Amazing 4 days and 5 nights spent at this VRBO. Everything was very convenient to location. The porch being within 20 feet of the lake just made this vacation perfect. For anyone who is looking at the stars on a clear night you are able to see the Milky Way.
The house was very clean and cozy, had everything you needed. Enjoyed sitting by the lake. The water is very shallow, you can walk out so far! Was so lovely to unplug and relax.
Beautiful, comfortable cabin, on a quiet cove. Great for kids and families with pets. The only problem we had was the listing didn't make it clear the property was a shared with other cabins in close proximity. This makes it a great option for multiple families or larger groups, though, so look into booking multiple cabins! Very accommodating and communicative owner. We had a great time, thanks!
It was so relaxing and a great location. Everything was clean and the amenities were great. There was wood provided for the fire pit. Easy check in and out. The owner Steve, got back to me right away when I had questions.
My family of 5 had a blast kayaking, swimming, cooking out, making s’mores, eating in the Amish screen room, and exploring the local towns. We saw great herons, loons, fish and frogs in the pond. The cabin had a full kitchen, bathroom and space for all of us. I would return and highly recommend this listing.
We recently stayed over the weekend & had a great time. The house was clean, had great amenities, which we enjoyed many of & is pet friendly. Loved the views & was able to make the most of that with the use of the kayaks available right by the water, life jackets were also available. Enjoyed the fire pit & the convenience of having chopped wood available on sight put it over the top! The location worked out so well, we were able to enjoy some of the natural wonders of Acadia National Park without going too far. Would definitely want to stay again.

Liked: Cleanliness, check-in
Disliked: Location
The cottage was comfortable, spotless, and well-equipped, but there are 4 cottages on the property, rather close together. I am glad I was the only vacationer, as there would have been little privacy if the others were occupied. The listing doesn't make clear that route 1 is very close, with traffic a constant noise, though the cottage muffles it somewhat. The host allows dogs, but there is no place to walk them. A few more blankets and a good reading lamp by the sofa would have been welcome. Best amenities: great washer and dryer and a fascinating history book of Toddy Pond.
Loons and UMaine Graduation: Who Could Ask for Anything More?
We visited for my daughter’s graduation from The University of Maine. This was so much prettier than staying in a hotel in Bangor. Toddy “Pond” is so big and beautiful. Maine names ponds that are really the size of lakes.Toddy Pond is clean and serene. If you want to visit Acadia, this is the perfect place to stay away from the insanity of traffic in the Bar Harbor region. You can visit the park by day, then come back here for a kayak adventure of loon calls and Bald Eagle sightings. (Two loons visited right in front of the lodge both days we were there.) Food is much more affordable in this area as well. The grocery stores in the Bar Harbor area jack up the prices because they can. The house is clean and stocked with what you need. The hosts are responsive and easy to work with. I loved that the lodge is dog friendly. We’ll be back!
My family (two teens, two adults) very much enjoyed our 5 might stay at the cabin. The view of the lake out the slider doors is serene. The on site kayaks were easy to use. The swimming platform was fun. The house is a new(ish) construction with nice kitchen and bathroom countertops. We also enjoyed the location - just off Route 1 so easy to get to other places. (We spent a day in Acadia and did two trips to Castine for bioluminescent paddling and the Wilson museum.) We would definitely stay here again. There are a few downsides. First off, cell service was largely non-existent. We could get text messages through occasionally but needed to drive a couple miles down the road to access more robust cell service. (There is also no wi-fi to make up for it.) Second, the water is "soft" and while it is perfectly safe, it tastes off. I'm usually opposed to buying water but ended up buying several gallons at the local Hannaford for drinking. Two smaller issues - the downstairs bed is VERY squeaky and the stairs to the upper level are very steep. If you come prepared for these issues, it's quite a lovely place to stay.
