General House Rules:
1. No smoking of any kind inside the house.
2. Use only toilet tissue in toilets, the house is on a septic tank.
3. Clean up after your dog.
4. Dispose of all trash in the blue container by the gate upon checkout.
5. Avoid putting food or oils down the drain; no garbage disposal available.
6. No parties or events allowed. Respect the noise curfew.
7. No illegal substances on the premises.
8. Do not rearrange the furniture.
9. Avoid eating or drinking in bedrooms.
10. Turn off the AC/Pellet Stove when leaving.

Power Consumption:
• The house operates on 100% solar power. Mindful energy use is vital.
• The 30KWH battery bank lasts throughout the evening under regular use.
• Use the pellet stove for heat; avoid running mini-splits all night.
• Open windows during sunny, warm days; close them by sunset.
• An electric start generator is available for backup electric if needed. It will charge up the batteries but NOT run major appliances.

Water Usage:
• Gray water from the main bathroom & shower and washer goes to a basin.
• Mind the items flushed down the toilet; use only provided toilet tissue.
• Water comes from a private well and is pumped to the silver storage tank.
• Propane gas is used for hot water via the instant heater in the pantry.
• Please use the main shower for larger groups to prevent overwhelming the septic tank.


Heating:
The pellets for the stove are located in the guest bedroom. One bag will fill up the hopper. Turn on the unit using the remote control and allow 3-5 minutes for the flames to get going. The stove will heat up most of the house. Keep bedroom and bathroom doors open to ensure heat reaches those rooms. Use the remote to turn the flame up or down. If the flame goes out, turn off the unit and make sure the pellet hopper is at least half full.

TV:
The TV is hidden in the white TV stand in the living room. Use the remote, velcroed to the left of the TV stand to raise and lower the TV. The other remote is to operate the external shade to block the sun glare in the afternoons.

Animal Area:
• A 10,000 sq ft animal run is available for use dogs during your stay.
• We have coyotes and Javalina, so please do not leave small animals unattended.
