Our family totally enjoyed our stay at this location. We enjoyed the lodging, activities, dining and shopping. The manager was always helpful in answering our questions and meeting our needs. We would gladly recommend this location to other families. Thank you.
Charming place with a lovely relaxing central patio. There is traffic noise but that normal for central city location. You can adjust to that with the fans and earplugs. Very comfortable bed’s everything spotlessly clean. Many extras provided for a comfortable visit. The location could not be better and excellent restaurants near by.!
We loved everything about the house, especially the seating area in the indoor courtyard. You can look at the stars at night in your own private courtyard, which is a unique experience. The only thing we had to adjust to was the noise level from the street. if you are a light sleeper, definitely bring good quality ear plugs. The location is terrific but you get a lot of traffic noise with it, which I didn’t expect. We never cooked the entire vacation, so I can’t comment on the kitchen setup.
We loved out time at this heritage casa. The courtyard was great to meet around and the kids loved running around the fountain. The rooms were comfortable and kitchen had everything we needed. Location can't be beat! So nice to be in close walking distance to our favourite restaurants and shops. Would stay here again.
Amazing location and great property. The courtyard is lovely and the property is spacious. We had 5 people (3 adults, 2 children) and had plenty of room. The bathroom water pressure & hot water was amazing (sounds like a small thing until you check out other plumbing in the area).
We were there the week before Dia de Los Muertos, so it was loud, but we got used to it.
This house is well appointed and delightful with the central courtyard. The manager was available as needed for small issues that arose. The neighborhood is great. The only issue was it was quite noisy, but we were comfortable with earplugs.
It was a lovely home near the Alcalá, the pedestrian street that ends at the zocolo or main square. Near many places to visit and shop, very convenient location. The bedrooms are spacious. The colonial kitchen has modern appliances but isn’t set up well to do much cooking - easier to eat most meals out. Because it’s on a main street it was noisy, but that is to expected with its convenient location. Communication with Moises was easy and responsive. We enjoyed our stay
We really enjoyed our stay! As other reviewers have mentioned, there is a lot of street noise as it’s such a great central location. I found it easy to sleep just by running the fan as white noise and there are fewer cars and noisy passers-by overnight anyway. The courtyard is beautiful and although our trip was packed with activities so we didn’t spend much time at the house other than to sleep, we’d stay again. Moises was very helpful and responsive. Muchas gracias!
This property reflects the culture of Oaxaca beautifully - from the local art to the stunning courtyard. The kitchen and bathroom were well stocked. The location is perfect if you want to be in the mix near the central plaza and close the beautiful Jalatlaco neighborhood and tons of food and artist markets. This also means that it's active at night, with quite a bit of traffic and noise. This wasn't a problem for us. So glad we stayed in Moises' home for an unforgettable stay in Oaxaca City.
We were a party of 3 friends who wanted to explore Oaxaca. This was a great location. We could walk to the markets, the zocolo, botanic garden, museums, churches, interesting neighborhoods and many good restaurants. The house was great for us. We each had a spacious comfortable bedroom. We hung out in the courtyard whenever we were home. It was lovely! There is also a rooftop terrace. The kitchen is well equipped but we never cooked. Going out was easy, interesting, and inexpensive compared to the US. I would recommend this home. Only challenge was the wi-Fi which is fine in the courtyard, but weak in some of the bedrooms.

Great location!
For the most part our stay here was very good. The location was really great, easy walking distance to everything we wanted to see in town. The beds were comfortable and the rooms were very big. We didn’t really use the kitchen but it seemed to have everything you would need if you were using it.
We did have a bit of difficulty communicating with the owner but it got better near the end of our stay when we started using WhatsApp. We ran out of water at the beginning of our stay but they had it fixed by the time we got back from our activities for the day.
The photos of the place do not accurately depict the overall place. I asked the owner if he could send me additional pictures and he said no. The layout worked great for our family but I’m going to describe it for anyone who cares. All of the rooms open up to a central courtyard and none of them connect to each other except the kitchen and dining room. There is a “living room” but it is in the bedroom that has twin beds. This bedroom is also the noisiest at night since it is on the same side as a busy street (the other two bedrooms are on the side of a less busy street). There are 2 bathrooms but we didn’t know where the second bathroom was (and I asked with no response) until the owner gave us permission to go up on the roof to watch a parade. The 2nd bathroom is up the stairs to the roof which has a gate with a padlock on it. We didn’t know the keys were in the kitchen for this gate.
We would stay again.

