Required a 1,500 damage deposit, the only time I have ever been required to do so.

We do not require a $1,500 damage deposit. That was a VRBO suggested option on our listing which we were unaware of and immediately changed after they let us know. Because the booking was already made, we could not undo it unless the reservation was cancelled and rebooked. Thank you for letting us know about the issue.
