Great location, right on the lake. The cottage is small but perfectly formed, with everything you need for a great stay. The big master bedroom is beautiful, and the views out the windows were breathtaking.
We so enjoyed Cottage Core on Keuka. The cottage is incredibly cute and seamlessly blends modern amenities with classic lake cottage esthetic. The owner was direct and clear in their communication and thoughtful about providing beach shoes and kitchen basics. Would love to stay here again!
We had an amazing time! We loved the decor of the cottage, it was so comfortable and had beautiful views of the lake. The screened in porch was great as we could still enjoy the scenery even when it rained. The shale beach made it easy for launching kayaks. It was also a great spot for swimming as there were no weeds. We truly enjoyed our stay and Karin was great at communicating everything we needed to know prior to our check in.

About the host
Hosted by Karin Simpson
I grew up outside of Mansfield PA, but spent most Sundays at one or the other set of grandparents — who both lived not far from the lake. My mom spent summers at the lake with her cousin. She brought my brothers and me to the lake. And I brought my children here for summer vacations. We shared the lake with family and friends. Having our own cottage is a truly a dream come true.
Why they chose this property
The view of the lake from the porch never gets old.
What makes this property unique
We had to tear down the original cottage and it broke my heart. I had always wanted an old Keuka cottage. I was determined to build a new cottage with just as much character as the old. We salvaged the old knotty pine from the original cottage and traveled as far as north of Lake George in the Adirondacks to source more old knotty pine. The walls in the main room, small hallway and main bedroom are knotty pine. I found a French door that had been taken out of a house built in the 30’s. So much vintage charm — with lots of modern amenities — as demonstrated by all the photos — especially those of the kitchen and bath.