Definitivamente no volveríamos a rentar ahi.

Gracias
We enjoyed staying here immensely. There were only four of us and we had plenty of room in the courtyard and bedrooms and it was close to everything we wanted to visit. The house has every amenity you could imagine to make margaritas food etc. I would definitely stay here again. A little bit noisy since it’s on the corner of two major streets.
This is a beautiful home that is located close to everything. We really enjoyed relaxing in the courtyard after a long day of exploring. There was plenty of space for all of us to spread out. I read other reviews about mosquitoes and was slightly concerned, but we never saw any in the home. We had one minor issue and as soon as we contacted the house manager it was rectified within 15 minutes. We can’t wait to return to Oaxaca and stay in this home again!
This is a wonderful rental. I travel a lot and compare across the world. it is right in the center of town ( so yes...bring your ear plugs) and it is within walking distance of nearly everything. I loved the restaurants nearby. For local, casual, cheap but great food--1.5 blocks up and there is a little hotel with a great cafe and restaurant. Or 3 blocks up and you are at Casa Oaxaca--maybe the best restaurant in town.
You are only 3 blocks from the Cathedral and Zocalo and it's so truly authentic Mexican in it's feel, design, character, and location.
Everything is super clean. Kudos to the housekeeper--like super clean. The manager is prompt and nice and well educated. He made my 5:00 a. check-out contactless and easy.
It's all they advertise and more! It is also very well stocked with shampoo, dryer, razors, etc. etc.

Really lovely place
The home is beautiful, and the location cannot be beat. It is a little loud because its near a major street, and access to one of the bedrooms is through a second bedroom. But it was very comfortable and Moises made us feel right at home, with lots of helpful suggestions about the city.

Kinda wonderful.
Perfectly-located, spotlessly clean, lovely home. Host Moises Bailon could not possibly be more helpful and accommodating. It is very noisy, however, so bring earplugs.

Comfort in Living History
We recently stayed in this Historical Gem, which is like a sweet oasis right in the middle of where you want to be in Oaxaca City! Everything you need is in this lovely home, generationally passed down through the Bailon family. You can feel the love of family within these old walls! It is located in the heart of everything you want to see and do. Moises is a superb host, he was there to greet us and show us around the home, and very quick to reply by email for all other questions we had while there, even arranging a taxi to the airport for us on the day of our departure. While there, we enjoyed a trip to Monte Alban. We did a food and culture tour with Mahsa from "Journey's Beneath the Surface" - highly recommended in the beginning of your trip. Food is amazing in Oaxaca and there are more wonderful restaurants then we had time for, but our top two pics were "Tierra Del Sol" which is right up the same street (be sure to have Sopa Azteca - Tortilla Soup) and also "Pitiona's which is not far from the Cathedral, an easy walk from the house, one you will take often! The suckling pig taco's at Pitiona's are very memorable! This home sits right on the corner of a very busy intersection, ear-plugs are a bonus, but even with traffic noise its very worth the opportunity to to stay here and relax in the courtyard for morning coffee or an afternoon siesta is quite lovely.
Oaxaca memory's are still lingering and we look forward to our return. We will request this home again!

Very central, but extremely noisy!!
We stayed at this home for 2 weeks in February. The location is very central and there is a lot of room. Mr. Moises is very conscientious and professional. He went out of his way to make sure that the home was very prepared with the kitchen and bathrooms having a lot of supplies. The home itself is in a very noisy location, being at the corner of 2 very busy streets. Also there is construction directly above and next door, which may go on for many months. Therefore, the noise level is high throughout the day and night. We used earplugs which became tiring after 2 weeks. We would definitely contact Mr. Moises again to see if he had different accommodation.

Traditional House in Central Oaxaca
The house is, indeed, beautiful. It's a calm oasis in the City's historic district. The owner was very accommodating, greeted us, knows Oaxaca in depth, and remained available for contact during our stay. The place is well equipped, comfortable, and well maintained. The location is great. We hope to return.

I was born and raised in Oaxaca almost all my life. My best hobbies are traveling. I enjoy visiting new places, learning new languages, trying new food and getting to know different cultures.
