1880s country Victorian getaway with dark eclectic decor
30 minutes to St. Francisville & Clark Creek, 1 hr to Baton Rouge, 2 hr to New Orleans. Country getaway. Enjoy peace, tranquility and curiosity at Moon Shadow Manor. Your personal gothic manor at the edge of a small town, hidden amongst the winding country roads of Mississippi.
A Victorian Gothic home built in the 1880s in the sleepy town of Centreville.
This home has been carefully and craftfully converted into a moody, eclectic space worthy of tingling your inner spirit and curiosities.
The manor boasts 2000 sq feet of winding, labyrinthian rooms and hallways, all of which are privately yours to explore.
Enjoy a movie snuggling under the covers on a black velvet sectional sofa. Retire in 3 of the cozy bedrooms each featuring a queen bed, TV, and cozy vibes.
The library features a working phonograph with bluetooth speaker. There is a couch that folds out into a twin bed, as well as an extremely comfortable fold out full-size mattress with linens.
The bathroom features a freestanding tub facing a remote controlled wall of candles. Perfect for a steamy and relaxing bubble bath or warm shower.
The dining room has seating for 6 people, where you can enjoy a feast. Attached to the dining room is a window filled breakfast nook with a corner bench and table to enjoy a morning cup of coffee or a late night glass of wine.
Walk through the dining room to the full kitchen featuring stove/oven, coffee, tea, refrigerator and all dishes and silverware you will need.
Walk out from the kitchen onto the grand screened in back porch, with purple and green lights, perfect for that nighttime spooky vibe with a glass of wine and or a smooth porter on a crisp fall night.
The huge yard features a fire pit with wood included, seating and a barbecue pit.
(7 guests max considering 2 guests per bedroom in queen bed and 1 guest per library)
Dogs allowed. Please do not let on furniture.
The town of Centreville is a VERY sleepy and small town. The kind with one red light. On the way to the town you are surrounded by farms, woods and winding country roads. There is a famous and historic family-owned restaurant called Vines that MUST be visited. Down home country cooking, breakfast through dinner.
The Manor is in the perfect location for mini day trips to...
St. Francisville is 35 minutes from the manor. Perfect little drive to visit the Myrtles Plantation, St. Francisville Inn, Audubon State Historic Site, Angola Rodeo, Clark Creek hiking and so much more.
The town of Woodville is 20 minutes away, featuring gorgeous historic cemeteries, a huge antique store and mom and pop restaurants.
The town of Jackson, LA, is 30 minutes away, with historic sites, an old Civil War cemetery hiding beyond the train tracks in the woods, antique stores, coffee shops and restaurants.
Natchez is 50 minutes north with endless attractions and activities.
