The yard is very well taken care of, and I felt like the inside of the home was clean. The beds were very comfortable. But there was a bad smell. It smelled like someone had been smoking quite heavily in it previously. My neighbor had to quit smoking because he got throat cancer, and after he quit he could not believe how bad his house stunk. His closets, everything. That is what it smelled like. Old reeking smoke smell.

Convenient to Aztec National Monument but...
This property was close to the Aztec Ruins in Aztec New Mexico which was nice. The flower beds were nice and the yard was well maintained. There was a lockbox on the front porch but in all the emails we received, I could not find the combination. We got there and could not get in and waited about 1/2 hr for the host to call with the code. It was quiet and clean but it smelled like someone had once smoked in the house and the light switches actually had yellow stains. The appliances were really old and needed to be replaced and the kitchen sink was really scratched and stained. The beds were made with only a bottom sheet and there were no pillow cases. We had brought our own sheets just in case so we used what we brought to supplement what was there because we were not sure the coverlets were washed everytime. The mattresses were cheap and offered no support with no mattress pads. Also, one of the bathrooms ran out of toilet paper with no spare that we could locate. The living room only had a sofa which made it hard for 4 people to comfortably watch TV. The TV was large and we used our Prime account to watch several shows. We forgot to turn the thermostat back down to 68 which we feel bad about but hope we did everything else on the list.
