Great stay, location near the BART was ideal because we didn't want to drive into SF and battle for parking every day.

Host is uncommunicative and unethical. Property seems to have an ongoing plumbing issue. Half way through a week stay, we awoke to find the bathroom and kitchen flooded overnight. We called and texted the host repeatedly for hours and got no response. Spent hours working hard to sweep up water with a broom and dustpan, dumping it outside, and use towels to prevent flooding reaching the bedrooms. It seemed clear that this flooding issue had happened before because the floor tiles in the kitchen where water was pooling were already loose when we arrived. Called VRBO customer service (who also unsuccessfully tried to contact the host) and agreed with VRBO that it made sense to check out and go to a hotel and request a refund. After we had booked a hotel and an uber to get to the hotel, the host messaged us saying someone who come to deal with the flooding that afternoon. We informed the host that we had checked out and requested a refund for three unused days. Got a message that evening from the host that the unit was repaired (unlikely, considering the extent of the flooding) and a message the next day asking if we were coming back. I confirmed that we were not. The host then refused to refund any of the three unused nights and further charged us 500 for the plumbing issue (which is clearly an ongoing issue with the unit, not our fault) and “ruined towels”, which could not have possibly been ruined if whoever the host sent to fix the unit had put them in the washer and dryer.
