find the inconsistency easier to accept once they're in the hot tub. We aren't able to issue refunds for WiFi interruptions.
🌿 A Note on the Setting We're in a wooded area, and while we stay on top of regular pest control, the occasional ladybug or curious spider showing up is just nature doing its thing.
📋 A Few House Rules We're a small, family-owned operation, and keeping Notestone calm and well-kept is a group effort. A few things we ask: • No parties or events, including bachelor/bachelorette groups. And no glitter — it never, ever goes away. • Only registered guests on the property • No smoking, vaping, fireworks, ATVs, hunting, or weapons • No commercial photography or videography without written approval • Hot tub: use the striped towels provided and keep the cover on between soaks • Septic-safe: flush toilet paper only; no garbage disposal at the sink • 4WD/AWD recommended during winter months Check-in: 4:00 PM / Check-out: 11:00 AM
✏️ Before You Arrive All guests sign a simple renter agreement once you book. We'll send it over — quick, painless, and it helps us take good care of you and everyone else on the property.

This place was great! Our first tiny home, and we loved it! The Host was great and stayed in communication with us during our stay to ensure everything was perfect. The place was neat and clean, with everything we needed for a nice weekend getaway.
We loved the place! Fully stocked with everything we needed. The fuse on the outdoor lights was blown and it was replaced promptly. The hot tub was great and we had fun using the game room
This property does not disappoint. They really have thought of everything you will need for a nice quiet retreat away from your busy schedules. Beautiful property and accommodations.

Big fun in our tiny home!
We enjoyed two nights in Hughes. The place is like new with a well stocked kitchen, lovely decor and great hot tub. The fire pit was also great. The setting was lovely, too. We hope to return!
The whole process was seamless, start to finish. Communication was great, location was fantastic, & the novelty of it all made for a great long weekend off the grid!
Cozy, comfortable and host supplied essentials (and generously more) that you do not want to have to pack, for a quick getaway. The site is even better at night with a personal outdoor space with a fire pit and chairs/table, awesome hot tub and a gas grill. Can’t wait to go back! Stacey provided excellent details so I was well prepared, also very easy be in contact with, if needed… and so accommodating!

Outstanding 😁!
Our experience at this property was wonderful and certainly worth the effort to get there. All the comforts and conveniences of a fine five star hotel wrapped up in a small package. Add in the beautiful surroundings of the peaceful hocking hills, you have an amazing memory in the making. We will be back! 😁
We had a wonderful time. The place was great. The only problem we had is being 74 years old getting up the stairs and crawling into the bed was a little bit tough but each night was easier than the next. The place was very clean and had everything we needed and we enjoyed the hot tub very much.

So glad you had a wonderful time — and that the loft won you over by the end. We're always upfront that those stairs are part of the deal, so we appreciate you giving them a fair chance. The hot tub more than earns its keep. Hope to see you back at Notestone.
Very cozy and good location for hiking. Space is very tight for the same price it might be better to get an actual cabin, but it was as nice as advertised!
Hi, I'm Stacey — one of the founders of Notestone Reserve, and the person who's been hands-on in shaping every space on the property.
Restoration is something I think about a lot. The idea that something with potential can become something worth keeping — that broken pieces, arranged with care, can turn into something magnificent. Stained glass works that way. So does Notestone.
This property started as a vision and a lot of hard work. What it is now — ten units across 14 acres in the heart of Hocking Hills, each one named for a writer who paid attention to the world around them — is the result of believing that where you rest matters.
Every detail reflects what I personally look for when I travel: comfort without pretense, nature without roughing it. The kind of place where memories get made without trying — and you leave with a story worth telling.
I'm proud of what we've built. And I'd love to have you here.
Welcome to Notestone Reserve.
What makes this property unique
Hughes is a tiny home for two with a personal hot tub, fire pit, and a patio built for the long evening. Small on square footage, generous where it counts — and designed to make the most of both.
As a Notestone Reserve guest you'll also have access to our shared community game room — pool table, basketball arcade, classic arcade machines, and a TV lounge. Most nights it's all yours. It's the kind of bonus that turns a rainy afternoon into the highlight of the trip.
Notestone Reserve sits in Laurelville, right in the heart of Hocking Hills. The trails, waterfalls, and rock formations are a short drive away — but so is your fire pit, and most guests find that's where the evening ends up anyway.
