The property was lovely, the area is up and coming and charming. There is a sofa in the living room that could very comfortably be slept on if needed. We had a great stay!
Cozy little house, perfect for the two of us. Nice kitchen, roomy bathroom, comfy bed. The screened in front porch was THE BEST and where we spent most of our time when we were at the house. The house's location was great and we were able to walk to restaurants and the riverwalk.
Charles was very welcoming and accommodating. There were thoughtful, nice touches throughout the house. For example, chocolates on the bedside tables and a full bag of charcoal for the grill. Any questions or concerns were immediately addressed by Charles. We had some issues with the washing machine but he quickly addressed it. The house is in a great location. Within walking distance of downtown life and restaurants. We will definitely return!
The Blue House is more than charming, it’s quaint, cozy, historic, and charming! This “old school meets new school” house is a perfect blend of modern amenities and a storied home. Beautiful decor and furnishings that complement the old, wood paneling and floors. I was thrilled when I arrived and fell in love with the house as the days passed. I want a place like this! The neighborhood is quiet and the screened in porch is awesome to sit and enjoy without pesky bugs flying around you. About three blocks from downtown. Turn right onto 74 and you’ll hit Wrightsville Beach in about 20 mins. Charles is a responsive host and was helpful in every way possible. Book if you visit Wilmington! It might affectionately be called the “Blue House” but you’ll be anything but Blue while staying here.
The "fenced in yard" was not really fenced. The"fence" was 24" high and the gate clasp was less than flimsy. No dog would be secure in that. It's a nice house that is still worth the price. The electric had problems. We had to reset the kitchen GFIC multiple times. When I told the owner(who lives behind the apartment) that the microwave has tripped it, he told me that I didn't know what I was talking about. He then tried to sell me medical insurance!?! Despite the know it all landlord and electric problems and fake fence, it is still worth the price.

The kitchen GFCI outlet was promptly replaced, resolving the issue.
The front yard is completely fenced with 2 1/2 foot (30") tall steel fence. The entry gate latches securely when the latch is closed completely, so that the locking pin engages. The yard is suitable for well behaved dogs.

About the host
Hosted by Charles Galt
Having lived and traveled around different parts of the country as well as throughout England and Europe, I've spent time in many beautiful cities with character and attractions. My experiences as a guest in these places gave me an appreciation of good hosting and well appointed places to stay, beyond the typical hotel experience.
In my opinion, Wilmington is one of the nicest places around to enjoy food, culture and entertainment, and to be close to the beaches. I've used my experiences to shape my efforts to make Blue House a safe, secure and comfortable home away from home, with all the conveniences of home. I'm sure you'll enjoy your stay!
