One of the oldest buildings in Zinal, Les Violettes is a authentic two-bedroom chalet built in 1803. Completely renovated in 2017, the interior was modernized and equipped with the latest technology while the essence of the 1803 chalet remains intact. The chalet offers majestic views of the mountains and benefits from its unique location in the center of the village steps away from the cable car, grocery stores, restaurants serving local specialties, and a pool and spa.
The living room is spacious and furnished with a classically Swiss touch. The original walls have been preserved and the room features the stone stove that heated the chalet in the 1800s. Today, under floor heating provides a comfortable and consistent temperature. A modern sofa mixes with furniture and souvenirs from earlier times. Two sunny balconies are accessible from the living room and provide views of the mountain summits.
The kitchen has everything you need to make your stay tasty. It is fully equipped with an induction cooktop, oven, dishwasher, microwave, Nespresso coffee machine and toaster. Fondue pots, raclette and charbonnade grills are also included. A bar made out of old wood and a dining table and chairs completes the kitchen space.
The bathroom features a rain shower, towel warmer and hair dryer. The bedrooms are well lit with windows that showcase the Swiss Alps. Towels, sheets, duvets and pillows are provided.
Other chalet amenities include a flat screen HD Smart television, high speed Internet, Bluetooth wireless Denon speakers, a washer and dryer and on-site parking.

Why they chose this property
Zinal is a traditional village in the Val d'Anniviers at an altitude of 1675 meters. It is at the feet of five Alpine peaks that tower above 4000 meters aka "the Imperial Crown". Zinal is a sports paradise in winter and summer; an amazing location for fans of the outdoors. In 2016, CNN named Zinal Europe’s best-kept secret ski resort. National ski teams from Switzerland, France, Italy, Germany, Austria and the US hold training camps in Zinal to take advantage of the ski area which boasts more than 120 kilometers of slopes in the middle of one of the most beautiful breathtaking panorama in the Alps.
Zinal is also a sports paradise in the summer. There are more than 300 kilometers of marked trails with many mountain huts to discover. It is a stage on the tour around the Matterhorn and a stop of "the Haute Route" that links Zermatt to Chamonix. In August, Zinal is the finish line of one of the best trail races in the world which links Sierre to Zinal - over 31 kilometers, ascending 2200m. Mountain biking is also very popular.
Zinal is a hidden gem. We would be delighted to have you discover it by staying with us. We need to warn you though: once you come to Zinal you are likely to fall in love with it and the rest of the Val d'Anniviers and come back again and again....
What makes this property unique
The chalet was constructed in 1803 and is one of the first chalets built in the village. It originally only had one room which was only used in the summer. A second floor was added in 1896. The chalet still contains antiques that date to that period including a stone stove that dates from 1876.
