About Joanna Ozga
We are architects with a practice based in Chicago. First of all, we were attracted to Saint Martin because of the unique situation and our love of the water sports like windsurfing, boats and, more recently, kite-surfing. We return to the island because of the fantastic French cuisine, breathtaking views and the friendships we have formed with local residents. We have completely rehabbed d the studio of Mount Vernon in 2013. We speak French and English.
Why Joanna Ozga chose Orient Bay
Orient Bay is the best beach you could find in Caribbean with soft white sand and turquoise 85-degree water and air temperate weather ranging from 75 to 85 degrees, all year round. The Mount Vernon residences, located on the north end of Orient Beach, are calm and the three story buildings are designed on a human scale. Orient beach offers access to all possible water sports, a private pool and lounge deck, and the numerous restaurants that let guests taste exquisite French cuisine with a Creole twist.
What makes this Apartment unique
Our beachfront apartment building, Antigua is located directly on the shore, so guests enjoy an uninterrupted ocean view. The luxurious property features a mix of short-term and permanent residents, so guests experience daily life in the Caribbean, and discover the Island on their own terms. The second floor (American 3rd floor) is optimal for getting a light, fresh breeze from the ocean while staying comfortable day and night without the need for air conditioning (AC is, of course, provided, should guests prefer it). A new sliding glass door that hides behind a sidewall pocket gives a unified feel to the space and lets guests enjoy total freedom between the indoor living space and the outdoor balcony. New, electronically controlled exterior rolling shutters allow guests to control lighting conditions at will.
