Great family weekend

The property was very convenient to the lake and the pool was great. Upstairs people were a bit noisy but overall it was a great weekend getaway. The dehumidifier ran on overload and it can be a bit musty smelling but not enough to ruin our time there.

The condo was clean, beds were comfortable and had everything we needed. The beach and pool were wonderful. It was close to Saint Joseph where we spent a day shopping. The only thing that we would change is to have more privacy on the patio.

The place had all the essentials (except towels). It was a short walk, or golf cart ride, to the lake. We suggest the golf cart! It made it very easy to take all the things we needed to the lake. The pool was warm and right out the back door. The host was easy to communicate with and made the whole procedure easy! It was a great family vacation for us!

Best quiet lake/pool time ever

Condo and Owner was spot on. The amenities and communication for any questions were handled, it was clean, quiet and just what we wanted. The pool was so perfect and warm, clean and not once did we have to share it. The lake/beach was all ours also! Path made it easy access, and was any easy walk from condo. We maybe saw 5 humans the entire time, which is what we wanted! The sound of water was perfect, and the small View we had of beach/lake we wanted more of!

Summer vacation

The property itself was very nice. The pool and golf cart were nice perks as well; kids spent a lot of time in the pool. The beach is maybe a 5-10 min walk with a pretty big drop, I would really recommend the golf cart, especially with kids. It rained a good amount while we were there and there was a musty smell in the master bedroom, that was the only negative thing I would have to say about the property. St. Joe's is about a 10 min drive as well. Nice stay overall.

This is a wonderful location, we really enjoyed having the golf cart to ride to take to a well kept beach spot, it would have been quite the walk, especially with all our beach stuff. The heated pool was so much fun for the kids, definitely a plus for this rental.Being that this Unit is a bottom level (garden entrance) it is much like a basement, with so much moisture, the dehumidifier could not keep up. We literally emptied the dehumidifier up to 7-10 times a day. The air conditioner was two wall units that were not working properly, the main wall unit in the main living area was leaking water our entire stay, we put our plastic tub under the unit and collected 4-5 gallons of water in a day. The owner said that he would get someone out to fix it, but wanted us to be there, but we were out doing our vacation, so it never got repaired while we were there, and was insufficient cooling. The moisture left a musty smell that was difficult for those with allergies. Lastly, this is a bottom unit with two other units above it, making it excessively noisy at times.

The arrival and check-in was a little confusing but owner sent exact instructions step by step where to find key and process. One mistake right side post instead of left side post. Owner very responsive! The property/owner had a new golf cart for the ride down to the beach. Renting the golf cart a must as the walk down is steep if you are transporting any beach play items! Although this condo is well equipped for a beach getaway MANY things about the listing were misleading. This listing reads as though it’s a private house. It is a condo… in a basement with cannibis lovers and what I can only assume was a herd of children hopped up on Mountain Dew as neighbors. If anyone in your group is a light sleeper, look elsewhere as the “sound proofing” leaves little to the imagination and upstairs neighbor bathroom habits will be known to you. The pool is shared with two condo buildings. The “private entrance” is a patio shared with two other units that has small storage boxes as dividers. The only entrance/exit is a sliding glass door. No deadbolt. Children’s room directly located next to sliding door.No view of lake/beach from this unit unless it’s winter, maybe? Master bedroom has no windows which is great if you need total darkness to sleep. Very musty and damp despite dehumidifier. Uneven flooring and too-small doorways made it nearly impossible for my elderly mother (currently needing a walker) to stay with us.

Amazing pool and sunsets, no beach though.

Our family loved our 6 days in Michigan at this property. We have a 5 and 8 year old and the pool is what made the whole property worthwhile. The pool is heated and large and very clean. It’s shared with the other condo units but even over the weekend it was never remotely crowded. The condo was also nicely updated and clean upon arrival. Communication with the owner was also quick and pleasant. That said, the private beach on the property is not at al accessible. We understood that with the unprecedented high water levels that the beach front could be much diminished and when we enquired about it, Tony was upfront about the beach erosion. What he didn’t say is that where the beach access used to be, the entire hillside has collapsed and is roped off by fencing and caution tape. This made that beach front fully inaccessible for our family, which felt like a larger omission than was shared. There were a few small issues like lack of any shades on the kids bunk room glass doors that opened onto to the living room, this wouldn’t been an easy fix. Bring extra towels/blankets to cover the glass doors until this (hopefully) gets addressed. The master bedroom/bathroom also has an odd door(s) to another unfinished area that gives off a strong mildew smell. At the end of the day though, even without the beach and the other small indiscretions, our kids had a blast and are asking when we go back. With some minor improvements and a bit more transparency about the beach, this unit would be an absolute gem!

Girls Weekend Getaway

Normally I am not one to leave reviews, but I feel like I need to validate why I gave the score I did for this rental. Upon arrival, it was beyond difficult to even get the slider door open, it took two people to get it opened and then to get it locked when we left, which could be an issue if you are not strong enough to get it closed. While the place was clean and well maintained, there is a horrible musty smell that comes from the master bedroom. We thought with some air fresheners this would go away, but it did not. As someone that is spending a lot of money to stay here for 3 nights, I think these things should be disclosed. Lastly, whoever stayed above us decided from 1AM – 4AMthey were going to run back and forth – quite literally they went from one end to the other on repeat and then there was dragging of furniture for several hours. The first night we thought maybe they got in late and were unloading, but it happened every single night. While we know this is something that you can’t necessarily control, just would like others to be aware that this can happen during their weekend. If you have kids or plan on being loud yourself, then you won’t really worry about it. The plus is there is a nice pool and walking distance to the beach – it is a steep hill coming back, but doable. The weekend overall turned out great and like I said, it was good enough for what it was, but I would want to be warned of these things, especially when a lot of money is involved for a we

Nice property with just a couple quirks

The location was nice with access to a pool - which was well maintained and heated. The pool is large - just shallow (3-5ft) for anyone that enjoys jumping in a deeper end. But refreshing. The lake is just a few hundred feet away and has a nice beach. The golf cart is a must to navigate the hill to the beach if you plan to carry anything there. The house could use.a bit of "spring cleaning" in a few spots - but mostly clean. The quirky things to us were having to empty a couple of de-humidifiers every few hours. One had a leak and had to be unplugged during our stay. Another were some interesting smells - a bit musty - probably due to the dampness, the septic would also leach out a bit of nastiness every now and then and a corner neighbor enjoyed their weed. So those were the interesting smells. But all in all a good location, nice beach and good pool.

Great Family Vacay!

We often stay at the same place when we go to Michigan, this year it was booked. We were very pleased with this vacation getaway. The location is amazing, perfect layout for the family. The pool and golf cart were an added bonus. We will definitely return next year.

Perfect Family Getaway!

The owner was friendly and easy to communicate with. The condo had a great open concept living area and lots of room for our entire family. The only downside was that the bathrooms were small and there is a humidifier that needs emptied frequently. However, the pool was really nice and the beach was amazing! I definitely recommend renting the golf cart to drive to the beach!

Having a rental unit up here the last 20 years and truly enjoying the rental part of our little lake house only made me want to do more. when this unit came up for sale, it was an easy choice to go for it, do the extensive remodel and utilize the beauty of Lake Michigan and this incredible beach to share a little piece of paradise with others. Having two young boys (11 and 15 now) this area is their home away from home. A quick day trip or a long weekend lights up their little lives and hearing back from so many how much they enjoyed their trip is really rewarding. It's a great experience on both sides. This place is incredible from what it was -- so, as I always say -- come spend another day in paradise with us this summer!! Hurry, this won't last!!
