Our stay at Doc House was a wonderful experience. The views inside the home are spectacular! Being able to sit on the couch and see the barges and ships go up and down the waterway was a sight to beheld. Thanks for sending the dolphins to feed along the shore! That was a great treat!
Even though the weather was not the warmest, the family had an awesome time.
For future rental during off season, an enclosed golf cart would be a great addition.
What a View!
My family recently had the opportunity to stay at the "Doc House" on Bald Head Island.
It was a wonderful experience for everyone. The view from the living room/ kitchen were breathtaking. Even though we had rain a few days, watching the ships and barges go up and down the waterway was a treat to behold. We also were fortunate to spot some dolphins feeding very close to shore!
I'm so glad you had a wonderful experience at Doc House! I agree that the views are definitely breathtaking. I love when the dolphins come out! We would love to have you back again. Contact us to help you book your next vacation. Thanks for tripping with iTrip! -iTrip Vacations NC Beaches
This house was perfect for a last minute winter getaway. The view of the water was amazing and we got a bonus of some stunning sunsets. Easy walk to the shops and restaurants around the marina and private beach access, just wonderful.

Another Wonderful Thanksgiving
We stayed at the property last year during Thanksgiving and again this year for Thanksgiving. The first year (2018) was just after the hurricane. The house had been damaged and one bedroom was not ready for rent. The communications with the property manager was outstanding and we enjoyed our vacation.
This year we were very surprised at all the work that had been done to the house. New appliances, windows replaced that view the ocean, the finished bedroom that was damaged after the hurricane...... it was a ton of work. The house has really benefitted. It's gorgeous!
The house is very comfortable and the view of the ocean from the living room is amazing. We were able to order our Thanksgiving dinner from the market on the island as well as use the new appliances to cook our dinner.
The master bathroom has a wonderful shower. Normally I would not call out this item but we rent multiple times a year and typically beach houses will provide a shower that is very small to save space and the water pressure may be low. Not the case here! The tub was a whirlpool type tub and the shower was large and had plenty of water pressure. If you rent regularly this is a big benefit.
The only drawback was the golf cart. It is the slowest on the island. BUT we did not have any issues with the golf cart. We drove all over the island since the weather was nice. We went to East beach each day, the market several times and to the west side of the island. So while the golf cart is slow.. it was very durable and comfortable for us.
Overall another wonderful stay! We will be back.

We had a wonderful Veteran’s Day weekend at the Doc House on Bald Head Island. It was our first time at this location and we couldn’t have enjoyed it more. The house was very inviting. It had everything you could possibly want or need and then some. The view of the Cape Fear from the living room was awesome! From biking, hiking and exploring, you can’t go wrong if you stay at this house!
