Loved this place! The hammock was a huge selling point for me and the weather was perfect to use it. Very quaint with a lot of charm. Even has a catio, which I need to remember for next time for I can bring my cat! Chester is very responsive and easy to work with. Hopefully my travels take me here again in the future!

Exactly what we needed and wanted! Communication was friendly and efficient, allowing an easy check-in and check-out process. The space was comfortable and clean, well-stocked and decorated beautifully with art from the host’s own family. Mornings on the deck were peaceful and nothing can beat running down to the yard to snack on ripe, sun-warmed cherry tomatoes. We know this neighborhood of Guerneville well…Best for families and those want peaceful days on the river, barely five minutes away on foot, in the sun with redwood views surrounding the block. This sweet little home will see us again!

A great father and son trip to a special place. The communication with the host was excellent. The interior space is very comfortable. We used the futon and it was easy to use and a lot more comfortable than I expected. Lots of vintage charm with the curved ceiling and the metal cupboards. We used the stove and oven and both worked well. We also used the outdoor gas grill and it was clean and easy to use. The air conditioning in both the main space (living and eat in kitchen) was powerful and quiet with lots of functions to get to the perfect temperature, same with the bedroom. Both air conditioner s worked independently. Very convenient.The front and back decks are safe but might give children a splinter so be warned. The back yard is rustic. The owner graciously allowed us to pick some tomatoes and we cooked them and needless to say, fresh and healthy. I also picked a few wildflowers to add a unique local beauty to our stay.Took a walk to the private beach and I can see people really enjoy themselves there. We remained mostly on the property. Been to the river many times and, the home was so comfortable, why leave. The road to the property, easy to navigate but discourages anyone but property owners and guests to enjoy, safe. Private but not too isolating. The few neighbors we spoke to were kind, all smiles and lots of families strolling around. Lastly a great value, way better than a motel or other rentals in the area. We had a great father and son bonding trip. Cheers

A great, cozy loft with quality air conditioning in the main room and the bedroom. Filtered drinking water tap connected to the sink was very useful, as was the shower with hose attachment. The free produce from the garden was a nice bonus.

We enjoyed staying in this cozy cottage near the river. It was peaceful and had everything we needed. We enjoyed sitting on the back deck and having our coffee in the morning. The bed was very comfortable.

Cozy for sure. Had just what we needed for a nice weekend away. Not a high end property, but that wasn’t what we were looking for. Lovely deck in back to hang out and have morning coffee with local birds. Felt pretty private even though you’re in the middle of a neighborhood. Would definitely come back.

Why they chose this property

The summer of 89 we met each other at a summer camp in the area. All the counselors used to take our breaks along the Russian River. One break while inner tubing down the River, we dreamed of our future and decided one day we'd have a house on the river. It took about 30 years, but now, with the help of family, we have our Cozy Cottage!

Any food growing on the property is yours to enjoy during your stay. Seasonal veggies from the garden, plums in the summer, persimmons in the fall and, if you're lucky, a fig. Pus anything in the fridge or cabinets.
