Washington Grace Cottage
Grace Cottage is a wonderful 1920s home situated in the beautiful town of Washington, Arkansas. The home comfortably fits four and is located next to Historic Washington State Park. Enjoy a relaxing and restful weekend in the community of Washington.
The space
The Cottage sleeps a maximum of five people in two bedrooms. The front bedroom has one full size bed and one single bed and the back bedroom has one full size bed. Both bedrooms share a single full bathroom. The bathroom is equipped with a single sink, toilet, shelves, mirror, and tub/shower. Cottage includes TV and DVD player. No cable is available. All rooms have central air/heat.
Guest access
The entire house is available to guests, except for the back porch utility room and barn.The majority of the house features wood floors and a fully equipped kitchen with full-size refrigerator/freezer, oven with gas cooktop, microwave, coffee pot, and dishes.The house also has both a front and back porch with furniture for enjoying the outdoors. Board games and videos are available in the living room closet.
The neighborhood
The Cottage is located next to Historic Washington State Park. The park interprets the nineteenth century history of this town that became famous for the Bowie Knife and became the Confederate Capital of Arkansas for the last two years of the Civil War. Various activities happen on a daily basis in the park and more information can be found online. Williams Tavern Restaurant is open from 11am-3pm for lunch on a daily basis for a great southern meal. From May to September on Saturday morning, enjoy visiting the Old Washington Farmers' Market across the street from Williams Tavern Restaurant and taste of the local produce.
Getting around
Everything in the town of Washington is within walking distance. The visitor center for Historic Washington State Park is only four blocks from the front door. For lunch, Williams Tavern Restaurant is only two blocks just down the street. Grace Cottage is located 8 miles from Hope and 33 miles from the Crater of Diamonds State Park in Murfreesboro.
At Grace Cottage, we ask our guests to respect and treat the property as if it were their own. No smoking or pets are allowed on the premises.
Check-in is anytime after 3pm on the day of arrival and check-out is no later than 11am on the day of departure.
Linens are normally not changed every day in order to conserve water and energy, but if you need fresh towels just ask.
The house is on a septic system so please be mindful of what is flushed or put down the drain.
Please be respectful of the house and neighbors as a guest at our house. We'd like to keep welcoming people here for a long time!
