Make yourself at home in this charming 2-bedroom Whidbey Island retreat. This delightful cottage features 2 bedrooms with queen beds, a bathroom with a shower, shampoo and body wash and hair dryer. Enjoy amenities like heating and AC. Well stocked full kitchen if you are staying in to cook. Beautiful, private grounds and quiet surroundings where you can do your yoga on the porch or grass before breakfast. Enjoy your morning coffee at the table on the deck or dinner on the patio surrounded by flowers and the beautiful meadow. Curl up in one of the seating areas outside or inside in the lovely living room with a book from our small book collection. Or have fun with games and puzzles that we provide. Owners live in an adjacent home on the property. You will have complete privacy as we are across the meadow. We respect your privacy but are available if you need us. There is so much to do here on Whidbey. Hike, bring your bike or paddleboard. Island Shakespeare Festival, Django Fest, Mystery weekend. Music, wineries, breweries and restaurants. Enjoy what Whidbey island has to offer with a stay at our enchanting cottage.

We had a great stay at the meadow retreat cabin. It was clean, comfortable, family friendly, and was a great place to relax. Our son loved that there were kids books to read and he also enjoyed walking around outside.

We loved the cottage, in spite of the 10-minute drive from the WICA Djangofest venue. Easy to find on Maxwelton Road, with Mary's flower stand at the entrance. The house was amazingly well appointed and stocked with everything we needed. I was impressed by the little post-it notes placed around the house politely explaining how things worked and what was expected of the guests.Only thing we couldn't figure out was the how to ask the heat pump to give us a little warmth in the chilly mornings. It seemed to think we needed cooling off...What a delight to find flowers at the door when we came home from the festival concerts. We would like to book the house for the 2027 Djangofest NW, if possible. (likely dates would be September 16, 17, 18, Thursday-Saturday, although the schedule has not been published). Also, we are thinking that next year we may invite another couple who we believe will enjoy the music festival, as they are both guitar players.

We had a wonderful stay at this beautiful, characterful cottage. It was comfortable, clean and homely with so many thoughtful touches from the hosts. We particularly enjoyed the fabulous garden and watching the wildlife was so relaxing. We would thoroughly recommend this cottage to anyone looking to relax in this lovely part of the world. We are professional gardeners, we run a flower stand all summer. The island has been our home for over 4 decades. We love the outdoors, hiking and biking and exploring our beautiful PNW.

The Maxwelton Valley is a beautiful place. There is a rich history here. It’s very quiet and peaceful with deer, rabbits, hummingbirds, eagles all to see from the shade of the maple trees.

What makes this property unique

Our property is one of the most beautiful of the Maxwelton Valley. Quiet, centrally located and safe. Enjoy your time here relaxing in the yard, eat your breakfast on the deck while the hummingbirds go buzzing by. Or listening to the birds, watching bunnies and deer. This property has been our home
for 40 yrs. We have built these homes for our enjoyment and would like to share this one with you. Please come and be our guests. You will hopefully love it as much as we have all these years.
