This vacation could've been really good if the basics were all done to ensure a clean property with everything functioning as it should. but its been neglected and chatting with the "owner" feels very robotic and I'm fairly certain it's just a AI chat bot. the owner never showed up to the cottage and didn't resolve any of the issues but VRBO did step in and did as much as they could. I'll definitely be using VRBO again, just not renting this property again.

The property was very nice, just like what you see from the photos on the listing however the house was not very clean. The bedding seemed to be unchanged from the previous guests and some of the dishes we found in the kitchen were not very clean. The host messaged me how my trip was going and when I mentioned that the house wasn't very clean they never responded to me. It seemed like all of there messages were automated. This property could have been very nice with the water access and wonderful places to sit on the water but it was let down with how dirty the house was. If you are planning to stay here make sure you bring detergent to wash the bedding.The photo is a stain that was on one of the beds when we arrived

Would expect more for the price

The overall cleanliness of the cottage was disappointing . The place needs a deep clean and has an ant problem. There was a questionable stain on the bunkbed which lead us to believe the sheets weren’t swapped before we arrived. The dock has a motor running 24/7 (assuming to keep the water clear) so don’t bet on a quiet morning coffee out on the water. The communication was frustrating at times. For example when asking about the garbage policy, they failed to mention that you need clear bags for all garbage and recycling (not provided) and that there’s a 12 fee to at the dump since they don’t provide a dump card for the house. The couches had the legs removed (pictures don’t reflect this) so they are lower on the floor and much less comfortable. Lastly, they had us buy our own propane for the bbq as it was empty when we arrived. That’s pretty unusual for a cottage rental since the bbq is an amenity provided. Would not stay there again.
