THE PROPERTY

The Gathering House at Riverside seamlessly blends 1940s architectural character with thoroughly modern amenities following our comprehensive 2025 renovation. Original hardwood floors, classic fireplaces, and charming built-ins coexist beautifully with contemporary comforts throughout this spacious home.

Each of our five bedrooms (with flexibility for a sixth) has been thoughtfully designed with today's travelers in mind. You'll find plush memory foam mattresses promising restful sleep, large-screen smart TVs for entertainment, and dedicated workspaces with convenient outlets. As seen in the photos, the bedrooms feature a variety of styles—from traditional to the bright room with trendy tropical mint accents and decorative iron bed. The keypad locks on bedroom doors add an extra layer of security and convenience, especially appreciated by groups where members may keep different schedules.

The home's common areas invite connection and conversation. Our bright yellow front porch with comfortable rattan seating creates the perfect setting for morning coffee or evening unwinding, or grill up a feast on the patio.

Inside, the generously sized living room features a comfortable leather sectional and unique hanging chair—ideal for relaxation after a day of exploring. The sunroom-style dining area bathes in natural light through large windows overlooking lush greenery, creating a perfect gathering spot for meals or board games.

The vibrant Riverside Arts Market is a pleasant 1.2-mile walk, while downtown Jacksonville is just 2.5 miles away, and the beach is just under 20 miles.

Our renovations have prioritized comfort and convenience throughout, though we do want to mention that, typical of homes from this era, the walls are less soundproof than modern construction. We do provide earplugs, just in case you're traveling with night owls.

Guests have access to laundry facilities on-site, including a washer and dryer for your convenience during longer stays.

I am available for assistance, throughout your stay should you need assistance, though we've designed the check-in and check-out processes to be completely self-service for your convenience.

As with many historic homes built in 1940, sound travels more easily between rooms than in modern construction. Earplugs are provided, for your comfort.

Second living area can function as a sixth bedroom when using kitchen door as primary entrance/exit

The property features stairs and may not be suitable for guests with mobility challenges.

We maintain a strict no-smoking policy throughout the property.

Well-behaved pets may be allowed with prior approval and pet fee.

The neighborhood is residential—we ask guests to respect our neighbors by keeping noise levels reasonable after 10 PM.

Check-in is 3 PM and check-out is 9 AM.
