Disliked: Cleanliness, check-in, communication, location, listing accuracy
This rental was managed with more focus on fee warnings than basic cleanliness and safety. We arrived to a home that had not been properly cleaned. Bathrooms showed black growth/discoloration consistent with mold in the showers and on the shower curtains. The hot tub was advertised, yet only half of it worked.The “extra bed” we paid for, which solidified our reservation, was a pullout couch blocked by a pool table. Signs throughout the house warned not to move furniture or incur fees, so the pullout was effectively unusable. Even if it were usable, only sheets were provided (no blankets/comforter).Safety issues were serious: a downstairs bedroom outlet only worked if a plug was left partially inserted (wouldn’t work fully inserted), and on our last evening a chair collapsed under my brother-in-law and he fell. He could have been badly hurt, and I couldn’t imagine the damages had one of our children been in his place instead. I contacted Jackson Mountain Rentals and VRBO each day of our 3-day stay and wasn’t meaningfully helped until the evening before checkout. When I finally spoke with Christy(management) the next morning, the response was dismissive and nothing was resolved. She could not have cared less to fix anything and let me know JMR was unwilling to help in any situation where they were not contacted immediately. I tried to contact them every day we were there. I cannot recommend any listing managed by Jackson Mountain Rentals, ever. RUN.
