Charming Victorian in Dobbs Ferry - Westchester
This re-furbished family home is now being rented. Close to the quaint downtown of Dobbs Ferry, and across the street from Gould Park. 35-mins train to downtown Manhattan. Perfect for families, kids or groups. Plenty of space in the home, across 3-floors, with a huge backyard. Well setup for wfh or for commuting. Available for short-term rentals or longer term (discounted) stays. Come explore Dobbs Ferry and the other nearby Rivertowns; aka "the new Brooklyn".
My husband and I have owned & loved this home for 20+ years. My daughter in law helped us redesign and refurbish it just a few years go. She has done a wonderful job managing the property but now I am ready to be your host. Almost everything in the home is brand new for renters including the linens, dishes, BBQ, appliances, mattresses, pillows, rugs, etc.
There's plenty of space to spread out across the 3 floors, but please note there’s only one full bathroom:
1) Ground Floor: features the kitchen, living room w/ TV, and dining room, as well as 1/2 bath. From this floor, you can easily access both the backyard and front porch.
2) 2nd Floor: features the 3 bedrooms (2 with king beds, and 1 with a single) as well as the full bathroom.
3) 3rd sFloor: has a second living space for living and hanging out, along with a separate additional potential office area.
Additionally, there's a full basement with laundry and a garage (currently used mainly for storage).
Outside, you'll find a gigantic backyard with an outdoor dining area including a large table, an outdoor bar, and several benches. There's another hangout space on the front porch.
The home is a Victorian with beautiful original details like crown moldings and wood floors. It's an older home, so it can come with its quirks, but it has been lovingly restored and updated to make it as modern as possible.
This is a family oriented, quiet neighborhood— please make sure that will be a fit for you before booking. There should be no large gatherings, loud groups or outside parties. Please bring noise/groups inside by 9pm. Please no smoking inside or outside the house.
Guest access
Cars are best, but you can walk or bike if you prefer.
There's easy street parking behind the house (with direct access to the backyard and back, main entrance to the home).
If you want to walk or bike, the village is .5 miles away and the train station is about a mile. Uber and Lyft are also available.
