Excellent

We had a very nice stay and enjoyed the privacy and view of the ocean! The umbrella outside table was not there, but the home was very well equipped with everything needed. The owners were very responsive, offered valuable traveling advice, and were very easy to communicate with. Highly recommend!

Beautiful spot with incredible views!

We loved our stay! This cottage was the perfect spot for our family to stay for a few days. An easy drive to Antigonish and to other points of interest along the coast. It is clean, cozy, has great amenities (full kitchen and laundry!) and has absolutely stunning views. It is steps away from a beautiful lighthouse and more gorgeous views. The hosts were easy to communicate with and provided great tips. Check in and out was incredibly easy. We highly recommend this rental!!

An Amazing Place Where Memories are Made

Our stay in Cape George was a culmination of one of the best trips I've ever had to the Maritimes. The cabin was meticulous and very comfortable. It had all the amenities anyone would need. The drive was amazingly scenic and just a short distance from Antigonish where we attended our granddaughter's graduation. The view from the cabin was breathtaking as we watched the lobster boats go our for their catch before sunrise, which was another memory we will have for a long time. However, the key to the cabin was not in the lock box as suggested, and it took a few minutes to find it under the mat but a small slip for a wonderful stay at a beautiful place. Thank you Rhona and Nigel.

Lighthouse Road

My family loved this house, both as a point to launch from for our trips to Cape Breton, Halifax, and St. Francis Xavier University, and as a place of rest after long days of hiking, fishing, bird watching, and exploring. The views are spectacular and ever-changing. We began and ended our days at the lighthouse; coffee in the morning and wine in the evening. The house itself was clean, well appointed, and provided both an accommodating gathering space and private spaces. We also used the outside fire pit and gazed at the stars. Thank you for sharing your house!

Fresh, clean and cozy

Our stay was wonderful at this cozy cottage situated with a view of the ocean in the distance and a stone's throw to Cape George's lighthouse. The property was very clean and everything inside was new. We loved it and will recommend to friends and family. Many thanks Nigel and Rhonda.

Lightjhouse Cottage - wonderful gem

My wife and I spent a very pleasant week. with the Lighthouse Cottage our base for daily visits to nearby scenic sites. From the spacious living room we were always aware of the Atlantic Ocean. The drive to Antigonish provided many opportunities for spectacular photography. Your lovely furnished Cottage became our sanctuary after a busy day sight-seeing. Thanks for shareing your property.

Great vacation home!

Just came back from Antigonish, NS. We had a fabulous vacation. My husband and I stayed at this home with my sister and brother-in-law. Two bedrooms. Two bathrooms. We never got in each other's way. All basics provided. As stated in description, 2 minute walk from lighthouse. You do need to arrive at this home with all the staples you require including gas in your car. The home is 30-40 minutes from town. No gas station or convenience store between house and town. I recommend this home to anyone looking for a nice quiet vacation and anyone who likes to take rides and enjoy scenery. Loved Nova Scotia!

breathtaking view

We had a relaxing and enjoyable stay at the cottage. Not being familiar with the area, it was more remote than expected. We were glad to have taken some groceries with us for our first day. The view from the deck is amazing and peaceful. We bundled up and sat there as much as possible though it was extremely windy and chilly. We enjoyed the Cape Breton area and the town of Antigonish, which was a good30-40 minute drive. Would love kayak info mentioned in review above as that was something we searched for. Would love to return one day.

New St. FX family from British Columbia - perfect breather before drop off day!

The cottage was the perfect setting to enjoy the few days with my daughter before her move in day to St. FX. The 30 minute drive to the University is beautiful! The cottage itself is peaceful, clean and beautifully decorated. The view was unbeatable! So very happy we stayed :)

Perfect

This was a lovely house with a great feel to it. Rhona and her mother went out of their way to help us find kayaks to rent and to recommend great day trips. There are many beautiful little coves around Cape George, but the best day was (on Rhona's recommendation), a drive to Cape Breton Island to have lunch and listen to live Celtic music at the Celtic Music Interpretive Center in Judique and then an afternoon at the lovely beach just up the road in Port Hood. The best part was sitting on the deck at night and looking up at the most magnificent spectacle of stars. We even saw a bunch of meteors. The location is quite remote (20-25 minutes from the town of Antogonish), but that is partly what makes it so wonderful! A fabulous, peaceful place.

A Wonderful Place to Celebrate Fall Colors and Canadian Thanksgiving!

This was our first of hopefully many trips to Nova Scotia’s Northumberland Shore. Our party consisted of one adult and one teenager. Our cottage was spacious, spotlessly clean, and beautifully decorated. The main living space was a good size, with comfortable seating, and floor-to-ceiling windows with gorgeous views complete with stunning sunrises and sunsets. The bedrooms were a good size, well furnished and with extremely comfortable beds. The kitchen was easy to work in and well-stocked with everything you would need for a holiday stay. This was the perfect place to spend Thanksgiving. The weather was amazing, and we loved walking from the cottage up to the lighthouse in the mornings and before sunset. The location made it convenient to head to Cape Breton Island, the Northumberland Shore, and Antigonish. The fall colors were spectacular. At the end of a busy day, we sat on the front porch or in the living room enjoying the fire in the lovely stone fireplace, and from either location could watch another gorgeous sunset over St. George's Bay. The owners were incredibly responsive to any questions or requests, giving very good suggestions. A delight to work with, and always went the extra mile. Lovely hosts, even though not local. We will definitely be back. This place and its owners did not disappoint. Thank you Nigel and Rhona!

All I can say is WOW!

What a great location! The place was very clean, very well decorated, had beautiful views, spectacular sunrises and sunsets, and was a short walk to the Cape George Lighthouse. There are hiking trails nearby and a quaint fishing village a short drive away. There was a full complement of dinnerware, cooking utensils, pots and pans, and appliances. The house itself was beautiful; wish I owned it! The proprietors, who were not local, provided excellent instructions on the location, house rules, and additionally provided condiments and dry food supplies to share; all well beyond our expectations. They were also easy to communicate with via email, very friendly and helpful. This was more than we expected as we usually do timeshare trades through our membership with Club Intrawest. If you know Club Intrawest, you know our standards are high, and this met and exceeded them! I would highly recommend staying here!

Wonderful Memories!

A magical place...gorgeous views, stunning sunsets, coffee at the Lighthouse! My sisters and I, along with our 86 year young mother, had a wonderful stay! Mom had wanted to visit Nova Scotia for years and it was everything she dreamt it would be! The home is just lovely, and was very comfortable for all of us. The owners were a pleasure to work with - answering all our questions, and giving some good suggestions! We rode the ferry to PEI (such fun!), and explored Cape Breton Island a bit (not nearly enough though...will be back!) and had a great lobster dinner at Lobster Suppers in Baddeck. The morning and evening walks to the lighthouse were so peaceful...the wildflowers were beautiful. It was a special time for each of us. Thank you so much Nigel and Rhona, for sharing your beautiful home with us!
