Beautiful 1940's Spanish adobe hideaway nestled in a beautiful private south palm springs neighborhood. Spectacular Mountain views from the private tiled courtyard with a custom pool and jacuzzi. All the tranquility that Palm Springs has to offer, yet minutes from the downtown village if you feel like going to town.

You will instantly feel like you are home as soon as you walk through the door of this quaint charming villa filled with antiques and old world appointments. And you will never want to leave the enormous master bedroom with its own sitting area and views onto private poolside patio while you enjoy fresh picked fruit from the citrus grove right on the property!.

Our host Steven was quick to reply to texts and calls. Steven is exceptional, he was able to accommodate an early check in for us. Secondly it’s rare to find a property in Tahquitz River Estates accepting two night rental. Thirdly the location is excellent. It’s walking distance to a few of our favourite restaurants and pubs. This was our second stay at Steven’s home, first stay was a few years ago which helped fast familiarization to the property. We would certainly book our stay here again. Chris

Great Time in Palm Springs

Our family had a great time at Steven's place. Very close to downtown and we were able to walk to breakfast/lunch/dinner a couple times. Would love to stay again.

Very charming old-school Palm Springs home with a pool and hot tub in a great neighborhood. We took lots of walks with the dogs, and it is a very short drive to all the shopping and dining Palm Springs offered.We wish we could have stayed longer.

A charming house with great character.

The courtyard is beautifully gardened with hummingbirds and lovely orange trees! The pool and jacuzzi area is old school but lovely. Very close to downtown - a vey fast, affordable Uber ride for us!

Great location, French-inspired decor!

Steven was a great host, communicative, helpful, and has great taste! Each room has interesting furniture, and put together like one you would find in southern France. Within walking distance are fabulous restaurants, a great coffee place, a botanical garden and you can stroll through surrounding neighborhoods filled with post-modern architecture and desert landscaping at its finest.

This property is cute but a little dated. Needs a tree taken out in front before someone busts their head open on it, and a couple lamps were old and no light bulbs. Other than that Steven was great and accomodating.

Perfect Location

This was a perfect, dog friendly house with close proximity to Ace hotel for family destination wedding! Also close to Koffi for morning coffee and dogs are welcome. Loved the back yard with pool and hot tub (although the instructions are complex to operate initially). Never turned on the TV as we were too busy. A few negatives - bathroom sinks should have stoppers that work, no operating ice in the freezer, and few pillows and those available with minimal filler. Check in process is a lot compared to other VRBOs, but these are items that are required by Palm Springs for short term rentals.

PS House

The house has a spider problem and if you are looking for a hot pool then this isn't the place. There is a huge lush shade tree that covers the pool which some might really enjoy but I wanted Sun all day! Besides running out of toilet paper and not having any the house was good.

Hi Amy, Thanks for your feedback! We do have regular pest control service at the house, so sorry to hear you encountered a spider during your stay. I reached out to housekeeping to confirm there was an initial supply of toilet paper for your stay. It's unfortunate you ran out, but I'm glad I was able to have some delvered to you within an hour after you let me know. I understand for some guests, they like to be in the pool itself and have sun for the entire day and It does seem the tree cuts off the sun. The the extremely high mountains wich create a really great view restrict the sun in the afternoons. Fortunately the pool is in full sun for much of the day with the half of the yard with the chase lounges and in full sun until it's blocked by the mountains. Thanks again for your stay. It was great to have you as guests!

Charming Palm Springs Spanish style home!!

We loved our stay here! Great pool and spa! Loved the roku box with Netflix and Hulu! We have two young daughters under the age of 5 and we thought it was great for everyone. Pull out couch in adjoining den/study makes for a great extra room. Master is huge and cozy and there's another extra room. Could fit more than one family I think! Super cute house. We bbq'd, laid out, went swimming, cooked, drank wine and just had a wonderful visit here. Super duper close to downtown with much life and activity. Very close to the Marilyn statue which we love! Steven is a wonderful person to work with. Zero zero issues at all. We dont have a dog, but i think its pet friendly too?! Check his place out, you won't regret it. Can't wait to make this an annual vacation! Thanks again Steven!

Helpful host

The host helped us greatly by recommending several restaurants, particularly two wonderful ones within walking distance. That gave us more of a chance to explore the neighborhood, which is chock-full of well-preserved mid-century modern homes. The house itself has an enticing courtyard (complete with a pool, patio furniture, and fruit trees) that made me feel like I had arrived at a tropical resort. The house is arranged around it, and several French doors open onto this courtyard, which is another plus. There were some minuses, including hard-to-find light switches, a step down into the bedroom that somehow escapes attention (lots of stubbed toes), the absence of a viable dresser in the main bedroom, a makeshift TV set up in there, and no counter in the bathroom I used, plus a dated kitchen. We made it all work, and we had a nice time. Again, the host was quite helpful in giving tips on light switches, etc.

Relaxing, Homey Getaway

Our stay was great. The house is located in a quiet residential area of Palm Springs, yet walking distance to restaurants, and a quick 5 min. drive to downtown shopping or the airport. It is decorated very well with antiques, vintage pieces, and overstuffed sofas and linens. You really do feel like you are staying in a Spanish villa. It has great architechtural detail, and is not for those looking for modern or contemporary. That said it still has the modern conveniences like dishwasher and microwave and a fully stocked kitchen, stackable washer/dryer and wonderful pool and jacuzzi. The backyard pool patio is totally private, and there is also a small side yard, private and fenced that is great for letting your dog out, if you need. Lovely citrus trees in the yard, and the oranges are sweet! Note that the house does sleep 6, but two on a sleeper sofa as that is located in the den. Also, if the house is full, those sleeping in the master bedroom will have to walk through the attached den to get to the nearest bathroom, as there is not a master bathroom. I would consider the house perfect for two couples, or in a pinch, 5-6 people. I would definitely stay here again, it feels very homey.

Overall - very good!

Steven was a wonderful host. Very responsive. The house was great - large and comfortable. I would have to say that both the front and back yards need a lot of TLC. Trimmed bushes and vines would add to the appeal. Also more outdoor lights by the pool and hot tub - extremely dark. Many of the lights were burned out both inside and out.

Why they chose this property

I fell in love with this house on a fluke driving by. It was for sale in 2004 and I just stopped in to look because it had such cur appeal. I felt relaxed and at home the minute I walked in. Next week I was the proud owner. I have several vacation properties in the desert, but I love staying here whenever its not rented to you!!!

What makes this property unique

Peaceful, quiet, mountain views and several great restaurants within walking distance. I love making fresh juice in the mornings right from one of the 5 amazing citrus trees in the yard. Grapefruit, Oranges, Tangerines and Lemons!!!
